hi-ya! We were doing so holiday shopping and this place was on the list to check out. It's a really well organized store and the clothing isn't piled up like crazy and its presented well. We ended up picking up something for a gift and the pricing is probably on average around a hundo there. I feel like that's become the new norm for most places. Anyway, good customer service and place is clean with good lighting. read more

Just had a very rude person "help" me. Her name is Lisa when I came in for an online pick up she was immediately rude. I realized I didn't have my ID but asked if showing the email with barcode was ok because I have done that at other stores. She didn't answer me but stared at me like I was stupid. I then asked if I was able to show a photo of my ID and when I said I know some places allow that she said "that's great I need your actual ID" in a very rude way. It was very odd and confusing why she was acting this way. Maybe she just hates her life. Anyway, Lisa, get well soon. read more

Love the wonderful customer service that I received from the sales team at the Village Shopping Mall in Meridian, Idaho. They were so helpful, friendly and accommodating! Love this store and team!! Cannot say the same about the customer service team at the Roseville Galleria store in the California location. They were not helpful almost to the point of being rude and were understaffed. Please send your team in Roseville to Idaho for training. read more

Over the years, Athleta as a brand has changed. This particular store has gone downhill in the customer service department the last few times I've shopped. Today, while they were not terribly busy, I could not get anyone to help me. I needed a different size, but the one staff member who wandered in to the dressing room area was too busy complaining about how short staffed they were to hear me say "excuse me" multiple times. This is the second negative experience I've had here and not sure I will be back. read more

Recently I received a $50 coupon card from Athleta to entice me to visit and make a purchase. My husband had purchased a high value gift card for me and I was pleased to receive the $50 card. However, corporate may want to rethink their policies. When I went to make my purchase they said my account was a Core account and the $50 card was sent to icon accounts. I provided my account email and phone number along with my husband's but to no avail. This has left me feeling BAD about Athleta. So why did they send me a card? If it was a mistake they should have said so. I spent a lot of time trying to figure this out with the nice store salesperson and again on the phone. Not good, Athleta. I will now tell my husband not to buy me more gift cards from Athleta. read more

Worse experience ever, I was offer to get an additional 40% just to apply for a credit card, which I needed up doing it. After receiving my credit card statement and finding out that 40% never was honored. Make sure if you apply here for a credit card you get the right offers. read more

I am surprised about the low rating for this store. I notice a lot of the reviews are 8 to 10 years old however. Today I was greeted immediately when I walked in the store by Angelique. Once I was in the dressing room, I didn't have to leave one time. She brought me every size that I needed, and was there when I needed her. She was very helpful, suggesting items to try on and very congenial. The quality of the clothing there is also very good and there are many things to select from. Don't let the rating that they have and these old reviews keep you from going there. Not only was Angelique very friendly the other staff was as well. It was a great shopping experience, and I highly recommend this store. read more

I love athleta but this location is the worst. Went in today for some returns/exchanges and to shop around. Manager gave me the side eye when I said the leggings were too big and I wanted a smaller size. Continued to judge at my size choices. I am a size 14/16. I can usually fall between L/XL in straight sizes and 1x in plus sizes depending on the item so I love that athleta has both but this lady gave me a look like I couldn't fit in what I was requesting and I had to reassure her that yes, in this item I wanted a large. She gave me attitude during the whole transaction and while shopping I went to another employee with questions (who was absolutely amazing) but when I had a question about opening a credit card to see if I had to do it in store or if I could do it online/over the phone, the manager stepped in and said she knew nothing about how the phone process works but also that I couldn't and had to do everything in store with her. Contradicting. I put my items back and left. Manager needs to go. read more

Went in to look for new tights. Was not greeted upon entry (even though the ww immediately behind me was a few minutes later). Store was not busy, employees were chatting it up behind the cash wrap. Looking for someone to assist, but they were to busy talking amongst themselves. Found tights and and top to try and waiting for someone to start me a room. Nothing. Started my on room. Liked what I had on, but wasn't going to purchase here. As a matter of fact, probably won't shop at Athleta again read more

