This would have been a 5 star , but whomever the bartender was he was HORRIBLE!! Worst ever. Didn't want to speak. Then when he did was rude. Didn't know how to make a Manhattan. It's a whiskey bar!!! Then wouldn't run my credit card more than once. 100% rude. Plus charged more than price book said. Will not be back. Only because of this uninterested to serve, crappy barkeep! This is the perfect place to come try new whisky because the price is right. They have a massive collection of scotch organized by three-ring binders, and tons of other varieties as well. The service is laid back, as is the decor. The patrons are a mixed crowd- all friendly. I met three strangers who were also there alone that night and we had a heck of night playing darts and drinking. I will say the drinks are super strong, so if you'd like to taste your alcohol, might be better to grab a beer instead. read more

Been coming here for a decade and it will always be a staple. I can wear a dress or sweats and feel comfortable. Not too many places can do that. Everyone here is nice and the drinks are wonderfully strong and worth the money, I promise you. Great little bar! They have a phenomenal selection of craft beers. The bartenders are very friendly and helpful. The selection of beer is so big it can be overwhelming. The bartenders are very good about helping you choose something you will like and let you sample. They don't offer food, but I believe they are expanding and adding a kitchen eventually. Mark the bartender was an asshole. I bought a tall mixed drink and he told me there was a minimum to use a debit card then he walks off before i can ask what the minimum is. I catch his attention again and try to see how much i need to spend, he says my drink is 5$, then he walks off again while i'm trying to talk to him. He goes to the other end of the bar to pour drinks and stays there. I keep looking at him to get his attention. The guy was a rude little bitch. I finally left my drink there. What a dork. Amazing selection of beer. Very laidback atmosphere. Pretty decent selection of whiskey. Not a cocktail kind of bar.

Good little shot hole bar. Every kind of bourbon you could imagine and plenty of beers on tap. Could have got the large bartender to clean up the messes versus leaning in the counter but hey it's a bar! Drink a couple more it won't matter! read more

Wow.....was my initial reaction. How did I drive past this place so many times and not know what was in it? I would have never known if it wasn't for my quest to find an open bottle of Macallan #3. I called around town to the places that were known to carry a large selection of scotch. Not one of them had what I was looking for.....although they were all friendly enough to recommend somewhere else. I was finally lead to the Library Pub. I called and was told "yes, we definitely have Macallan #3". I didn't know what to expect when I walked through those doors, and was pleasantly surprised. It was small and quaint. One guy at the bar reading a book and two guys at a table talking business. I turned to my left and there it was....the largest selection of scotch I have ever seen......I'm talking rare drams......those that only an enthusiast would know about. The bartender sat the bottle I was looking for in front of me.....poured it up......then gave me a quick history lesson on the owners philosophy behind what I was witnessing. I had one drink.....I had found what I wanted/needed in that moment. I had my drink in peace .......reflected on my day and was on my way. The Library Pub is special......not because there happened to be a customer there comfortable enough to read a book at the bar. Not because people obviously handle business there. Not because they most likely will have what you need. Not because the bartender understood that I needed that drink and I needed a moment to self reflect. No.......the Library Pub is special because it does what a Pub is supposed to do. I left there.....back to my life......ready to continue the fight. read more

This is one of the greatest places to have a drink. I was a regular for about 7 years until I had kids and moved away. Mark the owner is an expert on his whiskeys (the largest selection in the state of Nebraska and the 2nd largest selection of scotch) the last time I was their he also had about 40 beers on tap which were constantly changing. "Beer drinkers aren't brand loyal, they are section loyal" he would say. So there was always something new to try. Beyond whiskey and beer there was rum and tequila etc. Mark had a large selection of everything. The name of the bar is a good metaphor for the huge selection and the people seemed smarter too, and from all walks of life. I've had more intelligent philosophical and political convos there than anywhere and of course Mark will always teach those willing to learn about whiskey (but I was more of a beer man). Mark the owner also always wears a Hawaiian shirt always and there is a cool story as to why. You can ask him and he will tell you. I won't spoil it. He is kind of an a**h*** btw, but that is what is magical about the place. In spite of himself his bar is among the greatest in town if not the best. And I mean that objectively not subjectively. This bar is not in an ideal location. And because of this the people that go there unanimously have come out of their way to be there. That makes it special to me and everyone else that enjoys it.
