My wife and I ate here on Tuesday night. Spacious venue that was nicely appointed. The menu was pretty diverse and prices were overall in line with what I would expect to pay. The service was very good and food arrived promptly. The stone soup was decent. The Salmon pasta was very good and my wife enjoyed her tapas and salad. I like this place a lot better than it's nearby Millersville competition. My first time to Libations and I was thoroughly impressed! I will echo some of the reviews here that the parking situation leaves a lot to be desired for, well, parking. But I blame that on the community/commercial developer than Libations. Since the area is still under construction, I suppose additional parking will become available in the near future. Aside from parking, the experience my companion and I shared was nothing short of amazing. The staff was friendly and very appreciative of our time and business. Since they're the "new kid on the block" they are experiencing some growing pains -- typical for a new restaurant (trainees shadowing the seasoned servers, some unfamiliarity by servers with items on the menu, etc.), but this didn't detract from the overall experience. They seated us in the dining area, near the open-fireplace, which was very nice, but my only complaint here is that there is no screen guard or bars over the fireplace as a precautionary safety measure, particularly where children are concerned. Other than that, the environment they've created is one that harmoniously blends a bit of contemporary (mostly in their choice of artwork and color pallet) with a rustic, mid-Atlantic touch. While I'm not a beer-fan myself, I have friends that are. And the rather large beer menu looked to be fairly impressive. They also have amazing cheese platters, served up with smoked meats, shrimp, honey, etc. Very, very nice presentation - particularly when the nifty tray they use can also double as a pseudo-chalkboard, allowing them to clearly label what every item on the platter is as not to leave you second guessing yourself 5 minutes later when you've forgotten what stuff was what after the server took time to explain what's in front of you. The food selection was awesome and flavorful. I literally took me 20mins to decide what I wanted, just because there were so many choices that looked interesting to me. We've been frequent visitors to Libations since the first week it opened. We've yet to make it out of the bar area because everyone there is so friendly and personable - especially Monica! We definitely feel like we're in the right place when we're greeted by name each and every time we pull up a stool. The food is great - everything from apps on the bar menu to the daily specials. I live close by and have been here probably 10 times. The service is excellent! And the food is amazing. Burger is delicious and the shoe string fries are a nice touch. The fish tacos are fresh and tasty. The tater tots are one of my favorites! So happy we have Libations in our community. I highly recommend a visit if you haven't been. Words cannot describe the greatness of this restaurant. The bar atmosphere is light and inviting including a couch seating section. A great selection of craft beer and good wine. My husband and I went to Libations for the first time last evening and sat in the bar area. We absolutely loved the place!! The atmosphere was warm!! The staff was wonderful. We had an excellent bartender who notified my husband (who was in the liquor store part of the restaurant) that his food had arrived. The food was excellent. I had one of the specials - scallops in a sauce with squash. It was fabulous. My husband had fish and chips and loved them. The fish was juicy and tender with a great crust/coating that was not greasy or salty. We will definitely go back as soon as we can!!!! Give the place a try!!! Well worth it!!! read more

Tried Libations for the first time tonight. The beer list is very impressive. Our waiter brought me a tasting cup when I ordered a Pumpkin Hard Cider but comments I'd like to try the double black IPA (which was delish!) We had sandwiches and were stuffed! The Millersville Club was a solid traditional club sandwich and the shoestring fries came out hot. The Salmon "burger" was falling apart fabulous with each bite, very little filler but just the right amount of kick to the sauce and the grilled pineapple was a perfect compliment. I ordered the cinnamon and sugar shoestring sweet potato fries as my side. It was a small serving, but they were fantastic. Dinner for 2 came to exactly $50 including a 20% tip for outstanding service. I will definitely be back to try the flights of wine, flights of beer, and flights of whiskey samplers! read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could and here is why We received our appetizer and the server never returned until she delivered our food and at that time we had to ask for ketchup and mayo and silverware. Then she left again without offering us more water or other drinks when my daughters glass was empty. So another lady walks out minutes after we got our food and asked how everything was. I said not good and I asked if she was the manager and she said yes so I said my grits and waffle are cold and I was a little resistant about sending it back and my husband made comments along the lines of you kids don't give good service and that the problem and about sending food back to kitchen you can't always trust people. But I sent it back with the manager mind you and she brought us the xtra chips we