I keep giving them a chance. I really want to like this place, I really do. Brunch seems to be the only meal that works for me here. I tried the nightly happy hours at least 4 times and all 4 have been bad. The customer service at the bar area is horrible. They need to master the minimum skills. 1) Greet your customers. 2) If you are busy, say so. 3) Smile 4) check on your tables/customers on a regular basis. That is easy to do. Had a nice meal here last week. Atmosphere is nice, not too upscale, but comfortable. We had oysters, sandwiches, and entrees. Everything was good, not fantastic. They actually put the fact that they use Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce on a dish that made me think "why on earth would you advertise using a cheap, store bought, HFCS sauce". We stopped by for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. We loved all the many menu options and decided to try a few of the less popular items out. We ordered the old bay and ranch popcorn and Brussel sprouts. Both were so yummy! Cleaned up both of these dishes! The outer layers of the Brussels were nicely crisp, would watch out for the little pool of sauce at the bottom of the bowl. We also ordered the buffalo chicken tenders, out of everything we ordered it was probably our least favorite. Just overall okay, can say they were very large pieces of chicken ! We also ordered the pan roasted chicken which was placed over ravioli. The ravioli was a tad undercooked, but the chicken itself was good. We loved the truffle fries, however if you've have truffle fries in other places it may not stand out. It's a solid side that everyone will enjoy. Our favorite was the chicken flatbread. It comes with Brie and cranberries, which may seem odd, but it was so good !!! As we were eyeing our neighbors we noticed most others ordering the sandwiches and oysters... which makes me want to come back and try more food ! Overall our service was great ! We needed a date night out, and we're so thankful we found Lib's Grill! No one should be afraid to dine out. It can be done very safely. With that said, Lib's Grill was busy, and with good reason. The food was outstanding and service great (thank you Hannah). To accommodate the demand, they limited the dining time which is absolutely understandable. We just picked our choices while we waited. I got the Baltimore club my first time at Lib's. It was awesome! Crab cake shrimp b l &t It's a "must try " from their menu if you are into seafood. My second visit to Lib's I had their shrimp and grits. It's good! Shrimp and grits is a dish that I use to tell if the restaurant is any good. And Lib's passed the test! Two for two! Went here for a work party on a Friday night at 7pm. The food was excellent. I got the sliced sirloin and wish I knew what seasons were used because there was one flavor I never experienced before and I wanted more of it. Lib's what seasons are on your sirloin? Have been coming to Libs for 5 years and enjoy the ambiance and the great happy hour specials along with the selection of oysters. Last night showed up early for happy but the bar was already full so sat at the oyster bar. It was super crowded and newer staff running the front bat so no one noticed us. Asked a dining room wait staff if she could get someone to help us. She came back to say the bar was a little overwhelmed so she would serve us. She was busy in the dining area but took great care if us. Thank you Mary, you went above and beyond on a very busy evening! One star for lunch, three stars for dinner- so I'll average and give two stars. I went midday, around 1pm, for a late lunch. There was no one in the restaurant, but I decided to sit outside- no one was on the patio except me. I ordered a drink, that was coming from the bar, and waited over 20 mins for it... I thought that was odd considering I was the only person at their establishment. Then I placed my salad order, presumably thought that would also come fairly quickly- it was at this point I think I was completely forgotten about. I was getting impatient as 40 mins had now passed since the server came around- still no salad, no refill. I had to go inside to see what was going on...so after that, I didn't think I'd ever go back. But alas, I had people suggest dinner time would be better. So I gave it a go on a Thursday evening. The server didn't write our order down, but she did repeat it back to us correctly so I thought we were all set there. Our appetizers we ordered never came, then when we got our food it wasn't quite what we ordered, but close... so again..just disappointing all around. read more

