I cannot say enough great things about Paddys. A local place with plenty of history with a great family running the place. The waiters and waitresses always take very good care of us when we go there. They have plenty of great specials of food and drinks, games for the youngins and my all time favorite BINGO on Saturday nights where they give our gift cards for local restaurants. Never a bad idea to support local! There are so many great items on the menu that its hard to have a favorite and I always find myself getting different items everytime I go there. Ive been a customer at Paddy's for many years. And I was a customer at McFlys before that. And this is by far the worst experience I've had. The food was good, but that's the only redeeming part of this review. Half of my 6 top came in at 7:30. Decently busy, but the dinner rush is just dying down. By 8:00 there were less than 25 people in the entire building. We sat down. Ordered drinks. 3 waters. Had them within 3 minutes. 5 minutes later I ask to order some apps. The table orders 2 different apps. The rest of the 6 top gets there 7:50. They order apps at 7:55 along with their drinks. 8:05 we all order our meals. 8:15 all of our apps come out at once. Even the original orders that were put in 12-15 minutes before the 2nd orders of apps were put in. And from 8:15 until 8:50 we don't see or hear an update on our food. We all ordered 12 wings and one person ordered a pizza. 3 orderes of fries. And a basket of chips. First thing out is the pizza at 8:50. Then a single basket of fries and basket of chips 8:55. Then a half of one persons wing order, then a random basket of fries at 8:58. The other half order of wings at 9 and by 9:05 the rest of the food was there. Not so much as a sorry it's taking so long. Or a can I get you guys anything? (Except for those who had beer, they kept asking if they wanted more beer) every water refill had to be asked for. Mind you. By 8:45 there were 3 tables left in the entire restaurant, 4 including ours. And they all had thier food and finished before we even seen ours. With 4 wait staff, and atleast 4 in the kitchen. 50 minutes for 60 wings 2/3 baskets of fries a basket of chips and a pizza. And not one single acknowledgment of the unacceptable amount of time. I'm not sure I'll ever go back. Or recommend it to anyone. Extremely disappointed. read more

Convenience Fee: 3.5% $12 minimum purchase to use a CC Y'all... FINALLY found a crab rangoon pizza, that's thin-friggin-crust. For $12 ($16 usually) we couldn't beat it and HAD to try theirs. When I tell you it's perfect... I literally mean, perfect. Cream cheese to dough ratio was on point! Plenty of those fancy crispies, chives, sweet chili sauce, and each piece a decent mouth full of ALL the goodness. Naturally, the Reuben Burger because well... they boast about their Reuben meat, and they claim they're also the best. Came out piping hot, steamy corned beef, melty swiss, and a touch of tang. Typical frozen same size pattie of beef evenly cooked inside, with your average toasted rye (didn't taste like rye) bread. I heard it was "really good"! Now those hand made onion rings... definitely leave something to be desired. Disappointed that they came out damn near burnt; smelled and even worse, tasted burnt. They should've never left the kitchen like that. Ranch didn't even help in dimming down the taste, sadly. Top O' The Morning Burger WITH egg, duhhh. Again with the piping hot! The typical frozen pattie with all the fixings! The egg was done perfectly, the bacon was excellent, pickles, mayo, lettuce and tomato made each bite even better. Had I been quick to think I should've asked to see if they'd swatch some peanut butter on the bun, but maybe next time. Opted for fries, even though by default each meal came with chips. I was tickled pink when I saw they had Kindaiders Jalapeño Ale on tap! Don't mind if I do get a drinky-drink of that. Would we go again? Probably not. read more

Came to Paddy's at around 4:40 pm for early dinner. Now they had customers but it wasn't like they were super busy my any means. Plenty of staff working as well so not sure what happened. We waited over 10 mins between getting our drinks and having someone take our order. My sons wanted fries as a starter as they were getting pizza. So we said we would like to start with fries. Placed our food order. 35 mins goes by and still nothing. Meanwhile a group of men who came in well after we ordered started getting their appetizers brought to them. ?!!!! Few more minutes pass and the pizza comes. Then probably 5 mins later my burger and wife's buffalo wrap. Now the buffalo wrap they forgot to put the Buffalo sauce in it. I asked if jalapeños could be cooked with my mushroom Swiss burger they said yes. Nope! Cheese wasn't melted and cold picked jalapeños just tossed on top. This was truly not a good experience. Went here for the NE bowl game. We had a pepperoni pizza, Mac and cheese bites and biscuits and gravy. The pizza was great, super thin and crispy. The Mac and cheese bites looked and tasted like Kraft and the biscuits and gravy were great. The problem really was the service. Yes they were busy but the servers continually walked by our table to help others around us and it was only when we stopped them that they helped. A little frustrating when we just wanted a drink refill or to order again. I would come back but not during a busy event. read more

