He advised me to purchase the battery myself and let him know when it arrived. Before bringing it in, I organized and backed up my laptop -- even though Joe said it probably wasn't necessary, he agreed it was the wise thing to do. Today I called him, and he told me to bring it right over and he could get it done the same day. What a difference from the Apple Store experience, where I was told I'd need an appointment, then possibly wait 10 days just for them to look at it, followed by another week or more for the repair. I simply couldn't be without my laptop for two weeks. Joe was amazing. He completed the repair in under four hours, the price was very fair, and he was kind, thorough, and professional throughout the entire process. My laptop is working great!!!! It is at the side door of a residential building just off Hertel Avenue. Chris greats you at the door, asks you to put the computer on a little table in the hall way and gives you a receipt for the drop off. He told me it could be just dust in the fan or a defective fan. A day later I got a phone call and Judy, his assistant (may I call it that way?) told me the fan was failing. A new part was ordered and the computer would be fixed within a couple of days. It was quick and easy, exactly as he described over the phone. He was pleasant to talk to and the services were very fairly priced, even blowing out my desktop from dust for free. I have a custom built desktop that needed a new power supply, which I assumed beforehand, and Tony quickly confirmed. Tony was also able to install a new SSD that I had brought in. I called ahead on the phone to see if they had time for me that day, we scheduled a time, and it was done that day in about an hour or so. He charged me exactly what he paid for the parts, even showing me his order online, then charging $100/hour which is very reasonable, especially when he cleans out the computer and keeps the cords tidy with zip ties for free.
