The Early Bird -- a truly great, innovative restaurant that is a must-stop if you're passing…read morethrough Ellensburg. I'm lucky to live here so I get to go at least once a month. While every dish is an eating experience, the Early Bird has monthly specials that are as unique as they are wonderful. The only problem: they only exist for that month (although manager Erica tells me they occasionally have made a monthly special a permanent fixture). Come early or late on weekends -- The Early Bird is often difficult to snag a table, especially on Sunday mornings and in the winter when they don't use their outdoor dining area. Also: their adjacent sister eatery, the Night Owl, is a similarly high-quality Korean restaurant.

In this case, the early bird most definitely gets the worm…read more I visited this local cafe after seeing Rufus Du Sol at the Gorge. Unfortunately for me, many other concert goers had the same Sunday morning plan. While The Early Bird is delicious, it's by no means speedy. We originally received a 45-minute wait for takeout, but ended up waiting closer to 75-minutes. My order consisted of the Eggs Benedict bowl with the veggie medley, monkey bread, and a hazelnut iced latte. The perfect cure after a night of debauchery. You can tell they're doing their best to manage crowd control, especially the morning after a popular concert. Something to note is that you must have a table secured before ordering food. They don't let you order and wait to be seated to help lessen the crowding. Pro tip: the city park behind this building is much better spot to wait for your food. There's seating and even private bathrooms - a god-send after a night of camping at the Gorge.

I had eaten here before on a previous road trip and had a good experience so I suggested to my group that we eat here for breakfast. They were pretty busy when we walked in. Good mix of locals and tourists. It's an affordable place to eat and the portions are sharable. Everyone picked a different dish but everyone's favorite was the chicken fried steak. Service was on point and food came out in a timely manner.

I wasn't expecting to see them and happily joined them for breakfast. I ordered a Country Omelette because of the white gravy that is layered on top of the eggs. I really wished I had taken a photo, but I was distracted by talking with my friends. While we were there our server apologized for delaying our order because someone else had ordered the challenge breakfast!! Personally, I think it was an effort to save money as the order came from a group of 4 adults and 1 child. I was not able to verify if my theory was right though because that group was in a different part of the restaurant. My friends and I enjoyed a pleasant breakfast with tasty food. My country omelette was cooked perfectly and I loved the gravy on top of the eggs.

Tasty hearty breakfast with kind and friendly staff…read more We came here twice during our visit to Leavenworth, and the second time the friendly lady at the restaurant recognized us and even remembered what I had the day before. I loved my plate. The Bavarian is a nice savory hearty choice for meat lovers, or for those who have a long eventful day of ahead of them. The potatoes were crunchy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. The portion was huge for me, and I'm not someone with a small appetite. I ended up sharing most of the potatoes with my vegetarian partner, who ordered the avocado toast. Btw, he said the avocado toast was on the smaller side compared to the Bavarian, and it was actually perfect paired with another plate of sweet toast. The French toast was tasty too. I also ended up taking a few bites of it in between my Bavarian plate. In short, this is a lovely breakfast spot with friendly staff, reasonable prices, and generous portions. It's a place worth visiting again.

The grilled potato's were crispy and smoky filled with grilled bacons' meaty aroma. Grilled mushrooms were smoky and tender. If the over easy egges could have been cooked less would be better. The honey butter mixture was not overly sweet, the butter and honey perfectly mixed together as a great topping for the crispy outside and tender inside waffles. They offered maple syrup on the side as well. The Irish coffee was filled with the aroma of the Irish whiskey but not overpowering by it. It was a great blend. The server was so friendly, hospitable, helpful, totally recommend you!
