Fun place in Benson to grab a pint, or surprisingly a good cocktail! There aren't many soccer (football) bars in Omaha but this is a good one. Except, we found out, during CWS week when all they play are the games. Not surprising, but a little bummed they weren't playing the KC Current game we tried to catch at a few places. We came on a Saturday evening and must have come during happy hour, because when my husband came back with the beers, he had a stack of quarters they gave him to play the games they have there. It's a happy hour special, I guess, a cool touch! They have Whisky Wednesday with 25% off whisky drinks, and a surprisingly big selection of some good whisky and bourbons. Service was a bit slow even though there weren't many people there, but only one bartender and people were ordering cocktails so it took her longer. I like the little booths set up with your own TV, this would be a great place to come watch a soccer match! read more

I have been searching for a pub to go and watch soccer matches at, and St. Andrews is a fantastic place. I only wish I found it sooner before leaving Omaha. Great people to watch matches with. With so many bars in Benson now, all hosting craft beers and hipstery Benson vibes, it's probably hard to pick a favorite these days. In my opinion, Benson is the place to do a bar crawl (sorry Old Market). St. Andrews is next to Beercade, and on the main part of the Benson strip. It was really busy when we entered (bar #3 on our stops) at around 11pm on a Saturday. There was lot of loud music, games of darts going down, and TVS tuned to SNL and ESPN. I tried an apricot saison that I enjoyed a lot. The beer menu is a mix of unique things like my saison, but you can get a tall boy Coors here as well. No food or food menu that I saw, but friendly enough staff and $4-5 beers which is fair. This bar is not insanely unique from others on the strip, but proposes another watering hole for Benson visitors to get their fill of fun. read more

I enjoy St. Andrew's Pub on occasion. It's a great spot to grab a seat at the bar and watch the big game. Plus it's usually not too crowded during weeknights, which is a bonus for me the older I get. There are a few giant TVs plus smaller TVs at each of the booths. Ask the bartender to turn it to whatever game you want to watch and they'll usually be able to accommodate. If you're into golf or soccer, this is a prime spot to watch both. I mean it's named after the birthplace of modern golf (St. Andrew's in Scotland) and they're the only place in Omaha I've ever seen Tennent's ("Scotland's favorite pint") on tap. Plus plenty of Scotch and whiskey to keep your mouth wet. However, when this place gets crowded on the weekends, I've found it quite unpleasant. Loud, drunk people everywhere just going nuts. But that's anywhere in Benson these days. read more

Definitely the spot to catch a game! I frequented this pub a lot this June during the Copa America tournament. This pub has a great atmosphere and an extensive beer selection. I had a couple different ciders there that I've never tried before and really enjoyed them. The booths have small TVs in them that you can set to which ever game you prefer. There is also a couple large screen TVs above the bar that are always playing some games (and the Olympic trials while I was there). I had never been to St.Andrews Pub before June, but I quickly came to love it! I came for as many games as I could during the Copa America tournament. I came to really enjoy this pub and think it is a great place to meet up with friends for an evening drink. They also have some drink specials during the week. read more

This is a great place to go to watch football (soccer) matches that aren't shown elsewhere. They even open quite early on most any day if there is a following for a team. Example: Liverpool vs. Man United, 6:25 a.m. on a Saturday. The beer list is decent, there are TVs at the tables, and a couple larger screens near the front. When busy, though, it's not always easy to get line of sight to the match you want to watch. Sound on the matches is also very low volume, so pretty much nonexistent for the duration, unless there are very few patrons in the place. Love coming here for Match Day! read more

After running up and down the drag in Benson getting dinner and drinks we thought we would jump into St. Andrew's as it appears this spot is new. Located right next to Beercade it seemed like it would be cozy. Normally I like bars that I haven't tried and this quickly became obvious that I wasn't going to like it. It does have a thing or two going for it. The individual 20+ inch tv's at each table look just about the right size and you can still have drinks and conversation without it being overpowering. The beer selection is also slightly above par as well. They even have an exclusive beer just for them. They decor is a mix of warmth and hooligan type stuff with pictures of golf courses and soccer scarves hanging about. The bathroom was pretty nice, too. Let's talk about service now because it appears nobody has ever explained what that is to the bartenders that were on. A couple of beers and some cocktails were all that we ordered and that was the easy part. There was a slight group of people, but most anybody could handle that. What they couldn't handle was the volume control. The crappy rapper that was blaring over the system was too much. I like hip hop/rap, but this was unbearable and instead of realizing the crowd was leaving because it was hard to hear each other, they turned it up some more. One of the bartenders was sitting on the counter with his feet up on the other side. Gross. I hate flip flops and other peoples toes. I also don't think that the doorman at any bar should be drinking beer while at work. That is something you do before or after your shift. I realize this is a new place, but c'mon guys, get your stuff together and make it professional. There is a lot of competition in Benson and it felt like the Netherlands/Spain World Cup match. This is what every town needs, a bar friendly to the soccer community. Always accomidating to various tv schedules and great prices on their spirits. Not to mention a great selection. The staff is always cool and laid back. They know what they are selling and have no problem trying to help you find the right beverage. Each booth has small tv so you can see the action without having to turn towards one of the larger ones on the walls. Another cool feature is that during certain occasions, they bring in turf and cover the floor with it to provide something truly unique. Only thing this place is missing is a food menu but you would be crazy to let that stop you from checking this place out. read more

