Was looking to get 2 custom hats yesterday but just kept hearing sighs and nail tapping from the worker so we dipped. Would never come back.

First of all I just want to say the hat came out perfectly fine, but its the customer service that is causing me to leave a one star review. As soon as i stepped in the door i wasnt greeted with a "hew how was your day" or anything along the lines of that. It was an immediate, "hey buy a hat get 50% off". Once i had my hat selected i wanted to get an embroidery on the hat. I had to repeat what i wanted 3 times and in the end i had to write it on the piece of paper myself, the gentleman that i was talking too had such bad handwriting to the point i was scared he was going to mess it up. I asked for an estimate of how long it was going to take them, they said 30 minutes top. I waited the 30 minutes went inside the store to go and get my hat and it was sitting there on the counter folded up not even touched with no one batting an eye on it. So I ended up waiting another 30 minutes just for a simple embroidery. When i went back the second time they didnt even remember to bend the brim of my hat after paying the additional 5 dollars. Horrible experience. Only thing that came out good was my hat. I will say the one white male that works there was the only person that seemed professional about his job. Othere were just messing around during their shift and even at one time I saw a phone layed down on the front counter with a football game up when there were easily at least 10 people in the store. If you have a love for hats LIDS is a good option. Just dont go to the roseville galleria location. read more

I own a business and frequently come in for larger orders of my business logo on blank hats. Was informed that the order would need to be fulfilled by their warehouse, which is no biggie, totally understandable. A few days later I received a call from Lily, she said the warehouse didn't have the hats we selected in stock so it would have taken even longer to fulfill my order. Instead she did them at her location and what would have been a 2 week wait, turned into a 3 day wait. I'm absolutely happy with the results of my hats and the turn around time frame. I would pass on this Lids and go to a different one. They upcharged me on an hat and refused to refund the difference. Hat said one price, they rang it up 8 bucks more. Literally told me "this is pretty common". Also, embroidery here isn't the best. Looks like they took my hat off too early and the design didn't finish. Pretty loose stitches too. I just wanted to say what an amazing experience I had. Lily went above and beyond as did Christian. They called stores trying to locate a Fear of God hat for me. Lily's demeanor was so sweet and caring. I feel uncomfortable as a woman who knows nothing about sports coming into stores like this. But Lily and Christian went above and beyond. I wanted to get my dad a hat for father's day and wanted to get it embroidered. They said it would take 45mins- an hour. I get back an hour later assuming it would be done and they haven't even started it. mind you the employees are just talking it up with each other and not helping the customers either. I had to go to work so i asked if they could hold on the hat for me till i get off and they said sure and claimed they closed at 8 today. After work i rush over and arrive at 7:20 seeing that lids is now closed. Lids is about 20 miles from me so it's not easy to come back and forth like this. read more

Terrible customer service! I read online that the store was open until 9pm. I tried calling the store at 6:35 pm. I called 11 times and no one would answer the phone. I arrived at the mall but all of the main stores restricted access to the smaller stores. So I was calling to inquire about placing an order. I wanted to ask if the store was open for curb side pick up. Their are no instructions posted anywhere but their website has them listed as open until 9. Terrible service. First time yelping. Google said lids opened at 10am on Saturdays. I got there at 10:10. After waiting in front of the store for 25 minutes, watching the salesperson inside diligently completing tasks, I looked for his attention and received it. He let me know they open at 11am. The customer service is terrible. When I went to pay for my item, the guy asked me if I wanted to give my email address to receive coupons. I said no thank you because I don't usually buy hats. It was a gift. The guy was so rude. He acted so offended. He threw the hat and the receipt in the bag and tossed the bag on the counter. Had a hat custom made. When I went to go pick it up I noticed that they didn't put enough stitching on the letters. I can see the raised material behind it. I pointed it out to the staff who turns out to be the store manager. All I got was multiple excuses. At first he said it was supposed to look like that and then it said that he wasn't the one doing it. It seems like we were going back and forth and it got no where. The hat cost me $60 and it's looks terrible. Save yourself the frustration and go else where. I will never come back here and I will advise all my co-workers who have there hats made here to do so as well. read more

Was in store yesterday (Sunday) looking for hats for our two kids. John was swamped but hustling. Helped us pick out embroidery for that hats and was told to come back at 12:30 to pick them up, 12:30 we returned, Store was packed and poor John was still there by himself hustling away. He apologized for the hats but being ready but we didn't mind. We saw how hard he was working to help everyone from register to finding sizes while running the embroidery machine. My boyfriend is a hat addict, so we frequent many lids locations. We came here looking for a new hat, was greeted but never asked if we needed help. We quickly chose the hat and went to the register, the guy who seemed like the manager MADE US WAIT 10 Mins while he was discussing something with a co worker. I've worked in retail for 6 years plus and I am a manager myself, I know the customers always come first. I wouldn't have mind waiting if he would have said it nicely, but his whole attitude was bad. The co worker was a nice girl and apologized after, even said herself that she hates that guy. The star is for her...I feel bad for her :( By far the worst lids I've been to. read more

Terrible customer service by Jonathan the store manager! I purchased a hat on 5/22 and the credit card machine was down so I purchased it with cash. My fiancé didn't like the hat, so I went back in today to return it. I was told I would have to come back later or another day as they did not have $45 to issue me a refund. Mind you we are in the middle of a pandemic and I am being asked to keep checking back and hopeful they will have cash to issue a refund. Ordered a hat online. They shipped a completely different hat than the one i requested. Had to pick up the hat at the store. Wanted to exchange for the right one but they had to order it as well.