Bummed to see that there were some folks who were disappointed with the customer service here. The top notch experiences are exactly why I keep coming back. My first transaction here was when I came to return a defective item. I had worn it and washed it (and this was apparent). They never even flinched let alone gave me any sort of attitude about it. I am hyper sensitive to treatment like that too, so trust that I would have ran my mouth had they made me feel less than ok with it. Since that first appearance I have been back multiple times and my transactions have varied in type but never have they made me feel uncomfortable about returns, exchanges, using gifts cards and even having different locations ship me something that they didn't have. I have done a lot of transactions with "Jen" and she has always been great. Knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. read more

Went to Athleta Roseville for the first time. I was probably in the store for about 10-15 minutes browsing. Not once was I asked if I needed help. Only me and one other lady was in the store. The clerks were having their own conversations, restocking shelving and acting as if I wasn't even there. When I checked out, the sales lady didn't ask if I found everything I was looking for. All the said was "this sale is final". Really bad customer service. I will probably just stick with Nordstrom for my athletic clothing needs. read more

The staff is knowledgeable with the merchandise. I was naive in looking for running apparel for my daughter. Wish there were more stores.

I am ashamed of this corporation! Let me start by saying my wife and I have shopped here hundreds of times. My wife is with law enforcement and taught CrossFit for kids, when one of the Athleta staff knew this a year ago, she suggested that she signed up for Fitppro perks. She's had this for a year. Yesterday, she showed her card and the girl at the counter said that she'd need to renew it online and that she'd walk her through it. Then she started asking what she did, then read on her Fitpro card that she was with law enforcement and says "oh, you work for the police department, hmmmm" I stood back and ears perked up. This is no longer about a silly discount, I don't even care about that. I was hoping I wouldn't hear what I was going to next. The girl came back after chatting with her manager and said "due to their new 2020 guidelines, we no longer can honor it, sorry ." What??? So because she works for law enforcement, and she teaches cross fit to kids or defenses tactics, Athleta can no longer can honor due to her being in LEO??? I heard you loud and clear. I would hope that such a , what I thought to be, a great company, there would be NO discrimination and NO encouraging of hate. This was hateful! And so insulted because what I heard is that they saw my wife and I as bad humans. Shame on you! You don't know anything about our background, what I stand for and you discriminated against us just because of being in LEO. Shame on you read more

I wanted to update my previous review after a recent trip to Athleta. I walked in and was greeted very nicely by an employee who went out of her way to help me. She looked in the back to find a pair of Hana 2-in-1 running shorts in my size, guided me to the fitting room and checked back on me while I was in line. The woman who helped me check out was incredibly nice, I mean she really couldn't have been more pleasant. She thanked me effusively for coming in, we made small talk and then she put my shorts in an adorable reusable bag. All in all a great experience and 1000% improvement over my previous attempts to shop there. Two thumbs up and I'll definitely be back. read more

I did not have the experience that many others have described. Due to COVID all of my shopping has been online. Not easy when shopping for bathing suits or fitted workout clothes. So I had to make a few returns and exchanges in person. I was a little nervous about having to do this based on the reviews I'd read about bad service and attitude and I hate confrontations. But as soon as I walked in with my package under my arm, I was greeted with a smile and a "I can help you here if you have a return!" No issues. Transaction handled. AND an apology that things didn't work out because she knows how difficult it is to shop in our new reality. So sweet and friendly! I only dropped a star because prices seem a bit high. But their sales are decent and I like their style. read more

This review pertains to the customer service, or lack thereof, in this store and not for the company itself. I ordered something online that I needed to exchange, but I figured hey, not a bad deal, I get to go to the store and do some more shopping! I do a lot of activities so I always want more activewear. I walked in with my item, went to the leggings to try to find a replacement pair and no one ever greeted me, asked me if I needed help with an exchange-nothing. Just looked at me and kept on folding/walking around, etc. They walked right by me, were working right near me and never once said anything. I finally just went up to the register and returned my item since I didn't find what I was looking for right away and didn't really feel like giving business to people not even willing to say "hello" or offer some help. Super disappointed. I'd have loved to have some help with their great items. I continue to just order online, their phone customer service is excellent! read more

I have ordered some workout/yoga clothes from their catalog, and purchased items in their store. I'm very happy with the quality of their stuff, and the fabric is soo soft, its very comfortable to wear. Will purchase from Athleta again. read more

