Wow. My first exposure to Lib's Grill was for the curbside Mother's Day special. The servers were spot on running out to check names and bring orders. Very fluid process. The food was very good. By that I mean NOTHING was off. The crab cakes were perfectly seasoned and lump was present. The sliced tenderloin was rare, and I have NEVER had a better bite. The flavor was good and it was tender beyond expectations. The vegetables and potatoes were both done well and complimented the proteins nicely. I'm too full at the moment to try the brownie, but if it tastes like it looks...satisfied. I'm going back here once The Supreme Leader Hogan lifts house arrest. Places like this are hard to find. Very disappointed..... Ordered a Mother's Day package which was to include a bouquet of flowers with a 5:00 pm pick-up. Got there a few minutes early, but my order was not brought out until 5:45 pm. We live one minute away, and when we got home the food was barely warm. We had to put everything in the microwave to heat up. Our order included cornish hens and they were dry, and to top it off, there was no bouquet of flowers. There were a lot of people picking orders up, and they really don't have a very good system for curbside pickup. I placed my order about a week in advance (online), as did everyone else in line. You would think they could have planned better to expedite the orders and deliver the food hot. I absolutely will not order curbside pickup from here again. This is my second time I ordered from Libs Grill, and the first time my food was cold as well. The jury is still out as to whether or not I'll come back once they open for indoor seating. This place rocked. I had roasted chicken with a ravioli and melted smoked mozzarella It was light tasting and a hint of smoke from the smoked mozzarella. I sat at the end of the bar and watch the raw guy shuck oysters all night. Amazingly I had good service considering I was so far away from the bartender. I do not remember her name but my server was blond and working the bar area. She was so friendly and very attentive. I also had a knob Creek neat with a water splash and the prices were pretty good. I've been here a few times with my mom and must say the food and atmosphere great. Parking can be challenging with all the businesses and shops in the area. Seating was prompt and the server and bartender were awesome. The only downside was that my crab cakes seemed to be bland and were not seasoned so well... maybe I came at a bad time. I went with a group of 10 people Tuesday night for dinner. We go out monthly and this was by far one of the best experiences in a while. Our server Kristin provided practically flawless service. We never had to ask for anything. The table was spotless from start to finish. Really couldn't ask for better service. The food and drinks were very good as well. We had a variety of appetizers and entrees. All were well received. I have to mention the crab dip. It was topped with beautiful lump crabmeat. Really nicely prepared. This was my first time at Libs. I had appetizers(fried oysters and mussels), but the portion was the size of an entree. The oysters had a good flavors and served with chipotle flavored sauce . The mussels were served with butter, garlic, and white wine sauce. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food and no complaints. Some of the entrees were shrimp and grits, meat loaf, ribs, scallops, steak, avacado toast, and crab cakes. Oh, the drinks were perfect. read more

We have been dedicated patrons of Lib's for several years since we moved to the Parkville area. We found it by accident, and we have not been disappointed. Of all the dishes we've tried (and we have tried many!), we have only ever been slightly disappointed by one (it was crab benedict from the brunch menu). Even that was still tasty, it was just dry--needed a little extra sauce. This is THE spot for seafood. I always get a dozen of the freshly shucked oysters, and I have never been disappointed. I also always get the deviled eggs with crab. Certainly a smaller portion than one may expect for $8, but delicious! My partner loves the Maryland crab soup. We will sometimes splurge on the crab dip which is also delicious. Any of their steak entrees or the pork chop--you cannot go wrong! Pair it with their daily drink special, and you've got it made. The owner is also very attentive and quickly responds to any issues. Lastly, we had an issue with redeeming our gift card the last time we visited due to an update to their POS system. However, after trying several times to get it to work, they acknowledged it was their error, and just comped the equivalent of the gift card, saying they would "figure it out on their end." I have NEVER been disappointed with Lib's customer service or waitstaff. And, as a parent with picky eater kids--this is the only "real" mac and cheese my kids will eat! Meh.. I get the 3 star rating and not just from Yelp but the newspaper as well. I think Lib's has got a long way to go before they reach their full potential and my hope is that they truly make it. The beau and I stopped in for some good eats on a Thursday night around 6pm. Was actually quite crowded, but with a new spot in town... people are sure to flock to it. We were seated and greeted almost instantaneously. The waitress was friendly and always checked back on us. And although the service was fabulous... the service is not what makes money - it is the food. I think with the right cook, maybe Lib's will make it. My mother and father had stopped in here a couple weeks back, and they said the food was ok.. but knowing that they are picky, I needed to try it out for myself. I ordered the seafood gumbo, not thinking to ask what my parents had eaten when they came in for dinner. Unfortunately, after I had ordered my mom informed me that my dad had the gumbo and it wasn't too good... imagine how I felt waiting for my meal to come to the table. My beau, on the other hand, ordered a 12 oz. ribeye steak. The food didn't take too long to come out to the table, which was nice. The presentation was rather appealing and I was excited to give it a try. My boyfriend cut into the steak and although he said medium-well, it came out medium and it was not seasoned at all. I don't think I have ever had to see someone add salt to a steak. The seafood gumbo... well, let's just say it tastes like tomato sauce poured over king crab leg meat and some shrimp here and there. I was at least expecting different types of seafood's to be throughout (maybe some real crab meat, maybe some baby scallops) but even more so higher quality seafood. I think it's important to "pick" on this dish since i paid $16 for low quality seafood which was served over white rice. Overall, the meal came to about $40 and we left the restaurant hungry and disappointed. The issue: the prices are astronomical for the subpar quality of good Lib's is serving. The service and overall ambiance of Lib's is on point, my hope is that the kitchen can catch up. read more

