We could not be happier with having Rachel care for our pup, Duncan. She has helped us tremendously in adjusting our dog to our work schedule. She is kind, caring and attentive. We love getting her updates and pictures when she comes to see Duncan. I would HIGHLY recommend Rachel to care for or walk your pet. read more

Rachel is a terrific dog-sitter and all-around caretaker of dogs - responsible, thoughtful and kind. She regularly looks after our two dogs (a 40-pound mini bernadoodle and a 12-pound cavapoo) whenever we are on vacation or when nobody is home for an extended part of the day. She takes wonderful care of them - meals, walks and play (she has a big yard). Our dogs are always excited to go to Rachel's - they love being with her and her family. And we love the regular photo updates she sends us! read more

Rachel's Pet Care - Dog Walkers Near Me

leaving your pet with rachel is akin to the peace of mind you experience when you leave your human child with close family. I know my shih tzu is going to be loved and so well cared for when he is with rachel. we've had the best experiences- so has our dog (who never wants to leave). rachel is our go to! there's nobody better. read more

The dog walkers she sent were fine but I cannot recommend this business because the owner is crazy. She doesn't except cash credit or check - only PayPal and she bugged me and bugged me about it - and then drop me because I didn't want to pay with PayPal. When was cash not used anymore? I guess she fired me because I didn't want to do the PayPal thing and I wasn't going to give her a bad review but then she got very petty and wouldn't send me back my keys which I think is just awful. There are less expensive dog walkers out there that are not so UPDATE She just added that she excepts checks. When I asked if I could pay via check she insisted that I drop it off at her apartment. I said Would mail the next day, which I did, but she couldn't resist sending me a text nudging me about whether I had. Yes I have my keys but only because I walked over and pick them up from her apt, after she reneged on her initial agreement to mail them. I felt like she got pissy because I was no longer a client. And I just had major back surgery two months ago. I don't normally write reviews like this but I had hoped this would be a service that would help me, not add to my stress. I just thought it was unprofessional and not nice - and it's a lot of money. Wag.com is the same price or less read more

I called in a pinch when I had less than 24 hours to find someone to care for my dog, Roxie. Rachel got back to me right away to let me know that she could accommodate my needs and her pricing was VERY fair. Blaze met with my dog and me that night, was extremely professional and friendly. Roxie took to him very quickly which was a great sign because she can be timid, especially with guys. While I was away, I received updates, photos, and videos of my dog - on her walks, sleeping, and playing - all of her favorite things. When I came home, Rox was clearly happy and well cared for, my apartment was in great order, and my packages were even brought inside. My experience with Rachel's Pet Care was way above and beyond my expectations. I felt just as comfortable and happy knowing my dog was in their care as I do when I leave her with my mom.... maybe even more comfortable because I knew Rox was with professionals! If you need a walker or a sitter, I highly recommend calling Rachel. read more

I have been using Rachel's service now for several years. I have used both her own home and my home for pet sitting, and I have used her walkers for occasional and weekly walking. Rachel is easy to reach and extremely reliable. I have never had an issue or a glitch with scheduling, keys, etc. My labradoodle gets plenty of exercise and I get lots of feedback while I am away. When I returned from my recent Christmas trip, the apartment was spotless. I highly recommend her services. read more

We have known Rachel since our now 9-year old standard poodle (Ollie) was just several months old and have always been happy with the service provided by Rachel and her team of walkers. Rachel is responsive and communicative and has a great team of kind, attentive walkers. In the beginning we relied on Rachel for vacation coverage and today we use her service for daily weekday walks and occasional overnights. We receive a daily recap of walks and updates with photos when he stays overnight. Ollie loves Rachel and her family and his regular walker, Cate, and we always feel comfortable knowing he is going to be safe, well-cared for and loved. read more

Rachel and her team are top-notch. I can't recommend them enough. I've used Rachel's Pet Care for nearly a year and have had only excellent experience with them. First, I never thought I would be one of *THOSE* people who had a dog walker, but I work sometimes unpredictable hours. I wanted to give my 4-year-old Shiba some regularity to his routine, in addition to our morning and evening marathons together. A friend referred me to Rachel and they started the walks right away. The walkers generally send you a text and often a photo/video of your pup after the walk, which may seem insignificant but is actually a really great plus. My dog is only 25 lb. but like most shibas is a little adventurous on the leash, but they have had no problem handling him. The result? I have a much happier dog. And I have piece of mind knowing that he's being walked by someone both he and I know and trust. read more