needed with our crab dip and water and I had her get my daughter another drink. After that a short time later my food arrives and I tested it and the food was hot but not as if it was just cooked hot if you know what I mean. And I understand grits are made ahead of time because of the time it takes to make but they should have cane out steaming hot. But that's not even the best part the best part is when the GM comes outs and talks to us about it and say he understands but one thing he does not accept is someone being rude to his staff I was like I was not rude he said the server said I was rude about my chicken. She apparently said that when she brought the dish back to the kitchen and I was like that is funny because the server is not the one that I spoke with or the person who removed my plate of food from the table when I complained the lady who said she was the manager did, so how could I have been rude to her when we did not even see her after we received our food. I felt as if the GM was trying to make this out to be my fault like I did something wrong. I am just so floored by this because I did nothing wrong and I was not being rude, and it does not matter what the customer say or if the customer is wrong you treat them as if they are right and you do what you can to fix the problem you most certainly do not make them feel like a piece of shit. I have worked in a restaurant for 9 year and I would never make someone feel that way and I still live by that saying that the customer is always right. Bad from beginning to end. Came in around 2pm on a Monday. Waited at the hostess stand for about 3 minutes to be seated but no one ever came. Walked into the bar to ask a server or bartender where I could sit but no one was around. Finally got seated close to 10 minutes later. No apology from the hostess for making us wait so long. Horrible first impression. Sat for awhile waiting for our food, wasn't in a rush so this was fine. However, we had been out of drinks for a little bit and server was no where to be found. We stopped in for a couple of drinks and a light lunch. I'm giving it a rating of one star, only because the waitress was very friendly. We ordered the cream of crab, which was okay, not great. We wanted something light with our beer, and decided to try the "Meat Platter" and the "Cheese Platter". Huge mistake. The cheese was okay, mostly dry and crumbly. If I had the ability to rate this place with zero stars, I would! Our experience there was absolutely horrifying! Let me set the stage: our regular weekly traveling happy hour crowd decided to give it a go a couple weeks back...as usual, we were excited to try a new place. Turns out, after we all (about 10 of us) settled into some tables in the bar area, we were greeted occasionally by various waitresses, none of whom bothered to share the happy hour specials, which we told them up front was the reason for our being there. When the waitresses finally came back after 20 minutes to take our orders, we placed orders for beers and food. Unbeknown to us, turns out only half the food we ordered was on the happy hour menu, and when we tried to change the order, we were denied. ...some time later, our drinks ran out (as they do at a Happy Hour!) and ALL of our drinks were empty for a few minutes by the time any of the waitresses decided to come back and check on us. Fast forward to the end of our experience: when we asked to check out with split bills, we were given lip, complete attitude by the waitress. She made this huge deal about how WE screwed up and WE should have made note of everything we had individually...even the usually "mellow" folks at the table were pissed. Oh, and did I mention that I asked to speak to the manager after the whole happy hr menu ordering ordeal at the beginning of the meal and it took over 90 minutes for a manager to come over to the table? When Christine finally did come to the table, she took "full responsibility" for the bad experience, but then AFTER she walked away, it STILL TOOK 15 minutes to get our checks and our waitress was rude as ever. Nice try "manager." This place sucks, and NO ONE in our happy hour group will EVER go back...and I will turn people away every chance I get. Like the atmosphere and the selections but the service has GOT to improve. We met some friends on Friday night and sat down at their table. After 15 minutes, I asked our friends who was their server? They said, 'Oh, we just went to the bar because no one ever stopped at the table.' We did the same thing; then sat there and spent an hour with our friends. And, STILL, no server ever cam to our table (although there were frequently at least 3 standing at the bar talking to each other, just 10 feet away from us). If someone had stopped by our table, I'm certain the tavern would have sold another round of 4-5 drinks. Great place and location but I'm concerned it won't make it due to lousy customer service. First time and probably the last. I had higher expectations I guess. First the atmosphere in the dining area gives you the feel of being in a community clubhouse. No ambiance. Very sterile. We ordered a couple glasses of wine and a couple appetizers. For what we paid ($50) we could have had a really good meal elsewhere. The calamari was average. The egg rolls were way too spicy for our liking. I asked the waitress is it was spicy and she said not really. We needed a pitcher of water to put before it was finished. Wine was average. Nothing spectacular. All glasses of wine are served in stemless wine glasses