Called to make a same day appointment and was pleased to have an opening. *Plenty of parking in front and on the side streets. *Greeted within seconds of entry. *Asked what I'd like and then led to a private room with a tray for my belongings, candle light and a giant music. *The masseuse was very strong and attentive. *I wear waist beads and she worked around them *There were times where she had to step out of the room to greet other customers (no more than 30 -45 seconds tops) but that gave me time to breathe in and relax. *Hot stone and oil were used, and oh my goodness it was perfect! The only thing I would suggest to enhance the experience, would be a separate front desk person to allow the masseurs to focus on their customers. Otherwise, it was stellar! When I tell you that I was massaged, stretched and cracked...I mean it. It was relaxing, invigorating and renewing. I will be making it a monthly visit. No & Nope! Here's why..... 1. First off there's a communication barrier from the get. The place seems to be ran by 3 older Asian people. 2 women & 1 man. 2 of the 3 don't speak fluent English & when I asked one of the 2 about their mask policy she didn't understand me. Then asked her a different question if I could have a male masseur in which she asked if I was (male) in which I told her yes, but that's not what I was asking etc. 2. I was told that I could schedule a 2 hour session for 130.00 as they had posted on their website & rated price list at the front counter. Which didn't happen & here's why: I got there a bit early in having been told (at first) that I could show up at 1:30pm, but then got a text via phone that it would be 2pm. Which was fine since that's what I wanted. I got there, & was met by 2 other people that had just had a session, talked the place up & made it seem like it was "the best massage ever." Not only was the guy late in getting me in by 10 minutes, but I found myself arguing with one of the women about 2hr too long, too busy, maybe just 90 minutes instead & then pay more later. I was like, "huh?" No, I scheduled a 2hr, I paid for a 2hr WITH 25 DOLLAR TIP, I expect a 2hr session regardless of "how busy" they are. If that wasn't possible, then DON'T ADVERTISE & SCHEDULE IT! After being told to undress by all 3 & butt naked in one of the women coming in that spoke better English of the 2, I was told I needed to pay more or just do 90 minute with extra tip. At that point I got my things, took my money back that she gave to me, & said to them I was on my way to get "more." And to think the same lady had the audacity to not only try to swindle me, but asked if I'd be coming back. That of course is an easy Hell to the NO. When I walked in, everyone was friendly. When I got into the room, the lady from the front desk asked me if I was having a baby while motioning like I had a big stomach. I told her I had a baby last year, but was not currently pregnant. She told me I needed to do stomach exercises to make my belly slim and proceeded to show me some of those exercises. This did not make me feel great, but I am Asian and have Asian parents/grandparents so I understand this sort of behavior (not saying it is right). The massage was conducted by a man. I paid extra for the deep tissue, which the massage was not. Pretty disappointing. There was no conversation at the beginning about the pressure level, problem areas, etc. When I went to pay, I wrote my tip on the receipt, and the man told me I needed to add more. I was completely floored that he did that. He told me the amount I "needed" to add and was waiting for me to change it on the receipt. Very happy customer! At first, I was surprised at how rough the massage began, but quickly realized they knew what they were doing. I'm a big guy, and requested the deep tissue massage, and I definitely put the massage therapist through a workout! I went here after my regular LMT closed temporarily, for a potential COVID exposure. I couldn't have been more happy! These ladies know what they are doing and even walked on my back, which surprised me how effective it was, which I assumed was a gimmick. Working from home these days and sitting all day has led to consistent back pain. I feel so great today (day after). I will definitely return! I can see why some of the reviews are negative, but I think that is from communication issues. The massage therapists working were professional, but struggled with english language. It's obviously a second language for them, which led to some of the poor reviews. I work with team members from all over the world, so I may have a little more experience than most. I swear to god, there were these two outstanding female masseuses, one for me and one for my wife, and simultaneously they just sort of alighted on our backs and it was elbows and knees in all the right spots. I have noticed that they placed a sign at the front desk for the price increases due to pandemic conditions. However they make it up by providing complimentary hot stones and this special topical oil. It significantly helps with relieve the tightness of my muscles. I have been very remiss in writing another review of Li Asian Massage. I got my last massage there on 9 March, just before the stay home 'order' was issued by Governor Inslee. My apologies to Li Asian for being so forgetful and delinquent in this review. Anyway, just as before I was greeted warmly by Luci, my massuse, and another very pleasant Asian lady (didn't get