I have used Rachel's pet care twice now for in-home dogsitting for my two pups. Both times Cindy took care of them and she was wonderful. Rachel is super professional and it's quite easy to get everything worked out, key drop off etc. During the entire time we were gone, Cindy sent email or text updates with pictures of furry friends. They looked super happy in every picture. I haven't used Rachel's pet care for any other services like dog walking or pet sitting not in our home. I would highly recommend the service, as it's super reasonably priced for the amount of care you receive. read more

Rachel and her corps of Pet-ops helped me out bigtime. I had an emergency and could not walk my dog for two weeks. Rachel assembled a team of walkers to cover the schedule, quickly and professionally. Each person was great to work with: timely, pleasant and caring for the dog. I couldn't ask for better. read more

We have been using Rachel's Pet Care service for cat sitting for many years. Rachel is very responsive to requests, and has gathered an absolutely fabulous group of sitters who are delightful to work with. I go away relaxed, knowing that my cats are in the best of hands and come home to happy, well-cared for kitties. Can't ask for better than that! read more

We just starting using Rachel for our elderly cat. She did a meet-and-greet to get to know him, and spent plenty of time understanding his needs. She sent texts with pix during her visits, and everything was neat and clean on our return. Best of all, our sweet old guy was happy and well cared for. read more

I would honestly give this service 10 stars if I could!! Rachel is beyond amazing!! My husband and I just moved from Los Angeles for his job, and did not have an apartment yet. We were staying with a friend who has a roommate that's allergic to cats. After a quick search, we found Rachel, who was available to take our cat, Harrison, for a few days. A few days has now turned into almost a week, due to our crazy apartment search, and Harrison is practically on vacation; getting loads of attention, treats, and sleeping in Rachel's bed. Not only is Rachel giving us text/phone call updates, but she is also sending us the cutest photos of him just living it up! She even trimmed his nails!!! I would highly recommend her services! Your pet will be in the best hands. Thanks again, Rachel!!!! read more

We have been using Rachel's since we moved to the UWS and the attention is great both from our walker (same one everyday) and from Rachel. We have also had our dog spend a few afternoons with Rachel and our walker stay in our apartment while we were out of town for the weekend. Our dog is well cared for and apartment clean when we return. Prices are good and we receive pictures and progress texts every day. read more

Rachel and Paula are awesome! They are professional, friendly, & reliable. With each walk, I receive a pic and text of my puppy! Rachel is always attentive and gives lots of advice via texts. Highly recommended!! read more

We've been using Rachel and her crew for our cat sitting for over 5 years now. Rachel always is super responsive (I prefer to communicate via txt), and organizes both an expected and an emergency care quickly, trying to match up the same sitters that my cats already know and are comfortable with. She saved us from a number of tight spots when we had to take last minute trips over Thanksgiving and Xmas. Her sitters are wonderful and attentive, administer pill to one of my cats, and send the most adorable pictures and detailed reports from their visits. Rachel even proactively checks with me if my cats would need care over upcoming weekend, knowing my travel patterns. She really takes a large worry off my shoulders and takes care of our fury family members. read more

I can't recommend Rachel's Pet Care enough! A colleague referred me to them, as I travel frequently and want someone reliable, friendly and who does not just do "check the box" sitting. I have had Rachel, Blaze and Steph all sit my cats, and each time I am so thankful for their thoughtfulness. They send daily write-ups of their visits, including pictures of my kitties, which provides peace of mind that I have not gotten with other services. It is clear they all adore animals and take the time to really care for my cats. They are also very well organized, and have always been able to accommodate my often last-minute requests as work travel pops up. Their rates are extremely reasonable given the level of service received, and are definitely not the sky-high rates you usually see in NYC, either. Overall, I am so grateful I was referred to them, as they really are the first service I can put my trust in completely, and it is comforting to know my kitties are in such wonderful hands while I am gone. read more

