Been shopping there since it opened and will not shop there anymore. Have tolerated the rude behavior from the employees the last time. Why should we give our money to a store that shows disrespect, unfriendly service, does not say thank you, act like they are doing you a favor waiting on you, act like they do not want you to be there, ignore you when you see a discrepancy, point out something that is dirty and get ignored, bathroom are dirty. They are very inconsistent with what they have in stock! You buy something and like it, come back a week later and they just might not even have it and you'll have to wait weeks to see it again! They have the WORSE cashier system... They always have long lines and only 1 or 2, maybe 3 cashiers open, so checkout takes forever here! I don't know how long consumers will put up with their very odd business model. I hope they change soon, or just close down. read more

What's not to like. The food here, for the most part, is a lot cheaper than you would find in other places. These are off brands, but quality food. You can get a box of cereal for less than $1.50 and it's fairly close to the real thing. There are also a good number of deals that come out weekly that make it worth taking the trip. Although, a lot of stuff is pretty great, Not everything is better. Some of the bakery goods are not amazing. I've only tried the coffee once and was fairly disappointed. But for the most part the good outweighs the bad. We compared Lidl to a number of other places, such as Walmart Neighborhood Market, and were fairly satisfied with the quality and cost savings. read more

A brand new Lidl right next to Walmart on Route 17. I stopped in today for the first time. It is similar to the one in Culpeper that recently opened. So far, I am a fan of Lidl. They have great prices on produce, dairy, eggs, cheese and other items. The only thing is that they are limited in what they carry. Happy to find fresh cilantro and ginger here. Wish they had a few more fresh herbs. I also wish they would carry more German items since they are German-owned. It would be cool if the would do a German market for Christmas! Also, I wish they had a small place to sit down an order a German lunch. There is only one German place like this and it is a long haul over towards Arlington, VA! I love Lidl. It was my favorite grocery store before COVID19. I missed it so much that I started coming back. The curbside pick-up at another grocery store was lacking. Lidl has a great selection of produce, dairy, meat, frozen, and non perishables. They also have an extensive organic section. Love their almond milks and plant based proteins. The seasonal items (food and non food items) alone are worth a trip here. Especially during the fall and before Christmas. The bakery has been modified. Previously you selected individual items, but with COVID19 everything is pre-boxed for safety. Download the app before you visit so you can use the electronic coupons and scan when you checkout for frequent shopper rewards. The store has free wifi. The store is very clean. Ample parking and a clean bathroom. Shopping carts are free, but you have to pay extra for shopping bags. I bring my own reusable bags. read more

I stopped shopping here a while back since it's always too crowded, but I definitely won't be going again after one of the managers harassed my mom for not wearing a mask and followed her throughout the store. She could have asked her politely the first time and my mom would have put it on, but she was rude from the start. read more

I love Lidl, it's really that simple. If you're looking for a lot of name brands, you're at the wrong store. But if you like a bakery when you walk in the door, fresh and in season fruits and vegetables, and affordable meats and fish, then Lidl is for you. I walk into Lidl and walk out with everything I need and sometimes more! I'm able to buy groceries for my husband and myself and stay under budget. It's a one stop shop for me, I can buy my fruits and vegetables, pick up fresh bread, buy my meats for the week, pick up cleaning supplies, pay and be out the door. Sometimes I find a little something extra where they keep new finds in the center aisles. The lines can sometimes look a little crazy, but they move fast. Lidl is so organized and the layout is easy to manage. Lidl is my preferred grocery store because the prices, food, and friendly service can't be matched. read more

Before moving to Fredericksburg we had never heard of Lidl, but what a wonderful find! Terrific quality at truly incredible prices. Watch the specials, they will amaze you. We have purchased fresh baked goods, produce, floral, various protiens, dairy, processed and frozen foods ... nothing is less than excellent. I'm normally (and will remain) an aldi shopper but wanted to try out lidl to see if it lived up to the hype. I found their produce selection to be lacking (couldn't even find jalapeños and cucumbers) and their prices to be considerably higher than my normal grocery shop at aldi. As a vegetarian, there were little meatless options that I could find which was disappointing. I wish they would devote more of the store to actual food as it seemed half the store was Knick knacks. I did like that they have a fresh bakery though and their cheese selection was impressive. Unfortunately I was overall unimpressed and will not be returning. read more

Great prices on produce and comparable to Aldies. Better prices than Giant and Weiss. Better quality than Walmart and great prices on bakery bread. Return policy on some items if you aren't satisfied you get a refund AND replacement. read more

This newly opened store has alot going for it: pleasant and motivated employees, an excellent bakery (trust me on this: try the croissants. Just wonderful!), an extensive wine selection, a nice selection of Italian foods, clean and well-lighted aisles, etc. prices are reasonable. The only reason I didn't give a '5' was that the store is kind of small, so not a great variety or selection of any one thing. Also, curiously, as the other reviewer noted, there were not many German foods ... given that this is a German owned company that was a little surprising. Still, this is an excellent addition to area food options. read more

Lidl - Grocery Near Me - Fredericksburg, Virginia

No. Just no. I went to the one on Warrenton Rd in Fredericksburg, but I think this is a typical Lidl model. Limited selection, you can't really do all of your grocery shopping there. They carry cheap clothes and other random things in the middle of the store, giving a "dollar store" feel when they could use that large space to have a bigger selection of actual groceries. That said, the price of meats is competitive for sure. I can't speak to the quality or source though, as I didn't buy any. read more

Lidl's wasn't not that great we thought the grand opening was going to be better it wasn't what we expected it could of been better and the prices was crazy like the chopped watermelon 3.69 .. Lidl's was like a bigger aldi's that's about it just much bigger and more higher.... read more

This store has great prices and is worth a trip to check it out but don't go there expecting to find ingredients for a particular dish. Go with the idea that you will tailor your cooking to what they have in their inventory , not the other way around. The store is easy to get around and shopping doesn't take long. read more