her name) who was minding the front desk, and immediately shown to my room. Again, soothing music was playing and the room toasty warm. A few minutes later a polite knock came from the door and Luci asked me if I was ready. After a few short pleasantries she asked how strong a massage I wanted and I told her hard as usual. From that point on the wonderful head to toe massage was perfect and Luci ensured I was nice and warm the entire time. My favorite part have always been my legs because I'm an avid cyclist (though I do walk a lot too), logging over 3,000 miles last year, and Luci was quick to focus on them because she remembered I told her I loved riding on my earlier visit. How she managed to remember that is beyond me because I can't even remember my own birthday. My 90 minutes was up like I was in the HG Wells Time Machine. Darn, I hate that and I NEVER go to sleep like some people do. What's he point? If you're asleep you don't enjoy the experience. I just wish I really had a Time Machine so I could get that wonderful massage again and again. Thank you much Luci and Li Asian Massage for another delightful experience. Not a great experience. My masseuse answered her phone and left the room multiple times during the massage, so I didn't get my full hour. On top of that, the fire alarm went off for the last 15 minutes of my massage. We didn't evacuate the building and the massage continued as if nothing was happening. Weird. I woke up with a sore back 2 mornings in a row, so wanted to get a massage ASAP. It was easy to make a same day appointment. I came in expecting to pay $60 for 1 hour deep tissue per the website. When I arrived, I was led to my room. The masseuse asked about pressure level when she started, and advised deep tissue would be $70 after I asked for hard pressure. Kind of a bummer the price didn't match, but prices can be subject to change so I understand. My back cracked so she could tell it was tense and there were knots to work out. She used hot stones and also stepped on my back during the massage. I did completely relax, and I think I even fell asleep a bit. The room itself was clean enough. I do typically go to Asian places, and they more or less seem the same to me. One con was that since my room was close to the entrance, I could hear when the phone rang or when people were talking in the lobby. When I paid, I do recall seeing a sign on the desk that said $70 for deep tissue, so it doesn't seem to be a number the masseuse just said off the cuff. Also, my back was no longer sore when I woke up the next morning. To sum up, it was a great massage, but my favorite massage place at home in San Jose is $50 for 1 hour deep tissue. I'm pretty cost driven, so I might do more research to see if I can find something just as great for that price point up here. If not, I definitely wouldn't hesitate to come back the next time I want a massage. read more

Never again. While the massage itself was OK, the therapist kept walking out to answer the phone during my appointment. A couple of times she left the room to speak to walk-ins, and at least twice she left the door open and the curtains between the door pulled back. I am pretty sure at least one person got a glimpse of me because I heard the conversation end abruptly. (If I walked in an saw a customer exposed in a room, I'd leave abruptly too.) Lastly when I tipped 20 percent -- and honestly, I thought that was an over tip, given the overall experience -- she scoffed at me. As in, audibly scoffed. When I asked why she told me that it was "cheap." Having read other reviews I see that tip shaming is a thing here. So: I'm happy for the folks who had a great experience. With soo many reviews of forceful tipping we will not be going here. The response from the owner is appalling at best. It is not the consumers responsibility to pay a living wage, it is the business owners responsibility to make sure their employees earn a livable/competitive salary. It seems that the person responsible for angry employees is the owner and then their frustration is being taken out on customers. When the consumer expresses their experience the management is justified by the owner in MOST Instances and she's blaming costumers, in a few reviews she assures this issue has been handled and won't happen again. One response Susan writes "you would not get your nails done without tipping", personally I absolutely would, a tip is based on the experience from the consumers point of view, in TOTAL not just that a service was performed. Consumers already pay for the services rendered, if that is not sufficient to pay employees then factor the gratuity in the price of services ..... truly disappointing given that there aren't many massage parlors in west seattle, and a lot of people including ourselves want to support local businesses. read more

Before coming, I was a bit intimidated by the comments about tipping, but a friend who frequents here told me to really give it a try. To be honest, this massage shop is really worth the money, and the massage therapists are really good at massage techniques. I have pain and discomfort in my shoulders and back due to long-term sitting and standing work, but the massage therapist are very good at relieving my pain through traditional Chinese acupuncture points. The traditional Chinese medicinal oil they use is very useful. I think giving them a good tip is a respect and affirmation of their efforts and skills. read more
