One of the very best companies I have ever used. Jake installed our mini split heat pump earlier than requested. He finished in half a day and all appeared to be good. Once it got hot we started using the unit more and found that it leaked to the inside. Jake came out twice to trouble shoot the problem and fix. However, it still leaked. Jake had exhausted all his fixes, so he ordered me a new unit. He removed the malfunctioning unit and installed the new one, all under warranty. Works perfect now. I really tried to give this company a chance, but at this juncture, there is something seriously wrong. From my perspective they just aren't experts on the mini split front. They had to come out to repair their initial work at least 10 times, maybe more. On one of the repair days, the owner admitted he had novice installers do my installation, which was why a bunch of the connections weren't secured (and why we had a bunch of leaks). Some of the leaks just missed my son's PC. Oh, and every time we called with a problem, the service guys they sent were so rude! As if it was our fault or they were bothered to have to keep coming out. We paid upwards of 15k for these splits, so having problems right away and then ongoing has been a huge disappointment. We also paid extra to have them do routine servicing of the filters (so we don't have to), which has been another problem because whatever they did, one of the mini splits now makes a gurgling sound even when off. My son can't sleep and there's nothing I can do to make it stop. Here's the deal- they might be really great at other things, but I wouldn't hire them to install mini splits. I just called Loni for a quote to come out and change out a thermostat which I will provide, and she quoted $187.50. Seems a lot for a 15-minute job. On the positive side, Loni was very professional and courteous when I told her my feedback on her being very expensive. So to be fair, they may do great work on big jobs at a reasonable price, and just don't have the time for small jobs so they charge a lot? We live in a small house and over recent years we have been looking for a cooling system to replace our portable air conditioning unit.  In San Diego, including the area that we are in, there are a week or two a year that we find the heat and humidity to be extremely uncomfortable.  The portable unit was not doing its job in keeping large areas of the house cool and comfortable.  In recent years we heard about some new cooling systems other than the wall box-type unit and the central air/heat system.  The new contraption is known as the mini-split system and we were interested in getting some quotes.  We called Liberty Mechanical toward the end of August but was told that due to the heavy workload in summer, they were not able to send somebody out until October 8th.  That was fine since we had others scheduled too.  There were some flaky ones and some no shows.  I met with Jake, the owner in early August.  He is a real professional and proficient in what he does and from the start came up with various suggestions for the project e.g. location of inside unit, capacity, equipment brand, etc.  We got an estimate for the Samsung units which came highly recommended.  Due to my procrastination, the installation date was set for November.  Jake came with a crew of 2.  Since Jake was the most experienced, he did most of the hard, technical work and the 2 workers were assigned different aspects of the project to execute at different times.  The process was lengthy and more complicated than I anticipated but the team was working extremely well together and in the end the project was a total success and completed in less than the allocated time.  Overall, Jake is the ultimate professional from his years of experience plus the personal qualities of integrity and trust.  Each step was methodological including the final clean up stage.  We are very happy with the installation and the equipment overall and can't wait to test it out this winter and definitely next summer.  Thank you Jack and crew and Loni (Jake's wife), the operations manager for a job well done - awarding you this 5 star review. read more