I have a cat sitter that I have used the past year, but she was going to be out of town the weekend I needed a sitter and found Rachel's Pet Care. I contacted her through her website after finding good reviews for her on Yelp. Rachel got back to me right away, answering all of my questions. I've had trouble finding people to service Harlem, but Rachel's company does. She said she was pregnant so couldn't change litter boxes but that Michael would sit for Moxie while I was away. Both Rachel and Michael came to my house the weekend before my trip to give them my keys, meet Moxie, and get some directions about what I needed done. Michael and Rachel were both nice and personable. I felt comfortable leaving my keys with them. Michael sent me pictures of my cat while I was away, which I love. I would recommend this service! read more

I found Rachel's Pet Care because we had a terrible experience with a dog walker who was not coming to walk our dogs as agreed upon (a dog owner's worst nightmare!) We needed to find a walker rather immediately, and Rachel was so amazing. She met us on a Sunday, with two potential dog walkers en tow. They were all so amazing. Rachel asked questions that made her seem like an actual business owner, rather than someone who liked dogs and just decided to walk dogs. She's very thoughtful, intelligent, and its evident that she loves animals. Blaze and Steph were the two employees that she brought with her and I can't speak highly enough of each of them. Throughout the last 8-9 months, they have been nothing but PERFECTION! Steph & Blaze send me the cutest photos of them during their walks. ON TOP OF HOW AMAZING THEY ARE....one of my dogs (who happens to be 75 lbs and happens to live in a brownstone with tons of stairs) had ACL surgery which requires him to not go up/down stairs. Blaze, for the last 6 weeks, Mon-Fri, carries my dog down the stairs to go outside and then carries him back up the stairs. There are no higher praise I can give to someone than to allow them to such access to my children. I've also used Rachel's PC when we take vacations and I never felt guilty about leaving them for a second. Blaze, Steph and Rachel are like an extension of my family. If you are looking for the best, most loving care for your babies, you shouldn't waste your time worrying about if your babies are being cared for properly. Also, if you live on the UWS, I would suggest that you think twice about who you have caring for your pets. While I don't like to publicly reveal the dog walker that was defrauding us, I'm happy to tell you the name of the business/walker in a direct message. I have no idea if the particular walker is still employed at the business, but the owner didn't seem too concerned with the videos I had to prove that walker wasn't coming to take care of my dogs. read more

Arranging my cat-sitting with Rachel was a breeze. She was pleasant to talk to over the phone, friendly, and was enthusiastic about finding a sitter for Christmas. I knew of someone who used Rachel's Pet Care for their dog, so I knew they had a good reputation, but was thrilled when I saw their service first hand. Cindy visited my cat, Nicky, twice a day for two days. She always texted very sweet pictures of my little guy every time she came to visit. She updated me on his feeding, water, and litter box. She played with him too! My bus into town came back early, so I happened to show up while she was still there and my not-so-snuggly, very-active cat was rolling into her lap!!! AMAZING! Nicky loved Cindy so much, he was waiting at the door around feeding time the next morning, hoping she would come! I highly recommend Rachel's Pet Care. They truly love and understand animals. I would hire them again in an instant, should the need arise! read more

Rachel is hands down the best dog walker we have ever had, and our dog absolutely loves her! Just the mention of her name in our house sends our dog into tail wagging pure excitement! We have a 2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/ boxer mix named Gatsby that is about 55lbs, and Rachel has been walking him since he was 6 months old. Rachel is an extremely professional, trustworthy, and responsible dog walker. We receive daily text message updates and pictures of our dog on his walking adventures, which can include running, exercising, and play dates with other dogs that Rachel walks around around the neighborhood. It really brightens our day to receive these messages at work, and to know that he is in such good care with her. Rachel is always extra flexible and accommodating with any schedule adjustments or requests outside of our regular schedule. As part of Rachel's services she also offers weekly off leash excursions, where she takes dogs to an off leash park in Westchester. This has been a wonderful option for our dog who benefits greatly from the extra activity and socialization with other dogs. We have also utilized her overnight pet sitting services, which has been a great experience for both us and our dog. If you are searching for a dog walker on the upper west side, Rachel is without a doubt the best! read more