Stopped for dinner last night with my parents and we had Tamara as our server - she was great! She was super busy running around but provided great service and is super nice and friendly. The food was amazing as always and everything is reasonably priced. Since this is one of the best bar and grills in Omaha, I had to purchase a T-shirt. Most of the reviews I read prior to choosing Paddy McGown's were based off GH delivery orders, which is exactly where we got our fix. GH issues aside (we've used them a handful of times now, and our order always ends up being pushed about 30-40 mins past the original time), we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! On the menu for the night was a double St. Patty's melt burger, served with housemade chips and an order of leprechaun strings (aka fried pickles). This burger was HUGE. My husband and I split it, and we were both terribly stuffed by the end. The burger was delicious and fresh: what you'd expect from a restaurant serving up Omaha steaks burgers. A large part of my choosing Paddy McGowns this time around was to try the leprechaun strings... And they were a bit! Slightly spicy, and served next to a delicious sea of America sauce (housemade ranch). Definitely worth the splurge. All in all, I think it's safe to say we would order again, and we look forward to eventually visiting in person! another job well done by an Omaha restaurant crew! read more

Wow, food was great and Lisa was a fantastic server. During this visit, we all had different chicken sandwiches and all three were so good! The onion rings are perfect and the soup of the day was a creamy, delicious jalapeño popper soup that was full of shredded chicken, perfectly cooked bacon! It was so good! Went to try the reuben egg rolls which exceeded my expectations. The sauce accompanying the egg rolls was to die for. I had a pork tenderloin sandwich which was fine. I am very picky about my tenderloins and would have preferred a thinner pork, but it was tasty all the same. My companion had the Friday night special of chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy, which he said was outstanding. As far as ambience we went without thinking we went on a Friday during that March madness so it was loud and quite difficult to talk to my companion. I don't blame the bar for that though it's my mistake to go at that time, other than that I think it would be fine and all things being equal, the service was more than adequate. This is the first visit I have made to the actual brick and mortar location of Paddy McGowan's. Previously I have had delivery from there. We had lunch there recently and I was happy to see very few other diners since it was past lunch. I still prefer restaurants with lots of room between eaters so this was perfect for me. Bookguy got his usual portobello mushroom Swiss burger and I splurged with a BLT. Bookguy loves the mushroom burger here and has had it multiple times. It didn't disappoint. I usually have the veggie burger but decided a BLT would hit the spot better, which it did. Crispy bacon, just how I like it plus the tomato, lettuce and mayo. Bookguy had fries with his burger--good but not exceptional. I had house-fried chips with mine. It was a generous serving of chips, just a bit too salty to eat a lot of them, but they are really good. We started with the mac and cheese bites which is just that--deep fried battered chunks of mac and cheese. Delicious, especially dipped in ranch dressing. I also had a glass of vanilla bean infusion beer, perfect for my sandwich and chips. Since this is a neighborhood pub with great food, there's no doubt we will come here again. read more

If I could give a 0 star review, I would. Unsure if they hired an entirely new cooking staff or if they need to be re-trained/let go. I ordered a half pepperoni and half cheese this weekend. The half cheese was black and burnt to a black crisp. The pepperonis weren't flat on the pizza but thick and upturned. I had to toss the pizza in the trash when I got home. The entire thing was inedible. It was a very unfortunate situation as the pizza here used to be a go-to of ours. We will not be back but hope they improve for other future customers. read more

So if you come here expecting Mcflys, you wont get Mcflys, but it feels eerily similar. A fresh feel and a fresh coat of paint make this a fun little spot run by a great local entrepreneur family. (This is owned by the Dinkers, however its not a Dinkers establishment). That having been said I like this bar. So far I've tried about 2/3s of the soft open menu, and I've yet to get something that could dissapoint. The burgers are fabulous but not quite a Dinker, the pickle strings are crisp and flavorful, and the Irish nachos are fantastic. Dan (the owner) has said they will do corn beef and cabbage nights every 17th of the month which the sample of i tried was great as well. The craft beer selection is on par or above most lil divey bars that you're gonna find, and they've got all the domestics you'd expect. Word on the street is they're gonna bring back all you can eat taco nights too. read more

Loved it when it was McFlys. Been here twice and both times service is a joke. Tonight two of three bartenders argued with a guy about how many buckets he bought. Stumbled into this bar on a Wednesday for karaoke with a few friends. There wasn't too many people in there, very small, but cozy. My friend tried the burger and fries and it was delicious. Bathrooms are clean, with a full body mirror. They also have a super cool Jameson chandelier. Definitely a must see! read more

Rueben egg rolls! Wide variety of beers on tap. During shutdown they had some great cocktails to go. I'm a devotee for these three reasons.