which I found a bit odd. They should have both. I myself prefer my wine glass with a stem. We won't go back. I stopped in on a whim to grab a quick bite to eat before a class at worth a shot. I ordered a cup of Maryland crab and the tomato with Buratta salad. The soup arrived promptly and was delicious. The salad did not live up to expectations. It's mid-August, I was expecting locally grown, vine ripened tomatoes. Imagine my disappointment to see tomato slices that were barely red, more of the hot house variety. REALLY, Libations? Seems like the kitchen needs to find better sources for some ingredients. I went here for dinner with a friend last weekend. The price was pretty expensive for bar food. Although the place looked very nice, it was not worth the cost. She got a $13 hamburger that wasn't anything special and I got the fish and chips. Neither was spectacular or worth the cost. I did like the old bay tater tots and thought the southern style crab bisque was OK. The best part of the meal was that they had a specialty beer that was brewed specifically for the restaurant, or at least that's what the waiter told me. The beer was definitely very good. This place may be a better to place to go to for Happy Hours or drinks since the bar area looked pretty nice. read more

I see a lot of negative reviews here so I'm not sure if we just got lucky tonight or what, but we'll certainly be back soon, probably next weekend. We ended up at Libations after coming from a dive bar in Baltimore. The atmosphere is very nice, its a lounge/restaurant with a bar and its relaxed, you seat yourself; we sat on a pair of extremely comfy leather couches. The place is lit well, relaxing. Onto the libations themselves. I am not a beer drinker at all, or an alcohol guy, period. But once in a blue moon (no pun intended) I like a nice, refreshing brew. Now be it that I don't drink often, it takes a lot to wow me when it comes to beer. My buddy and I each got the beer flights. 4 6oz glasses for 10 bucks of craft beers. You can mix and match 4 different types of beer and figure out which one you like best. They were all really tasty, but the Red Sky at Night was the pinnacle. Forget what you know about pumpkin being the fall flavor. If someone chopped down a cherry tree, made a fire with it and roasted some smokey sweet barbeque over that fire then trapped all those essences in a beer, you would have Red Sky at Night. With every sip, I could hear the crackling of a fire on a crisp autumn night, I could smell the smokey scent of chimneys keeping the houses warm. It was incredible. I was a little hesitant on getting food because it was a little pricey and when you think of a place that does beer as well as this place does it, you don't think of great food. So, we got some tacos to split and for 12 bucks you get 2 really, REALLY delicious and fresh tacos with a side of white cilantro rice. Damn delicious and went very well with my beverages. the salsa on top was fresh and biting, the cheese was subtle and melted lightly, the chicken was cooked and braised excellently and it came in a hard shell, wrapped in a soft shell. So good. Onto the final point, the service. Our waitress apologized for a little wait, but it wasn't her fault as we quietly settled in at the back, corner couch without really making our presence known. Idk, some people might be put off my not being taken to a seat, I like it; we're all adults, we don't need to be shown to a seat. Anyway, as she got our order, my buddy and I both noticed she never once wrote anything down. Again, the beer flights are 4 different beers and we each got a flight, so thats 8 different beers. The girl didn't write a thing down and the order came out perfect AND she made sure to point out which one was which on the palate even though it was written on there for us anyway. After she finished and brought out our order, we were checked on multiple times by a different person, a guy this time. He was never pushy and wasn't overbearing, if we said we were good, we were good. He was like a ninja when clearing off our table and we didn't feel rushed to leave once we paid the tab. I give it 5 stars because I was expecting some decent beer and OK bar food. Instead I got 4 incredibly good beers (and a new favorite) a fantastic meal big enough to split and an overall great dining experience for about 20 bucks. We'll probably be going back next week, but until I'm given a reason not to, I stand by my 5 star rating. read more

Stopped in for lunch today .Our waitress Katie provided good service The restaurant and bar really have an upscale feel for this part of town. On the flip side,the ham in the chefs salad seemed like chunky left overs from a carved ham.It was very salty and consisted mainly of end chunks. The prices are also on the high side compared to the competition. I hope they will improve upon their food quality because they have really have invested alot into the building and furnishings. read more

I want to give Libations credit for their much improved menu and service. My husband and I stop by after work for light dinners in the bar area, a cheese tray, perhaps a glass of wine. The atmosphere is comfortable and the dining room is much improved with the addition of 1/2 walls between tables. We frequently see families there with young children who appear to be easily accommodated by the staff and seating arrangements. Wine selection is good, food is moderately priced, staff is friendly. We hope they continue to grow and expand their menu! read more
