First of all, stop saying every key is a special key! I went here for a standard gas cap key and they said "oh, this is a special key it will be 13.90 plus tax". I responded no thank you I will go elsewhere. Went to another local locksmith and got the key for 4.99 plus tax! Besides being a rip off they put there stickers on every commercial door! I pealed the ones off my door and within days they put new ones up. I called them and asked them to STOP putting stickers on my door, but they repeatedly continued to put them on our doors. Ashley's response is not factual, and in fact is a complete joke. Her times are off, misinformation abounds. I called originally around 4 PM and she told me she COULDN'T get someone there by 5:30. And I did not hang up on Ashley when she called back at 5:02PM quoting me 165 plus tax, saying she now COULD get someone to me by 5:30. it was on AJ when he refused to honor original price. Ashley's version of my interactions with her and AJ are a gross misrepresentation of the events that unfolded. I originally had to come here to have several keys made for my office. I was greeted, promptly, professionally, and courteously. All of the keys worked perfectly. I returned a few days later to have key fobs made for my car. Again, I was treated excellent and the key fobs were made quickly and worked perfectly. I had an amazing experience with this company. I walked in with a very very old lockset , missing the key. Jessie who works there spent a huge amount of time testing very very old keys. Will NEVER use them again!!! Called for a quote regarding a front door deadbolt stuck in the closed position. I had already purchased a replacement and requested it be installed. I was quoted $145 A young man showed up and before even approaching the door starting saying "Oh, No! This is bad" "Really Bad!" then turned to me and said "You were only quoted for a Swap." This was 100% untrue. I would never call a locksmith to install a new lock set. I can do that myself!!! I needed the deadbolt removed but if they were there..... He told me that would be 1/2 hour more work and cost an extra $60 I requested he remove the bolt and leave. It took 10 minutes (less, I'm being generous) and it cost me $162.94 (and I paid cash). Super friendly individuals. I came in with an ignition switch and they assessed the situation and gave me solutions to my problem. They tried to fix it at first and found out that the switch itself was just way too far gone and they offered me to repair the existing ignition or they can rekey a new one. I highly recommend Suffolk county locksmith in Bohemia. I went to Ford to get a new key for my truck because it was ready to break off and I wouldn't have been able to drive my car. Ford had the key in stock but I would of had to wait 3 weeks for a service appointment for them to program it to my car. The gentleman at Ford recommended Suffolk County locksmith. I went right over to them and they were able to give me a new key and program it to my truck in 15 mins. They also cut the cost in half from just replacing my key vs replacing the key and remote. Today,7/27/22, i went to Suffolk locksmith, in Bohemia, in order to have a remote that i bought online, programmed to my original remote. They said the cost would be $110 plus tax and if he could not program the remote, I would have to pay anyway. According to the mechanic or technician, either way i would pay. The technician made the key quickly and spent in total about 20 min. for everything. Remote did not work.I had already paid. He said that for 90-95 dollars he could make me a key that would work.When i told the 3 women that run the business to take it out of the $110- they refused. After much discussion, after i left the store she came to my car and agreed to do it for$50. I no longer trusted this business and left. Stay away! They might make keys for you, but even those will be at least twice the cost or more. read more

I have to preface this with the fact that I understand that they probably get a lot of calls from people to open locks for nefarious purposes and they have to be vigilant. However, upon saying that I had the required proof, I was told that "nevermind, I don't think we want to take this job." Their vigilance is the reason I gave a second star, but I will never know if their service under regular circumstances would be stellar because their customer inquiry service just makes you feel like you're a criminal. Parents are trying to sell an investment property. Parents live in Queens, I live in Suffolk. Real estate agent accidentally locked the door (we have always entered the house through the garage door... which we don't lock because there is no key--the garage is alarm system coded so we never saw a need) and now they need a locksmith to be able to show the house. Parents decide they want to change all the locks anyway because new owners, if the house is sold, will need keys. In order to furnish proof that they own the house, my parents emailed me a copy of the tax bill for the property (which included their names, current billing address, and the address of the property in question), they further provided me with copies of their licenses and another form of identification so their signatures match up. I myself had been helping my parents pay the LIPA bill so I have my license, and the LIPA bills that have been billed and paid for in my name. After letting the person on the line know what I currently have, I was told it wasn't enough. I'd need a letter with a copy of their license and signature giving me permission to represent them. Fair, but this is where I probably made the mistake: I should have never repeated that back for confirmation. I said, "I already have copies of their licenses so I just need their letter, correct? Could I just have them call you?" I thought it was a fair question--credit card companies, as long as you have your social, will give you service. To which I was told that anyone could call and pretend to be them, and that they no longer wanted to take the job. I thought it was pretty funny because they wanted my parents physically there--but anyone could pretend to be them too. read more

I would be embarrassed to own or manage this store. The amount of time involved and process it took to make a key was sad. The owner walked right past customers not being helped and instead of helping the overwhelmed staff, would rather run out to make a delivery. It's unfortunate he didn't have the decency to stay and help for five minutes and then be on his way. Then finally when the key was made it was wrong. Hopefully this review can be a learning lesson and he'll think twice before leaving a store full of customers. read more

My front door lock got stuck and I could not turn the key. Called and was given a time frame of 11 - 3. JayJay came and fixed the pins ... Made sure all my keys worked. I had a family safe opened. A relative with dementia had lost the combination and the key. I brought the safe to the Shirley office to be opened. Very fast, efficient service at a fair price. I was locked out of my home at 6pm. I called the 24/7 service and was told it would be $135.00 to pick lock, extra if it had to be drilled? I have a basic knob lock and the tech could not open it after 15 minutes of fumbling around with different tools. Then I suggested try the garage door simple lock, he couldn't open that lock as well. Big surprise after 15 minutes of not being able to pick the locks, tells me he has to drill. $163.00 to drill and ruin my lock which took a whole 5 minutes. If your going to drill my lock and ruin it where I have to replace it, your fee should be less than $135.00 not more. Don't bother telling people its $135.00 when you have no intentions of investing the time to safely unlock the lock. For $163.00 you should have at least spent 1 hour in trying not to damage a lock that now needs to be replaced. ***** Call someone else no matter how desperate you may be. read more

I have never been more disrespected in my professional experience as I was with this company. After sending pictures of my digital lock that was malfunctioning and my thumb turn that was frozen shut - I was promised a phone call first thing in the AM. I didn't mind at first since it's the holiday season and I was sure they were busy. So I gave them a call to see what their response would be. After going back and forth with them for nearly 24 hours...they said a service tech would need to come out here to look at the lock in person before getting a quote. Which was fine. But then they wanted to charge me $65 for this "service fee". All I asked for was a "ballpark" figure so I can see if this would be something I can afford. Susan essentially talked to me like I was a child who didn't understand anything, laughed in my face, and was extremely unprofessional. Needless to say, not even 20 minutes after this phone call - I called another locksmith in the area. They provided me with a quote IMMEDIATELY with the same pictures I sent this place and are on their way right now. I have been in business for over 20 years and have never dealt with such disrespect for potential customers. Good luck! read more
