Lenny first came to change the locks on my dad's co-op after my father passed away and we were preparing to sell the unit. I explained to him that we had an unstable family member who used to stay with my dad and might try to break in. Lenny not only added an extra security lock, but also advised me to leave a note in the window so other locksmiths would think twice if that family member attempted to gain access with their help. Sure enough, that family member did try to break in and change the locks -- but thankfully, they had called Lenny. He immediately recognized the co-op, remembered working with me, and gave me a heads-up. Once he realized what was going on, he refused to do the job. I really respected his integrity. Later, once the family member was evicted, Lenny was incredibly supportive and flexible as I navigated the next steps. I hired Village Locksmith to install a digital lock, and they sent a man named Dennis -- who turned out to be completely incompetent, disrespectful, and aggressive. He botched the installation by programming the lock incorrectly -- it never worked correctly from the start. When I called to get it fixed -- which is the bare minimum anyone would expect after paying for a job -- he blew up on me, yelling over the phone and threatening to charge me AGAIN just to come back. This was his mistake, yet he acted like I was inconveniencing him by asking him to do the job right. Dennis clearly has no idea what he's doing and absolutely no grasp of basic customer service. His behavior was hostile and unprofessional -- I wouldn't trust this man to install a doorknob, let alone a security lock. Village Locksmith should be ashamed to send someone like this into people's homes. I felt disrespected, dismissed, and downright scammed. If you value your safety, your sanity, and your money, stay far away from this company -- and Dennis in particular.

Two year warranty on electronic and 10 on mechanical. less than a year later the lock stopped working after 3 months of occasional use. I called John and he immediately cut me off and said his warranty is only 30 days! I did a lot of research and Emtek said John had to go through his supplier, John said no, we could put it in a box and send it to Emtek. Wrong . It has to go to supplier. John gave me the name and the wrong state, but, if I didn't want to leave my front door without a lock, offered to come back to the house ($225. plus tax) to come into the driveway) and install a new lock, probably another $550 plus tax. After a month without a working door lock, I ordered one from Home Depot for under $200 with a lifetime warranty.
