Grocery day! This is part of our regular Aldi and Lidl run to get our groceries. The primary reasons we come here is to check out the transient items from Greek and/or Italy -- cookies, anchovies, sardines, and gingerbread. This Lidl has a large free parking lot and offers both small and large carts. And you don't need to scramble for a quarter to release the cart-- these are free floaters. Another reason we like to come to the Lidl on Bel Air Road in Nottingham is to look at and sometimes buy flowers and plants-- they really have a nicer selection of flowers and plants for a grocery store. And perhaps the best part of Lidl is their fresh bakery. We have to buy pretzel rolls and jelly-filled doughnuts aka Berliners. The baked goods are always so fresh at this Lidl. I know this isn't a reflection on Lidl, but something needs to be done. I had the taste for some pastries and before I could grab a few tasty treats was a couple who did not use the tissue paper or tongs to grab the pastries. They straight used their bare hands to reach in and grab pastries. I find this disgusting and unsanitary. No one wants to eat your germs. I made a suggestion to an employee, but he said people are going to do what they going to do. So as a warning I would avoid get pastries unless you like your baked goods covered in germs. Other than that I was happy to see my pizza restocked and a variety of frozen fruit. read more

I would like to say how disappointed I am with your business I went to your store with the idea of purchasing a couple of things I really enjoy eating. After picking up your flyer, I noted that each day had a separate sale Do you think this a good idea to expect your customers to make multiple trips to your store day after day just to buy a few things on sale Your prices aren't that great to begin with. If you want to copy the major chains i.e. Giant, Shoprite they make some specials on the weekend only or for three days. Your store has the same limited amount of food, and it is not always a bargain. The major chains have name brands cheaper than the generic brands you sell. I just had to express my disappointment with you. It is a lame idea, and I do not like being taken for granted. For now on I will stick with the major chain grocery stores because your store is just an extra stop for limited merchandise. read more

On a Saturday, the busiest day of the week, is when they decide to restock. Not overnight, so as not to block the isles and prevent customers from going down the isles, but right on the middle of the busiest shopping day. The employees treat the customers trying to get by with distain. Not moving out of the way. I'm surprised no customers have tripped and fallen over the pallets blocking the isles. The time before there was a young lady restocking the carts from the parking lots. She was pushing a few strays back into the cart return and I asked if I could get one. Instead she shoved them as hard as she could. I said "ohh, I wanted one of them", she pointed to the far end of the store or front sand said you could have gone over there and got one. What I should have done instead of turned around and left. This was a nice store when it opened but now the customer service is terrible. The bathroom is filthy the floors are scarred and filthy. I can't say I'll never return but it will only be for something I can't get anywhere else. read more

Let me begin with the Lidl story. I used to shop at another grocery store almost just across the street diagonally. Another single name grocery store from Germany. Lidl is based in Belgium . Upon entering you will see a great bakery, an awesomely excellent produce section. That even has fresh Fennel Bulbs. They have both name brands and Lidl brands. Like other grocery stores their name brands are actually private label brands simply repackaged with Lidl packaging. The store is clean, convenient and has plenty of parking. It also has some very interesting seasonal offerings. Like Oktoberfest foods in the Autumn. Whole Prosciutto Hams st Christmas and frozen shucked oysters on the half shell which are fantastic in dishes like Oysters Rockefeller. All in all I haven't met one person who has any complaints or concerns about this Lidl. Standout items include cheeses, dairy and produce. read more

I really enjoy the "Mr. P" cola and cherry cola flavored sparkling water, so, I went back tonight to buy more. Interestingly there were post-it's on every channel strip marked with fraction type numbers for every item on the shelf in store. Is this Lidl's way of taking fiscal inventory? Is this algebraic phenomena? Besides Mr. P I did buy some chips, bagels, seasonally flavored Clif Bars @ .99 each and Lidl's seltzer water. 16 one liter bottles. Here's my dilemma: there are new flavors: grapefruit, black cherry, mango and raspberry lime. Grapefruit was line priced with original, orange, lemon and lime at the fair price of .55 each. They were on sale last week at 5/$2 but I couldn't make the trip. The other three were priced at .77 each. There is a legacy grocer with at least a dozen flavors of one liter seltzer at .59 or 2/$1 on sale. Probably from the same bottler. I'll guess Polar. Aldi's cousin Traitor Joe's have their own funky flavors of natural sparkling water at .79. The point of a deep discounter is value. Just a little disappointing as these new flavors are not boutique items and should be line priced with the segment. Just saying, I have options closer to home. That said, I'm excited to have Lidl coming to my 'hood very soon. They're doing most everything right and I'm a believer. read more

I love Lidl. They are one of my favorite stores. Always clean and well stocked. Produce prices are similar to what you'd pay at Wal-Mart but I have noticed they stay fresher longer. The meats are a little cheaper than what you'd pay at Wal-Mart. With the inflation on everything, it's a good place to do shopping without having to wait in too long of lines or worry about the crowds. read more