This is our favorite bar in Benson! It's always laid back and a fun atmosphere. They have an incredible liquor and beer selection and FREE hot dogs and pretzels for customers. Nice little 'English' pub in Benson. I have been here on a couple occasions, and it is a nice little 'English' pub. It's a small place, but has a couple larger TV's as well as small individual TV's at the booths along the wall. True to form, while we were there, they had soccer on and a group of fans cheering on their futbol team. They have a nice assortment of beer, and the bartender was friendly. I have been to St. Andrews Pub a few times now, when I go to all the bars in benson I do skip this one sometimes just because it gets so busy, it gets overly crowded, and I've seen it get pretty crazy. It is a good bar, and they make drinks at a fair price! They do have a few booths and tables and plenty of TVs to watch! They have everything from cheap beers to an extensive scotch and whiskey selection. On Thursday's St. Andrews is ran by a dude named Ben who I'd put up there with any fancy cocktail bartender in Omaha. Dude plays everything from new hiphop to Ween to whatevers clever all the while having Impact wrestling on tv. And it works. To prevent another long winded review from being posted I'm just going to sum up this review by saying you're doing yourself a disservice by not venturing up to St. Andrews on Thursday's. If you love soccer, scotch and whiskey you will love St. Andrews... Unfortunately I dislike all three and guess what I still love St. Andrews! I was told by some friends I should check out this bar in Benson. I made the trip and I was definitely not disappointed! The staff was super friendly and answered my 10,000 questions about the extensive selection of beers on tap. The atmosphere was very chill and the music was great! I came back a few weeks later and the bartender even remembered me, I immediately felt like I was on an episode of Cheers. Anyway, you should definitely check this place out. If you're a fan of being surrounded by bro's then this is the place to be. In a room of about 40 people, there are 6 women here, including myself. But beside the crowd, I was not a fan of the bartender. Being from Denver, I wanted to try a local beer. The Tailgate Red caught my eye so I ordered it "the red ale." The bartender looked up and down at the taps and then watched the rotating beer menu looking for the beer I ordered. After a couple of minutes, he finally asked, "which one?" I gave him the name and he apologized but I would hope that you would know the name of the only red ale on the menu. My friend then ordered a Long Island Iced Tea. A bar that tries hard to have you believe it's a soccer bar with some soccer decor and early opening for English soccer games. It's a great concept, so I continue to give this place a chance. But after multiple disappointments, it's time to admit this is no soccer bar. Too many times I have arrived hoping to catch a soccer game and have found the bar either unable or unwilling to accommodate. When trying to watch a Gold Cup game, the bartender was not able to find it, confidently saying, "We have every soccer channel you could have. If we don't have it, it's not on tv." The game was on bein Spanish, a major soccer channel, and not a difficult one to obtain. In the summer I organized a group of 8 or friends to watch the U.S. National team play in the Gold Cup. My thought was that a soccer bar would be a fun environment to watch the national soccer team. This logic proved incorrect when we arrived and were told that the game would be on mute because that night was trivia night. Rather than canceling trivia for the night, the soccer bar chose to have soccer fans watch in silence. That in and of itself wouldn't be too bad, but while enjoying the game, we were asked to be quiet ourselves while the microphoned trivia leader was speaking (yes, we were shushed). The last straw was today, when some friends and I were planning on watching the last day of the Spanish soccer League (one of the best, if not the best soccer league in the world). Since our faith in St. Andrew's was low, my friend called the night before to confirm they would be open for the games. The bartender confirmed that they would be. But, when we arrived today, the bar closed. St. Andrew's is probably a fine place to watch English soccer and share stories about that one time you studied abroad in London. But if you're looking for soccer, you're probably just as well asking for a game at your neighborhood sports bar. read more

This is a great addition to Benson. We have been there on a few occasions and have never been let down. They have a good craft beer selection and the staff has always been super nice and helpful. With all the bar games to offer in Benson no one has had foosball, well now they do. They have 2 nice tables that remind me of my college days. I cannot wait until football season(American football) so we can watch all the games there on Sundays. There is also a quaint and nice patio outback. read more

Beer selection was good but I'll likely never go back because one of the staff was so rude. They didn't have a door guy working so my group and I just sat down. However, shortly after this guy comes up and instead of nicely asking to see our ids he told us we had to go to the bar and show our ids if we wanted a drink. Some of my friends weren't drinking so they didn't go to the bar. He came back over and yelled at us like we were some high school kids trying to sneak in. Creating an inviting bar is clearly not a priority for them. If you're going to be that crazy about ids get a door guy. read more

Don't bother if your group is over 5/6. We had 10 in our group and the too-cool-for-school staff was simply overwhelmed. We ended up next door after getting a very funny lecture regarding "preferred" sports on the TV's. We are still laughing. Probably really cool for true soccer fans in small groups. I went to St. Andrews for the Germany v France game. It was a fantastic atmosphere for a non-US world Cup game. The service was good and I was able to order drinks quickly without waiting. The selection of beers was fantastic. It's great to finally have a soccer exclusive bar in Omaha. I am sure they will have EPL but hope they get the MLS package as well. Nothing like getting your drink thrown out bc you were in the bathroom and then getting made fun of by the bar staff because you were "too long" in the bathroom. Dont bother if you actually want to have a nice drink in Benson. I would suggest Krug Park or 1912 if you dont want to waste your money. read more
