Was in a pinch and had to find an in-home cat sitter since our last go at boarding our cats at the vet's office went disastrously. Racquel and Alistair served our cats masterfully with a couple daily visits to wash the cat food dishes, freshen the water, check the litter box, and best of all some kitty play time. I've been using Cat Servants since 2017, when I needed someone to look in on my elderly cat, Snoop, while I went away for 10 days. Raquel was fantastic from the first meeting. She kept me in the loop while I was gone, sending multiple texts, pics and videos with each visit. My Snoopy was a little "standoffish" (read: a bitch), but Raquel always managed to coax her out and get her to play. On top of it, my bathroom ceiling collapsed while I was away (thanks 120-year-old plumbing), and she immediately let me know so I could take care of it from afar. I've used her several times since then, most recently over the holidays this year. Sadly, I had to say goodbye to Snoop in March , but now I have Kevin, and Raquel continues going above and beyond to make sure he gets the best care possible. She even brought him food from her own stash when he wouldn't eat the kind I had left him. (Cats, amirite?) Also, she's super flexible and accommodating. My plans changed while I was gone during Thanksgiving, and Raquel was able to roll with the punches, with no problem whatsoever. I would 100% recommend her and Cat Servants to anyone. read more

Alistair and Raquel are truly wonderful! Alistair has taken care of our kitties for years. The cats are brushed, played with, petted, litter scooped (or fully changed depending on what needed), fed, and area around cleaned with vacuum. My wife and I are rather stunned by all of the five-star reviews for Cat Servants as our experience was abysmal. I run a service oriented business myself and I would be mortified and endlessly apologetic if I provided a new client the atrocious level of customer service that I received from Raquel. The reason we reached out to Raquel was because of the stellar reviews and because she lived in our neighborhood. My initial conversation with her was promising, and we scheduled a time for her to come over and meet our cats. The day of the appointment she cancelled at the last minute without even an apology. We rescheduled for the following day, and she arrived an hour late, again without an apology. She then said her husband was running late (I presume she meant even later than she was) and told us she was going to wait for him in front of our building. After a few minutes I went outside to see what was going on, and she was gone. After waiting bewilderingly on my front stoop for several minutes, I checked my phone and saw a missed call from her. I called her back, and she said that her husband was running so late that they wanted to reschedule yet again so that they could both be there. Uh...yeah no, I let her know that we would be making other arrangements. Raquel and her husband were completely unprofessional and disrespectful of our time and didn't even seem to care as if they felt they were doing us a favor. As that was the level of service they provided to us, it didn't inspire any confidence whatsoever in the service they would provide our cats. You stood in our kitchen, where our cats food bowls are and you looked in our back room where their litter box, litter, water fountain etc. are. We then talked about how shy Nyx was and that it was unusual for Opie to not be in the kitchen with us as he is very extroverted and social. I then said I would try to fetch him which prompted my "disappearance" into my office, for a very brief moment, in order to try to coax him out so you could meet him. As far as my wife not talking to you, she, like I, was shocked that you didn't even bother to apologize after keeping us waiting for over an hour after cancelling on us last minute the day before. Did you try talking to her? Maybe starting with a simple "Hey, I'm sorry I was so late". I think its fair to say that most people wouldn't feel inclined to engage in light banter with a person who seems oblivious to why such a simple courtesy would be warranted. The reason we didn't become a "client" of yours is because before we could even get to that point the customer service you provided us was/is horrendous. I came across the Cat Servants website when I was looking for last minute pet sitting for my two cats at my apartment in Hell's Kitchen, and emailed to inquire about rates. I received a reply right away. I was blown away by the prices- not only was the per day rate significantly lower than competitors, but I was even offered 15% off my first booking. Racquel came out to my apartment to meet my cats before I left on my trip. She was flexible and came at a time that worked with my busy work schedule. The whole experience was extremely professional- she brought copies of all paperwork proving that the company was bonded and insured and provided a list of references. She asked many questions to learn exactly how I cared for my cats so that their routine would not be too disrupted while I was away. During my 10 day trip, I received detailed emails every day telling me what the cats were up to including several pictures of the cats. She changed and washed the litter box, made sure their food and water bowls were cleaned and full, and overall just pampered my cats. Racquel even offered to go buy more food for my cats when my supply was running low. I felt completely reassured and guilt-free during my trip because I knew my cats were being so well taken care of! This peace of mind is truly priceless- I am blown away that I was able to get such unbelievable service at such a low price. Best of all, when I came home from my trip, my cats acted as if I had never ever left. Usually when I am gone for even short amounts of time it will really throw off their behavior for awhile, but they were so well taken care of it's like they never even knew I was gone! When I met with Racquel to get back my keys and make the payment she even brought complimentary bags of treats for my cats! I could not have had a better experience with Cat Servants. I have to start out by saying that I have never written a Yelp review but created an account JUST so I can write an outstanding review about Raquel and Cat Servants. This is my second time using Cat Servants and I could not be more pleased with the high level of care. The first time was in Sept 2014 when I went away on a business trip. I called Raquel and her and the women who would come check on my cat once a day came to my UES apartment and introduced themselves to me and my cat. I felt more then comfortable knowing that they would come daily to check on him, feed and play with him. I received daily updates via email and text with photos of my happy kitty. Most recently I left for a 10 day trip to Europe and this time opted to leave my cat with Raquel at her home while I was away. I could not be more pleased with the level of care and service she provided. She went above and beyond to make sure my cat was comfortable and happy the entire time I was away by preparing a special place for him in her home, buying him extra toys, and providing ample playtime to make sure he was kept happy. I received emails with TONS of happy kitty photos that assured me he was doing well and enjoying his vacation too! I also must say as a first time cat owner myself, Raquel is SO knowledgeable about the appropriate care and health of cats and has taught me many things I did not know and am grateful to have learned. I give Raquel my HIGHEST recommendation to anyone who is looking for the best cat sitter in NYC. Honestly, you will never find anyone better then her. We could not be happier with Raquel!! We messaged her last minute and she was so so accommodating for a weeklong trip. She obviously cares so much about animals, and made us feel so much better about having to leave our little one! She sent daily updates on her time with snowie (our cat), and obviously went out of her way to make sure our cat felt loved and entertained! Moreover, she is very honest and reliable, at an extremely fair rate. One of our friends was supposed to feed her in the morning and she hadn't, and Raquel picked up on that and let us know and made sure she was fed!