Composite review. On our frequent trips to MD and the White Marsh area, we get out several times daily for walks, shopping and dining. And of course the never ending trips to Weis Market in the shopping center. Lib's Grill is located very close by and is thus an easy access "drop in" venue -- brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks. Interesting menu, good service, youthful crowd (but then again everyone is youthful compared to us anymore), casual but "upscale" at the same time. Food came out quickly each time; we have not done a full dinner event there yet, just drop ins. Many others in the area recommend Lib's Grill by the way. We've been here many times since moving to PH, and last night was our second time being served by Vas. She is laid back, friendly, and perfectly attentive without being overbearing. It doesn't sound like a big thing but my husband always asks for extra ketchup and rarely gets it the first time. This time he got it the first time. Thank you, Vas! Every time we've come here the service has been pretty good to great. One thing I really appreciate about this place is the menu; you can go with an upscale entree if you're feeling indulgent or just a burger or sandwich if you want. The drinks are good and the music is a nice touch. This area is really lacking nice, non-chain options so we'll keep coming back. This is not a 5 star restaurant, but I like to grade based on value and what I get for what I pay. Not a terribly expensive place with some really great and varied menu offerings. Ummmm.... brown sugar glazed bacon??? Yes please! The cocktail list was extensive. The decor leaves a bit to be desired, but then again, this is supposed to be a casual place. Our first trip to Libs was on Jan. 6th. We had been looking forward to checking out the new local spot even after reading the mixed reviews. Here is what we experienced... The good: atmosphere is much improved over the previous Manhattan Grill. Very tastefully decorated and feels more welcoming. We love oysters and are very happy to have a spot close by to slurp. As far as the food is concerned, we did not have any of the entrees on our first visit, instead opting for small plates. We loved the bacon and popcorn snacks and at $3 each, a great deal. We also enjoyed the soup du jour which was a cream of mushroom (though more care could have been put into the presentation as the lips of our bowls were covered in soup and it looked messy). The bad: the chef plate of charcuterie and cheese. The meat was ok, but the tiny little pieces of cheese that accompanied was a rip off. The balsamic glaze was the worst I've tasted and the olives were the kind of cocktail olives with pimentos that you might expect as an accompaniment on a Bloody Mary but not on a cheese board. Also, though I appreciate that Libs has a better selection of craft beers than did Manhattan, there is definitely room for improvement. It was loud in the bar area. I hope it was only due to the playoffs on tv and that the TVs are not always blaring at full blast. My last comment is regarding the oyster board. The board boasts nearly 40 types of oysters. The night we were there only 3 types were checked as available. Seems odd to advertise so many and only have a couple of options available. Regardless, I'm hopeful that Libs will continue to improve and succeed. We desperately need a hip local spot around so we can avoid always having to drive to the city. read more

Libs Grill has fantastic food at reasonable prices. I've had the Lobster Roll, various fries, and just recently Shrimp and Grits, Steamed Shrimp and their chocolate bread pudding. Let me tell you..the shrimp they use are enormous. No skimping for medium sized...they use the biggin's! Service is spectaular and friendly. If you have kids or toddlers I wouldn't recommend, they will probably deny you service anyways. The first time we came here they seemed to have a problem with our 1 year old, forgot to get us a highchair even after asking multiple people. Our server eventually greeted us after about a half hour waiting and took our order. After an hour of waiting we finally asked were our food was which we were told it would be out soon. Another half hour goes by and nothing. We asked for our food to go at this point it has been 2 hours. We decided to give them a second chance today and the hostess gave us a look of disgust when we walked in carrying our daughter and said she had no seating available even though we saw multiple empty tables. The food is good. I had the deviled eggs with crab-delicious, the oyster stew-not thick enough, the oysters-plump, flavorful, orange crush-not orangey enough and the lobster roll-the lobster was overcooked and rubbery. I will be back for the food...here is the problem. The Manager (woman with light hair) was running around in the dining room but never came to our table. We were a party of 8, stop and say "Hi". It gets worse. There was an even larger party (about 18) who was seated right when we were about to leave and they sat them at separate tables, one of the guys complained and explained that they wanted to be seated together, the host tried to accommodate them but the Manager said "no, they're close enough to each other".
