One of our dogs was extremely fearful when we adopted her a few years ago. After a lot of work with multiple great dog trainers, play therapy, and eventually an SSRI, she improved a lot. I'm glad that at least he vomited them all as seen in an x-Ray and he only needed to take some tablets for his upset stomach. I also understand that we can get distracted while taking care of a puppy, but I didn't like the fact that I spent +$300 due to someone else's distraction and wasn't offered anything to compensate it somehow and rebuild my trust.