I am new to the area and I was looking for last minute pet sitting for my elderly dog. Rachel was super helpful and one of her dog sitters, Nathaniel, took care of my furry baby for three days. Nathaniel was awesome and and super observant. He texted me when he had questions and his questions helped me to know how observant and in tune he was with my dog. My dog is 14 years old with arthritis and he is deaf and has some vision issues. When I returned my dog was totally relaxed and hasn't seemed at all stressed about my departure. He wasn't even extra clinging as he usually is after I have been away. I will absolutely use Rachel's Pet Care again and I highly recommend them especially if you are concerned about leavening your pet! read more

We've used Rachel's services since we got Bristol, our boxer, as a puppy. We've used the walking services during the day while we work, sent Bristol on excursions, and have left Bristol with Rachel while we go away for multiple days. At one point, Rachel even took Bristol on vacation with her to the beach when the days we needed boarding coincided. I fully trust that Rachel and her staff have the best for my dog at heart-even when our puppy had a hard time getting housebroken :). Bristol is now a year and a half and we still rely on the quality care and flexibility that Rachel's Pet Care provides. I highly recommend her. read more

I rarely write reviews, but Rachel's Pet Care is so outstanding, it's worth the time to explain why everyone should be using her services. She's like family to us now. I first called her when I was considering getting a dog and wanted to line up a dog walker who could start immediately once we got one (my husband and I work full-time). We were 1st time dog owners, and not only did she answer all my crazy panicked questions patiently and completely, she actually referred me to a "dog matchmaker" - and Ally (the dog) - a 6 year old rescue terrier - is the love of my life. For Rachel's services - we have always had steady, reliable, honest dog walkers that we trust 100%. Ally gets daily walks and a lot of attention for a full hour - rain, sleet, snow - and we get funny email updates full of pictures and stories. As we have 2 cats, they often make it into the mix - and they get attention too! She has always been able to help us with last minute dog walking, dog boarding, and cat caring needs, at very fair, affordable prices. After a recent emergency out of state, she took Ally immediately, bought her more food when we ran out, and arranged for cat care for our cats. Not having to worry about our animals made all the difference. She goes above and beyond, to the point where we really feel like she's part of our animals' family. You couldn't find a better service, and the fact that it's a local start-up that she created and runs is even better. Yes I'm gushing. But you'll see - there's a reason. read more

I really can't say enough good things about Rachel's Pet Care!!! Leaving your pets in someone else's hands can be scary, but since we found Rachel's Pet Care, we haven't worried one bit. Any time we plan to go out of town for a long vacation or short weekend trip, we contact Rachel (who's super nice and professional), and she sets us up with the best sitters to stay in our home and watch our dog and cat. It couldn't be easier to arrange, and every sitter we've had - a dozen or so over the past three years - is extremely friendly, pleasant, smart and communicative. We've never had a problem in three years! They've all been great about sending frequent, detailed updates so we know our pets are being well cared for. The true test is when we come home though... both pets are at ease and not at all stressed. They're so calm and happy, it's amazing. This has not been the case with other sitters we've used in the past. We feel so lucky to have found Rachel! read more

I feel very lucky to have found Rachel and her pet-sitters. Since meeting Rachel close to a year ago, leaving town has become much more stress-free because I know that my pet is in good hands. My only lament is that I suspect my cat is somewhat disappointed when I return to town; he really seems to like his sitters from Rachel's Pet Care! read more

Rachel's best efforts set our dog back seriously and exacerbated some bad behaviors that we the owners had been working on for months. She left our dog alone with one other dog the first night with our knowledge for over 3 hours. We thought Herschel would be alright in the company of another dog. Clearly he was not. She subsequently reported that during her other absences the neighbors were saying Herschel seemed to be trying to knock down the bedroom door. Was the dog locked in the bedroom? She subsequently complained frequently about his behavior, particularly his barking, but made no effort to provide adequate supervision for our very stressed out dog. Rachel stayed in touch during our absence, and was dedicated to keeping our dog when we asked if we should make other arrangements during our absence. Still her efforts were counterproductive as evidenced by his subsequent extreme anxiety and behavior. read more

Rachel is professional and responsive to all concerns. I cannot thank her and Sam enough for the excellent care and affection lavished on my cat while I was away from home for longer than usual. Sam sent updates every day and it was great to know that my cat was getting such great care and attention. I highly recommend Rachel's Petcare and will definitely be calling on her service whenever I need a caregiver for my kitty. Thank you!! read more
