Thanks to Donna and George for arranging the retirement dinner for a dear colleague. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service. Delicious. We loved the room we were in. It was perfect. Thanks again. read more

Lovely restaurant; gracious and prompt service. Terrific menu and the drink special, a cranberry/vanilla Bellini was just fantastic. The food was okay-- I really love Italian food but my shrimp scampi were a little too salty and heavy on the garlic. read more

Visited for a group birthday dinner and unfortunately completely disappointed with the service and quality in food.

Recently went for dinner after not having been there for several years. The chopped salad was a little watery, although somewhat tasty. The chicken libretti's was actually very good, tasty and tender. The house wine was not of a very good quality and really didn't compliment the meal. But, the server was friendly and all in all it was a good meal. Decided to hangout at the bar for karaoke. The waitress behind the bar looks like she needs to learn how to smile again. Not very good for business. The DJ kind of made up for her. He was friendly and seemed to keep the party going. Unfortunately, the bar area is really small and crowded. Kind of hard to dance in such a tight atmosphere. read more

My husband and I went to librettis this past Friday night (4/24) and sat at the bar for dinner and drinks.. Let me warn you about the terrible bartender we had named Sue.. Never have we had a more unfriendly bartender in our lives.. She just doesn't seem excited to be at her job at all and considering bartenders get tips based on service one would think they would be a little more pleasant to be around... If you don't like your job and you work in the food service industry then you really need to find different employment. The food was good buf the service was just terrible. read more

This is simple... old school italian at its best. This is where the real hearty italian eaters eat. One of my favorite restaurants.

Went for a family party here last month. Had buffet food which was all delicious especially the salad and antipasto. The staff was courteous and attentive. Highly recommended. read more

I love Libretti's and have been going here since I was a little kid. The food is always delicious (although I tend to get the same meal) and the staff is amazing. read more

Every time I visit Libretti's the food is always amazing and I'm always leaving with left overs... which is great because I get to enjoy my meal a second time. read more

We went to Libretti's with a Groupon. The atmosphere is lovely! My chicken Siena was delicious. The filet mignon was tasteless. Very disappointing. Probably better to stick with the Italian specialties. read more

The shrimp scampi is delicious !!! The best !!! And all of there's dishes are soooo good.

We were told this was a great place to eat, read the reviews, and chose to visit for our family Christmas Eve. Dinner. What a disaster! It took 40 minutes to get our first drink, an additional 30 minutes to get our appetizers, (which came cold btw) and my entree was so salty that it was uneatable. The only reason I've awarded 1 star is because I felt so bad for the wait staff. After complains to the manager, they did remove several items from our bill, but the manager never made an attempt to visit our table. That explained a lot! I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Been coming to Libretti's since the mid 1960s. I've never had a had a bad meal and, mostly had great meals. Last night was no exception to the norm. An added benefit was the fun time in the bar after dinner. Karaoke us not my thing. However, there was some amazing talent singing last night ranging from Whitney and Motown to Sinatra and Martin. Loved Miss Mia! Can't wait to go back for a "complete" evening of food AND fun! read more

My family has visited this restaurant for generations. I've been eating here since I was a kid, and my moms been going since she was a child with her parents! Great food, relaxing atmosphere, and great service. My favorite dishes there are the mozzarella carrozza, the chopped salad, and chicken Murphy. They also have these awesome sorbets that come in fruit rinds (the lemon sorbet comes in a scooped out frozen lemon rind, etc). Definitely worth checking out for some good Italian food! read more

Had delightful dinner with my wife started with their chopped salad which used all fresh meats and cheeses and definitely upscale to many local restaurants. My wife enjoyed chicken special on the bone over spinach which they had substituted for potato without any hesitation and I enjoyed one of my favorite dishes veal Marsala This is second time I had this dish there and the Marsala sauce was perfect thick loaded with mushrooms with a nice white veal With Sinatra music in background it made for a delightful weekday casual dinner Highly recommend read more

The other night my friend and I wanted shrimp scampi, at first we didn't know where to order from she remembered Librettis . I instantly said Hell yeah because I have eaten there in the past. So she went and picked the food up I couldn't wait ,I knew this was going to be a good meal well I was thoroughly disappointed. It started with the way it was served I thought it was a ramen bowl instead of shrimp scampi and the portions were very disappointing for $25 I at least could have gotten a bigger serving dish and a lot more food . The biggest letdown of the night was the food, where do I begin there was no freshness, the shrimp were tough and overcooked the garlic which is a main ingredient was from a jar, the linguine was mushy the entire dish taste like it was swimming in lemon juice. I know the virus has put restaurants in a bind, but that's no excuse for nasty food. Needless to say I have removed Lebrettis from my Covid-19 restaurant list. BTW three people ate the same dish we all the same problems with the dish read more

