We were driving from Levenworth to North Bend. Mother's Day, on our way home to Canada. My mom and I love little greasy spoon diners, stopped in for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. Very quaint, cozy and friendly. Being Mother's Day the whole family came to see Carla. Great atmosphere absolutely loved the food and got pie to go. Highly recommend this place as a place to stop for breakfast or lunch. We will definitely time it to try the lunch menu next. Might have to bring my mug to leave behind for the next trip. read more

My eggs were perfectly cooked, the toast was warm and decently buttered, the hashbrowns were crispy and greasy, and the bacon and chicken fried steak were mediocre. The bumble berry pie was outstanding. That might have been the best pie crust subs ever tasted. Service was excellent from beginning h to end. The place is a five in the middle of no where, but it's clean. The only bathroom is the porta potty out back; there's hand sanitizer, but no sunk to wash hands. read more

This place is pure gold. Carla has done an amazing makeover of the cafe, including lots of memorabilia from the area's gold rush days. But the treasure is in the food and service. Who says you can't have pie and ice cream for breakfast? Her homemade berry pies are bliss. My bacon, eggs and hashbrowns were perfectly cooked. 5 stars all the way. I stopped in after 3 days camping trip and had breakfast! Their portions are amazing the food was fresh and fast and extremely delicious. The staff went above and beyond with their curtious attitude. Very attentive to all the customers regular or new. I will definitely be going back. We have driven by this place so many times... either it wasn't open, or it just was not a good time to stop. So this trip it worked out and we stopped for a late breakfast. First off the place is a cool, throwback cafe with old memorabilia. No credit cards, cash only. The food was great, large yummy portions, and the menu has a good variety to choose from. All of this would be a 4-5 starts for me normally. However, the service was a negative. There were only a couple other customers in the place and the waitress was very irritated by something. Not welcoming at all. We asked for a very simple substitution on the menu and we were rudely told no substitutions. That is totally fine, but rudeness is not. This could have become a regular stop for us as we drive by pretty frequently.... but I do not think we will stop again. read more

After spending a weekend in the wilderness of Central Washington eating nothing but MRE's, me and a buddy saw this place as we headed west towards home and decided to stop in to get a real meal....and use a real bathroom. A no frills place, it's the literal definition of a roadside cafe, right off of U.S. 97 on the other side of Blewitt. Nothing fancy, the place is very casual, comfortable and inviting. Everytime we've been it's always been for breakfast, so couldn't tell you about lunch or dinner, but if they are anything like breakfast, you won't be disappointed, From the looks of the menu, it's all about the comfort food, so no duck foie gras here, only good ol'fashion home cookin'. First off you are greeted and seated in a timely manner, and no matter how busy it is, someone's always going around to make sure your cup of coffee is filled. As for the food, serious "man" sized portions. Don't get me wrong, just because the servings are big doesn't necessarily mean the food is good because you can have "man" sized portions of crap... but in the case of the Liberty Cafe, not only were the portions hefty, the food was good! I'm already a big breakfast fan as it is so eggs, bacon, sausage, hash...you really need to be an awful cook to screw up breakfast...fortunately they have a very competent cook behind the griddle and he (or she) doesn't skimp. Needless to say it was an effort to finish, but we did. My last visit I believe I had the chili omelette. If you are not hungry, I do not recommend this...have a salad and glass of water instead. We've been there several times and each time, the same: Warm greetings, food good-n-plenty and always a full stomach. Doesn't hurt the wallet either as the prices are reasonable. It's definitely become a regular stop for us everytime we're in the area and it can be yours too....and you don't have to spend a weekend eating MRE's either. read more

This is a little hole in the wall place along the Wenatchee forest highway. We visited this plain looking diner early on a Saturday morning because we needed breakfast. It's a simple menu but they had all the basics you could want for breakfast. I would say they were busy but the waitress was efficient and attentive. We ordered and our food was out relatively fast. The hash browns were yummy as was the bacon. The portions were decent and the prices were fair. We would most definitely stop by again if we wander that way again. read more

Pies! Pies! This place has amazing apple and peach pies! On the way to Lake Chelan, my family and I dropped by this cute little place for lunch. We immediately realized the number of pie selection this place offers. Although not all of them are available that day, we were lucky enough to share two huge warm apple and peach pies together. The only bad thing about the Liberty Cafe is finding out when they are open. 07:00 to 16:00, closed in March. Breakfast is awesome. Portions are large but they do have items on the menu should you not need a full days food in one meal. The chicken fried steak was one of the best I have had but the star on my plate were the eggs, or was it the hash browns? My wife cleaned her plate, two slices of French Toast. It too looked wonderful. The coffee was good, service attentive and everything seemed clean and neat. We will be back. read more

We stopped here on our way to Chelan and Twisp. It was 1:30pm so we were rudely told they were closing soon when we entered. We assumed a to go order would allow us to get out of their hair and back on the road. When our order was placed, the cook harshly reminded the waitress to charge us the takeout fee. We weren't given the opportunity to cancel our order rather than pay the $4 charge. While we waited for our food, we asked for the key to the bathroom and were told it was only available to dine in customers. The food could never be good enough to overcome rude service, unreasonable extra charges, and refusing to let paying customers to use a bathroom where they could wash their hands before eating. We won't return and will tell all we know to avoid this place. read more

We drive by this Cafe every time we venture to West Seattle and always say we should stop there sometime. Well we finally did. It was a beautiful Saturday winter morning, not much traffic at the hour of 1030ish. There were four customers in the small quaint diner. Our server welcomed us three and was very friendly and answered questions regarding the menu about certain homemade items. Hash Browns are homemade, the white gravy for biscuits and gravy is homemade but it's not sausage gravy. The sourdough bread is also homemade. Ordered two omelettes, which were huge, like large burrito size huge. Grand portion of those homemade hash browns come with it. I ordered grilled ham and cheese, Tasty! And a nice serving of, yes, homemade potato salad. Very good as well. The decor is cute and homey. Thumbs up for the food and the service!! Also, the food is made to order, it is NOT fast food or McDonald's so expect to wait for a few minutes for hot homemade food.Inquiry the staff maybe before you place your orders. Unfortunate to see poor reviews of this diner seeing it has excellent food and it is the only sit down diner before CleElum headed west. One issue I witnessed was the amount of folks stopping and asking to use the bathrooms. The Cafe is in a bad position due to the fact there are no actual road side public rest stops at all on 97 from Wenatchee west, again before CleElum. So they get the much needed and expected rest room inquiries daily. Travelers should respect proprietors of the Cafe in terms of rest room usage with regards to paying customers and non paying just need to use port a potty patrons. Maybe buy one of their homemade pies to go as a thank you for at least having port a potties to use. So all that said, we will certainly visit the Cafe again during our travels and i hope the owners read the Yelp reviews to stave off those negative reviews. read more

Normally would have given five stars. Been here many times, but never again. Took over half hour to take order with no apologies and got up to leave when the waitress finally took our order. Left my kiddos while I went to the restroom, to come back and find they finally delivered the food another 40 minutes later. My ten year old, bless his soul said "it's about time" when the food was delivered. Not a nice comment, but doesn't excuse the cook from coming out and yelling at him. We got up and left. I waited for a local to finish a conversation with the barista. After a while and before they were finished, I peeked my head around the truck into the hut - they thought I was just standing there (as you do?). I always stop by here for friendly conversation and a grilled ham and cheese. One friend always likes to order the most expensive thing on the menu, the French Dip. My friend things that she is all that and probably didn't even want the French Dip as much as just a grilled ham and cheese but she had to "have the most $$$ thing there. I put my foot down.