So good! Popping in on St. Paddy's Eve my husband and I shared the Reuben egg rolls and blarney stones which were worth a trip back alone! The staff were all very nice even though you could tell they were preparing for a big party the next day. I had a pork tenderloin and side salad. The tenderloin went home because I was stuffed but I tried a bite before putting it in the box and it was delicious. My husband tried the crab Rangoon pizza which was good but not his favorite from others he has had. We definitely look forward to going back and trying other items and I plan on getting the appetizers to go occasionally because I haven't stopped thinking about the Reuben egg rolls read more

Ordered a reuben sandwich to go off Grubhub and added a side of fries instead of potato chips. My criteria for a reuben, my favorite sandwich, is as follows: -bread needs to be sturdy and flavorful (nice crunch too) - corn beef tender and juicy -swiss cheese melted perfectly -russian dressing across the sandwich -ideal amount of sauerkraut I believe Paddy's fulfilled all of these criteria, but my only caveat is a somewhat soggy bread most likely from the russian dressing and sauerkraut. I grew up in this neighborhood but I'd never been inside this building. For the life of me, I can't recall what it was before it was a bar. The odd thing about the building is that it has wood floors almost like a basketball court's floor. I had the Reuben. It was good but there are better ones in Omaha. What really irked me was that my beer was served in an unmanly chalice style glass that was not a pint and sure didn't look like 12 ounces. We went for the live Irish music session last night. Great atmosphere and wonderful music! They seemed overwhelmed with the amount of diners. We sat down and waited for 20 min and no one came to our table. It seemed like they had one waitress and one runner. I went to the bar to ask for menus and let them know we needed service. A bartender came over pretty quickly after that to take our drink orders. My husband asked for Smithwicks which is an Irish beer. We are in an Irish bar. She had no idea what he was talking about and seemed annoyed that he asked. The waitress was apologetic about our wait and our food was out quickly. I had the Reuben and it was great!! Awesome spot! Excellent food, great service, and very reasonable prices. So far I've had the fish and chips, portobello Swiss burger, steak sandwich, and steak salad. Went early on Friday evening and it wasn't very busy yet. Parking area is small but adequate. The decor of the interior isn't what you'd expect of an Irish pub. The walls are battleship grey. The tables and chairs are pretty much just like every typical diner across the US. The lighting is so dim that reading the menu was kind of difficult. The waitress attended to us in a fairly quick manner and was reasonably friendly. She apologized for the dim lighting while we placed our food orders. The reason we chose to visit was for the special ( corned beef and cabbage). I have to say that the corned beef was okay, the potatoes, carrots and cabbage were fantastic, the Irish potato soup was good and the chips were pretty good. Overall it was a good dining experience but the corned beef wasn't quite as good as I expected. We'll stop in again as the menu has lots of interesting items to try. read more

We went on a Tuesday night as a recon trip on behalf of our 33rd Street neighbors. We were immediately impressed by both the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the entire establishment. The menu has a number of items you would expect at a neighborhood pub, along with some special twists - one of the best reubens we have found in Omaha, which says a lot, and the rachel - which is constructed like a reuben but with smoked turkey. We also spotted reuben eggrolls on the menu, which one day a week appear to be just $1. What impressed me the most was this: a group of what ended up being about seven perhaps 75 year olds started coming in. At the sight of the first pair, our waiter started moving tables together. He then greeted them by name, asked the woman if she wanted her usual wine, fetched it and was ready with the next two people's beverages before they reached the table. He did this without ignoring us, the new people, and while monitoring other diners. The other waiter pitched in with refills as the group came in. We were impressed by both the staff teamwork and the hospitality. The waiter also took time to tell us a bit about the history and to invite us to stop in on the 17th of every month for corned beef and cabbage :) which we probably will do because of his invitation. PS the crinkle fries are served piping hot and whatever is going on with the potato chips, they are not boring. read more

I think that my expectations were too high. After reading these reviews as well as one in the Omaha World-Herald, I expected very good bar food. Unfortunately I ended up with what I thought was average bar food. Not bad but far from great. Maybe burgers aren't really there thing which is too bad given the connection to Dinkers just down the street. I do like it's proximity and the solid beer selection which even includes a few locals. Having just moved to the area a few months back, this was my first time but it won't be my last. I'll try it again and update my review if my opinion significantly changes. read more

Stopped in for lunch yesterday and I was not disappointed. We started with the Reuben Egg Rolls and they were very good. They were extra crispy, had a nice amount of corned beef and came served with a side of homemade thousand island dressing, which was also very good. I'm not a huge fan of thousand island, but this was creamy, had a mild flavor and was a nice balance for the egg rolls. For lunch I ordered the Pork Tenderloin sandwich. It was served with lettuce, tomato, pickles and mayo. The pickles were cold and crunchy and exactly how I like them on my sandwich. It was a good pork tenderloin and I would order it again. My mom ordered the Fish and Chips and she enjoyed hers as well. Our server was busy, but she made sure we were taken care of even it took her a little longer at times. She did seem to be the only one working and they had a decent lunch crowd. I follow them on Facebook and see they have a lot of different specials that always look pretty good, so I'll definitely be back to try some of their other menu items! read more

Randomly picked somewhere I haven't been before since an appointment brought me to the neighborhood. This place looked interesting enough. I tried something different for me by going with their Reuben and I wasn't disappointed. It was nice and juicy with great flavor... and gone before I expected. I went with onion rings instead of their homemade chips. They weren't dripping with fat like some places do and instead were more of a flour coating which still had good flavor. I'd order them again, too. It was a little sleepy for a lunch crowd. The place looked like it'd be fun at night. Can't wait to try some other dishes. read more