I had the worst experience I have ever had at Librettis. You go out thinking your going to have a good meal and enjoy yourself and we had nothing but a horrible experience. The food was horrible. We all got sick from the food. So sick in fact we were up all night!!! We ordered appetizers and then entrees. I ordered a pasta dish and was charged 5.00 extra for requesting a different kind of pasta. That's crazy but at least if the waiter told us about the fee. He did not. My father in law never got his salad. The food was cold when it came out too. To top it all off we went out side to our car and our entire windshield was shattered. I have 2 children which one is an infant. So you can imagine how scared I was. The hostess did come out to see what had happened and then she got the so called manager who was the most rude women I have ever come in contact with. You would think after seeing that they would ask us to come in to safety and we will figure this out. They did nothing but say I am going in to tell the owner and the owner never came out. I had to take my infant into another vehicle because I was to scared to take my children home in a vehicle with a shattered windshield. Then we called to talk to the owner about what he happened and he was unbelievably rude. I have never dealt with people this rude in my life. What happened to us was such a dangerous situation and to Not help us and not do anything about it is awful. Also they should have surveillance there being us a bad area. Don't ever go eat at Librettis it's awful and unsafe as well and the owners are rude and so unprofessional. Is disgusting read more

I really enjoy this place. They have the best Calamari. The garlic bread is amazing a must try.

Went there for my sister's birthday. Walked in the bar and it looked a lil sketchy but when we went in the back I was blown away. Our server sung Happy Birthday to my sister and got all of our orders quickly. Btw, if you like veal then the veal saltimbocca is the dish for you. The portion was so big I had to take it home, and I'm a big guy. lol I'll def be back there again. read more

I grew up in Orange, NJ and have been going to Libretti's for over 50 years!! I have never had a bad meal there! The food is always excellent, the fares are very reasonable, and with the karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights, the fun doesn't stop!! Thank you Danny and the Lazzara family for your delicious food and your gracious hospitality always!! read more

Great Italian place that never disappoints. The service is always friendly and the food is always delicious. My wife and I went there today, Mothers day for our second time. Excellent food and service!!! We ate early considering the full house expected, we were not rushed, the food ordered was served as if a full house was not expected. This is a well organized establishment! Every member of my family thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Very few places get chicken scarpariello right, and they make the best, hands down. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want, if its not on the menu and they have the ingredients, they'll make it for you. read more

I love this restaurant. I walk there often with my 2 year old daughter (so I'm not sure why some reviews say it's a bad area. I have never had a problem). The wait staff is so kind to us. The bread comes out fast (keeps my daughter from getting cranky) and they treat us like family. The food is always delicious. I like supporting local businesses and Libretti's makes it easy. read more

Although food was good enough, the evening (90th birthday party) was ruined at the end by a red-headed waitress who insisted that they don't put the tip on the charge card. But there was an included $80+ as a tip - more than 20% - for a $385 meal for 13 - which with tip and tax was $485.56, paid in full, divided up amongst 3 families. The red head would not listen or even stop talking as I tried to tell her that the entire $485 was divided up unevenly amongst 3 siblings. Could not get word in. She just would not stop to listen to the reality. I had worked with another on the staff to pay the bill -- without even fighting the outrageous tip. Wish I had taken the entire tip back. Ended up stomping out, since 2 of the grandchildren had a train to NY and barely made it. I have never in my entire life yelled at a waitress. Ruined my night, my husband's, my children's and probably the others as well. Still don't know or care if she was just trying to get more money from my sister-in-law or was just lacking in intelligence. But their business would be far better without her. read more

One of my top 3 WORST meals ever! They have smashed so many tables in so close together you can not eat without bumping into the person behind you... The place is so loud and filled with obnoxious screaming people who need to be seen you can not have a conversation with the person next to you .... I ordered the lasagna and it was cold on the outside and hot on the inside, (hmm, microwaved maybe?) and so bad we could not eat it... The manager did take it off the bill, but it did not make up for the over-dressed salad, the eh calamari, and the beyond average pasta swimming in too much sauce... I would say this place has had its day... find someplace else! I feel totally ripped off and I need to go take aspirin. read more