Lidl comes through every time with the best selections and great prices. Glad to see the shelves are being restocked daily. This is my new favorite grocery store and you should make it yours too. Really was excited for this store. I been several times since grand opening. The carts are free, not like Aldi's. They also have self checkout, and fresh bakery items . I also notice gourmet cheese. The store is very clean, but the shelves don't stay stocked with items. The prices not great, I like Aldi's better. The sale lots of name brand items, but the prices seem same as regular grocery store. The vegetables is the reason I go to Aldi's, but Lidl vegetable prices seem higher. Ok so I find myself here at least twice a week. The only thing I would change would be to put one closer to my house. The store is very clean and the prices are reasonable. I feel like this one on Belair Rd. is bigger than the one in Catonsville. They both are extremely far from me and require me to get on the highway to get there. I was here the day before Mother's day and I was pretty impressed with all the beautiful flowers that they have available. As of today I have to eat Gluten free foods, along with no dairy or red meat. There were a lot of options here that offered that at great prices. I was clean and the lines move pretty fast. Other than food items I was also able to buy a scale. (plan on losing so much weight from my new diet) One of my favorite items there is the Sofresco fruit juices and they also have probiotic shots with ginger, turmeric, vinegar and apples. The produce section is very reasonable. This is one of my new favorites. read more

Great prices but I do have to post a negative review here based on this morning's experience. The manager had her nose hanging over her mask, as did several employees. I pointed out that you can spread a virus through your nose and you might as well not even bother if you're going to wear it that way. This virus is nothing to take lightly. I don't like having to worry about Covid while shopping because some people are careless. That said, onto the good: the meats are fabulous and are a great price. I have been an ALDIs fan for over 25 yrs, when they first entered the scene in Baltimore.over the years I have become less enamored with their prices, quality and whole Foods vs prepared mix. Lids is like Aldi on steroids. I think their produce is a bit superior and I like that you don't have to by quantities wrapped up for you, like zuchinni for example. Aldis are packed in a 3 pack and Lifl you can choose your own amount. Supply chain issues seem to impact Aldi where it doesn't as much at Lidl. They are much more in stock. There are noticeable difference in some quality, for example they have Parm cheese wedge from Italy where Aldi has Parm cheese from Wisconsin. (Lidl Parm much better!) no hunting for quarters to get a cart. Self serve checkout available. Fresh baked goods if that's your thing. Some interesting European finds. Loyalty rewards for app users. All in all a better experience!!!! read more

Grand Opening - it's like Aldi on Steroids, the staff was very helpful and friendly. This store has name brand and money friendly items. The bakery doughnuts was soft! This store had a variety of items.... gave me a flea market type of feel... I guess it was the sewing machine that threw me off! Overall its a market you still have to self bag. It has a double bagger so you don't have to wait for the person in front to move out of the way! This one doesn't sell wine or beer. read more

One word Nice! I love this new store in Nottingham! It's very clean and nice to go to save a few dollars on groceries. They have some name brands as well but the quality is very good. My favorite market at this time I can't stop going to buy just anything lol during the week. The employees are amazing as well very friendly and always happy to help! read more

A grocery store that's kinda like aldi, but with way more selection and lower prices. Almost as if aldi and Walmart has a baby and someone forgot to raise the prices (and added a bakery). I'm usually an aldi shopper, but I may now be converted to Lidl. They even have several items you would not expect to see at the grocery store, like veal or escargot. The produce selection was pretty good, but like aldi some things weren't there (I couldn't find jalapeños, parsley, or cilantro). I attached pictures so you have an idea what it looks like inside. Overall, they have a good selection and decent prices, so I'll be going back. read more

I'm obsessed with Lidl! The week that this location opened, I was bombarded with advertisements on social media. I figured that I would give it a try, as I am a huge fan of ALDI. The first time I went it, the store was packed with eager and excited shoppers. The managers at this store were definitely thinking preemptively, as they had many store associates manning the check out area, as well as stocking the shelves. This store is located on Belair Road in the shopping center across from the ALDI. They inhabited the old space where the Mars grocery store used to be, and I find it to be a fantastic addition to the affordable grocery store options in this area. As soon as you walk into the store, you are greeted by wonderful smelling bakery with variety of baked items such as donuts, muffins, baguettes, and bagels. The store has a similar layout to the average grocery store with produce, meat, dairy and frozen items surrounding the inner aisles that are filled with packaged goods. I especially love the occasional deals on steak, fresh Atlantic salmon, and chuck roast. The frozen green beans, fresh baby carrots, and organic sweet potatoes are fantastic! I also really love their flavored sparkling water, as I find it to be a little less artificial tasting when compared to ALDI's version. The store is clean and the store associates are friendly! Bought a pack of wings on Saturday 3/11/2023 and underneath a few wings were black spots like bruising or freezer burn. Against my better judgment I cut and discarded the suspect pieces. The wings had an odd taste, like they were old. Thankfully they didn't make me ill but we had to throw them out. Putting old food on the shelf for sale is awful. $14 down the drain. Love this store. If you are at all adventurous and not hung up on store brands, by all means, give it a try. Be prepared for a great, eclectic selection- they often feature one particular country or event- Christmas just wrapped up and I'm hoarding the chocolate... and the giant Santas were s big hit with my nephews. Can't wait for Mediterranean week and that divine Baba Ganoush hummus to come back around. Check out the freezer case- huge scallops 12 oz for $9.99. Produce section comparable to Aldi. Bring bags and know that you will bag your own groceries, BYOB or buy paper bags for 7 cents. Highly recommend. read more

Just left. First time. I'm impressed with everything in the store. Low $ and good quality meats, produce, and cool stuff. I also appreciate they have electric carts. Other similar stores do not. Well organized,neat and clean. I compared their prices to other stores that I shop and they are great. They have little carts for children which my grandkids enjoyed and motorized cart for days when I difficultly walking. I'm looking forward to shopping there again. read more