I usually have a good meal at Libs but tonight was terrible. I ordered the Baltimore Club sandwich and it was inedible. The crab cake was not cooked. I asked several servers to grab the manager to see if I could switch my order and nobody helped. We had a drink too, so Gabe table was $40 for a sandwich I could not eat and the wrong glass of wine I did not order. I love Libs Brunch! I don't know who came up with their brunch menu but they knew what they were doing. From the bottomless mimosas to the appetizers! My favorite brunch item has got to be their breakfast flatbread! So much flavor and you can customize your eggs on their as well. They can get rather crowded so I would suggest booking a reservation. Do not get the Brussels sprouts I was definitely disappointed as a big Brussels sprouts fan. They lacked flavor and t almost tasted burnt sad to say. However their regular menu isn't that great. The food and service were perfectly adequate, but I will not be rushing back to Lib's Grill. It is tough to muster up the strength to write a review of an establishment so steeped in mediocrity. The dining room was desolate on the weekend evening I was there. Of course, I had to sit in the dining room because the bar has a dazzling light imbedded within the bar top fixture itself. I imagine that it is even more disorienting when under the influence. On the topic of booze, apparently Lib's has contracted with Evo to brew its house ale. The reviews on Untappd confirm its middling nature (as can I). The food is about as enthralling as everything else. I have not eaten anything from Lib's worth writing home about, though they have a nice take on bread pudding (Lib's has crumbled heath bar in and on their bread pudding). read more

We came on Saturday evening to meet friends. We were seated quickly and it's a nice space.The waitress took our drink orders and then we waited 15 minutes for them to show up. Only 10 people in the whole place. Drinks were good and dinner was fine not spectacular. Service was all over the place 3 different people. One of their featured cocktails an espresso martini, they ran out of ingredients??? Staff seem uninterested. Might be worth a second chance,not sure. read more

We had such a wonderful dinner tonight (on their beautiful patio) that I couldn't wait to review. It started with excellent service from our waitress Jasmyne. She was attentive and very friendly. Our food was excellent as well. We had the truffle fries which were good, but our favorites were the entrees. I've never written a negative review about a restaurant; however, I feel that a warning is an order for Lib's Grill. Clearly, either they're understaffed or just poorly staffed. The food is generally OK but nothing to be celebrated. Ive worked in restaurants before and mistakes happen and I've never been one to complain about those facts of life; however, at Lib's it's like they just don't care when they botch an order or make you wait 15 minutes for change. It's really just the poor staff and the general lack of care that makes us unlikely to return to Lib's Grill. My suggestion would be that they reboot their staff and take a hard look at training. In the meantime, if you're making a dining decision in Maple Lawn, make it for somewhere else, I know I will. read more

Where can one begin... I have visited this location SEVERAL TIMES since the doors opened and the service is always on point and the food is terrific! I like the fact that the menu has continued to evolve over time. I have tried several dishes but the chicken and waffles are definitely one if my favs. The Sunday brunch is very nice.... the Happy Hour is very nice... the brussel sprouts are on point... the meatloaf is fantastic and I am a person who never ate anything that ended in "loaf'! Did I mention the brussel sprouts are delicious? I do not have the time to to go through the plethora of oyster options - do yourself a favor if and when you are ever close to Lib's, stop in and have lunch, dinner brunch or all three! Went there on a early Friday evening, got the Maryland crab soup ( red) and it wasn't anything to brag about. It was mostly veggies and broth (not too warm). I got the Baltimore club - crab, shrimp and bacon which was different and not too bad. It is a Big sandwich with 3 slices of bread! The fries that came with it were cold! My friend got the crab cake sandwich it looked decent! The Buffalo chicken tenders are huge. Went back again and got the meatloaf with gravy and green beans! The meatloaf was a patty with gravy - gravy was good but somewhat cold. The mashed I potatoes were seasoned well but not hot! I would give this meal two stars! Went back for a third time and got the salad and added chicken. It was a good sized salad. When my friend and I walked in before 3 on a Friday, the host asked us all kinds of questions like do you have a reservation? (Wasn't even crowded), and what is your phone number? (Never been asked that there before)! Not sure if what all of those questions were all about, especially if we had never been asked those questions before!