What's going on? This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Unfortunately something has changed. We came in to eat one early Tuesday evening. Restaurant seemed pretty empty. We were taken to our table and a few moments later our server came. She started us off with our drinks. Later, she took our order and left. When our app came I was very excited because I thought I would be tasting a very delicious food that I love to eat here. Wrong. She got it wrong. We asked for HOT and it was NOT. I just shrugged it off and awaited our food. Everything took forever to come. We waited so long for our entrees. I had Salmon and it was amazing as always! The bread was hit and crispy. Drinks were well made. Unfortunately I felt like service was not. Too many inappropriate conversations going on. Server was drinking iced coffee from a table near ours. I could hear how they laughed and made jokes. While we spoke they chimed in on our private conversations. Felt weird. I will be back again and hopefully different servers are available. Management please monitor your servers. Monitor your kitchen. We waited for so long we were starving! Well...not literally. read more

Been here forever and a good, not fancy red sauce Italian place. Always consistent and never changes. While certainly not the best place to go for Italian always comfortable and enjoyable read more

Great restaurant. Enjoyable atmosphere. Excellent wait staff who gave good recommendations. Loved the veal librettist. Reasonable prices. Pasta was tasty. Bread was just ok...strange giant loaves with little flavor. At the end of the meal as we walked out owner greeted us to find out how we like it. Nice touch. Best thing was they had singing in the bar and the amateur singer was great. Will be back soon. read more

Have been going to the is restaurant for years. It has totally gone down hill. What you see is what you get as far as food, ambience, staff and location. The food was just average and way over priced. The ambience has not changed in over 20 years that I have been going there. Well the staff is much like the neighborhood, inner city and low class. Will do just about anything for a tip. read more

I Love Librettis..the best old fashion unpretentious Italian restaurant! around..the food is great, librettis has some of the best sauces there are to be found in any resturant .. the Veal Sorrentino in a lite red sauce always delicious.. or the Pork Chops in a brandy sauce with mushrooms one of my favorites. The Zuppa di pesce is one the best I have ever had the lobstertail is sweet and moist and the shrimp very tasty the sauce is so good enjoy this dish over pasta just fabulous!! ..so many choses on the menu and the specials are always well thought out with fresh new food concepts , you can't go wrong. also (this restaurant) will make something you desire (To Order) if you ask... The atmosphere is casual..yet can be even elegant at times.(its a restaurant not a pizzeria). the bar is a warm and friendly place to sit and have a cocktail, yet a lot of fun too!! especially on a Fri and Sat nite..M.C. Pat. hosts a Karaoke party and everyone gets involved..its usually an unexpected and welcoming enjoyable evening. Weekend nites at librettis are some of the best times you will ever have!! Come alone and your bound to make some new friends, bring a party and everyone has a blast .. read more

One of my favorite Italian restaurants, ever. Food is excellent, portions are big - my favorites are the Chicken Valentino (SO good!) and the Chicken Arrabiata. ok, so the place has been here for ever and I've been going (coming) here since i was a little boy. Except for a few and I really do mean a few missteps over the years, the food is very good, service always good, and if you want privacy, there is a nice room. read more

First: the setting. Dirty-looking asbestos ceiling tiles and mirrored walls sorely need a makeover; our white tablecloth was some sort of thin semi-synthetic material with black holes burned through it. Place was not empty -- obviously some regulars love it (nobody under 35), that's why we decided to try it, the Yelp reviews. What a mistake! The food: dismal. Shrimp cocktail was straight from 1970: four shrimps hooked over the edge of a stainless steel faux champagne glass!! The Capellini alla Miguel was pretty tasteless, a watery sauce with prosciutto not cooked in the sauce but dropped in -- in dry chunks that were not even separated. Probably the mushrooms were also just tossed in. The salad greens came out of a bag, the tomato was unripe, and its black olives were the cheapest type canned in brine; the dressing was acid enough strip paint (cheap vinegar?): completely unappetizing and inedible. The warm bread on the table was delicious and a faggioli (white-bean) tostino was tasty with garlic. The veal was OK -- over $20 and with nothing with it -- you have to order all sides. We couldn't wait to get out of there and we will never go back. Can only imagine this place survives because it is licensed and it runs as a banquet hall. Run a mile -- or if you run 12 you will be in Manhattan and have thousands of excellent restaurants to pick from. read more