Went back to the store at Roseville Galleria today. I love the clothes but this store is awful. The sales people are not friendly or helpful at all. It is such a shame. This is my second review and my second time at this particular store. Still terrible customer service. It is a shame because I do love the clothes. They are more interested in rearranging and folding instead of helping. read more

I was really excited when I realized that Athleta was in the Galleria as I have ordered their clothes through their catalog years ago when they first emerged as a women's surf wear and running wear catalog. The first time I went into the store, it was very busy and yet, I was greeted and helped rather quickly. I have been in about 4 times since and have made multiple purchases there. Each time I've been in, the staff has been very friendly and so helpful. They really go out of their way to locate an item in my size or color and help me find what I'm looking for. Their management is superb as I had a return that I wasn't able to bring in for awhile due to illness. They had no problem returning the item and offering to refund me or help me find something else. Few stores will do that today. I've always loved their clothes, but now I love how great their management and employees are too! read more

all over the store they advertise to buy some workout clothes to try them for one workout and if it doesn't work, bring it back. I tried two ( bra and pants) for my yoga classes, but I didn't like how it felt on my body, especially pants, so I brought them back two days later. The salesperson ( older woman, I think she was a manager) who did my return had a very unhappy face, big attitude, that I was returning items. I had to explain myself, still she was super unhappy, wow! Horrible customer service, my suggestion, just order online, so you don't have to deal with these unhappy people at athleta! read more

I walked in the other day because I had a coupon and thought I could save some money buying some workout gear as opposed to buying something from lululemon. The customer service is awful. There were 3 employees that were chatting among theirselves and didn't greet me. I was confused on sizing and as I stood there trying to decide a size no one offered helped or asked if I had questions. Irritated and annoyed I left and went to lululemon to buy a workout shirt and sports bra because of how amazing their customer service is and you can always count on all of their employees being super helpful and friendly. I won't ever walk into athleta again. read more

It looks like I've experienced what many others have at this store: terrible customer service. It's too bad too because the products are nice. I drove all the way out to Roseville (30mins) because I earned a 30% off coupon for retweeting a promotion from the galleria store Twitter account. The social media promotion mentioned I needed to come into the store to pick up the credit. I wanted to buy the Shasta Pant which is $98. So, for nearly $30 off yeah I'll make the drive. When I arrived I found that they don't have that item in the Roseville store. That's a bummer but I figured I'dl take my coupon and go order it online. WELL, when I asked (and showed them the tweet) they had no idea what was going on. It was clear their marketing person isn't communicating with their store. They basically said they wouldn't give me the 30% off because it was from an older promotion and that's that. Mind you, there was NOTHING online about any sort of date of expiration. Literally it just said "retweet for 30% off." It was obvious that they were just scattered and didn't have a 30% off credit to give me. If you legitimately are running a short-term promotion that's fine, but you need to disclose that. At this point I promoted their company info to my followers with the promise of something and in return and got nothing. The kicker was the customer service gal said "there are mark downs on some items in the store that are more than 30% off, so you can shop and just buy something here." The problem is the customer service in the way that this is addressed. You don't just tell a customer "one part of our business promised you something but now that we got you in the store we aren't going to honor it." Hopefully they get some better staff soon. read more

I'll stick to online ordering. Came in to return an item I bought online and found the two sales women on the floor were snobs. The cashier was pleasant and seemed sincere but the others not so much. read more

I always have enjoyed the sales associates here, but their manager is not courteous at all when you need to return something.

Honestly I never judge my buying decisions based on YELP people complain no matter what! If you get a bad sales associate go to the manager or the owners. Every retail store had bad workers it's hard to find good retail help. I have been in here many many times they are always accommodating if they don't have it they will order it and we can check right in store for availability. I will continue to shop here great service great product. read more

They gained a star with their effort to return my pants. Everyone in customer service was very helpful and apologetic. They returned the money with a note, which was a nice touch. What i had an issue with was it sounded like a form letter, which continued to explain how this was a corporate office and they didn't return pants there. But this time they will. Gee thanks. I dunno, most people not care but my biggest pet peeve is a business saying "we normally don't do this but..." Don't make me feel like I'm putting you out. Plus it was your bad anyway. What was laughable was at the end it said "if you have any issues next time return them to the store, they would be happy to assist you." THAT WAS THE ISSUE TO BEGIN WITH! Sigh, they don't get it. I'm over Athleta... read more

. I was at The Galleria last week or so looking for the trave l/ luggage store. I noticed that a new Athleta had opened up . I have seen there items on the net and seen the ads in some mags. I was curious and being an active person i decided to take a look around. They are well stocked with merchandise. They also have plenty of people to help you out. Its a active womens store loaded up with winter clothing. Some of it looks pretty uncomfortable and bulky in my opinion. It might look good in the catalogs on cute models with braids but i am not too sure about actually wearing this type of clothing,. I guess if you are in a very cold area all these layers and hats and gloves would make sense. It would take a long time to put on some of these outfits. Maybe if i was living in the Northwest or East coast or even Tahoe, I would be buying clothes here. Its a certain style and I suppose they have a good following as they have stores in plenty of other places. Just not my thing. The store itself is very nice and the staff is too, as they asked me many times polietly if I needed help. To each his own. read more

I was in the Roseville location after Christmas and the sales women was horrible. I asked if a certain pair of pants came in long she said no, I then asked if they had any pant in long and she "I already told you no' then I explained I needed to return my pants and if I could get a gift card she said no and return my pants back onto the CC that they were purchased on. I was shocked this was a gift from Christmas from some one else. I will not be Shopping here again. read more

I usually get my workout clothes at Target, but I treated myself to two cute tank tops for my birthday several months ago. I washed and wore one a few times but it was slightly too big and I started to not like the purple, so it sat in my drawer. This morning, I read an article on how excellent Athleta's return policy is. No receipt needed, return 'at any time for any reason', whether you don't like the fit or style. I took my top back to the store, looking forward to replacing it with one that fit better and in a different color. The salesgirl was a little rude and seemed miffed that I would attempt to return something that I had washed. She also said the top had gone down in price and they could probably only credit me for the lower price. She got her manager and the manager said that the store " would go out of business if they let people just go home and wash and wear a shirt before deciding they didn't like the color". She said the return policy only allowed you to exercise in it once to give it a trial run. I mumbled something about what I had read on their website but she dismissed that as me having misunderstood something. I didn't push it because her snippy attitude had me feeling embarrassed. I'm furious that I was given Walmart level customer service at such a high priced store. I'll be writing a letter to their corporate office. read more

I had the same experience as another reviewer. Athleta is suppose to have a "no sweat it return policy" return anything anytime. I actually spoke to a woman at athlete.com prior to driving 25 minutes our to Roseville about making the return. I thought if I made the drive I would be more likely to find something that fit rather than returning and guessing online. Well NEVER again! I got the same, "well we normally don't do this, but..." and I felt like they continued to lecture me about returning my items, as if I was putting them out. These workout clothes are not cheap and I have spent plenty of money at Athleta and to get such rude service was a shock, especially after speaking with a very kind representative online. They did return the items, but no one helped me in the dressing room. They were not busy and there were at lease four employees working the floor. From now on I will just do everything online. They were so rude and unhelpful. read more

It says right on the receipt to give it a try on a workout, and if it doesn't work, bring it back. I tried two items running, and neither of them worked, so I brought them back. The salesperson who did my return clearly wasn't happy that a) I was returning items, and b) I'd worn them. I had ordered one of the tops I returned online, and she even said something to the effect of, "well, did you even try the right size on in store?" like I was just randomly picking sizes and ordering them. I've been to this location 3 times in the past 6 months and the other two times I've been there the salespeople were great, which is why it gets half the stars. If it were based solely on the last experience, it would be only 1 star. read more

I have to echo the same poor customer service that other Yelpers are experiencing. While I don't love Lulu Lemon, the sales associates are so much nicer and way more helpful than the people at Athleta. But no biggie--I prefer to shop undistracted anyways. But that is not why I am writing this review--I am writing this review because of the awful guy that works there. He is the only dude I've seen behind the register and not sure if he is the manager or what, but either way, he should be fired. He's rude, has a huge attitude, and whenever you go in to return something, he acts like you are trying to pull off an Ocean's 11 type heist. I went in the other day to exchange something and get a price adjustment, but not before being rudely and inappropriately being questioned about my return. This same person, only months before, refused to return a pair of pants that had a hole in them despite Athleta's accommodating return policy. I called the online customer service and they made it right. If you are looking for great customer service, go somewhere else. If you have to return something, steer clear of the male sales associate. read more
