Always wanted to try this spot. I went this morning to get coffee before work . I walk in , there are no signs telling you where to order , no one greeted me . I was standing waiting to be helped and had to ask another customer where the line was . There was one girl making coffee who heard me ask and still said nothing .I left . read more

Customer service is great, drinks are good and I love the vibe! They have Wi-Fi, indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely recommend!

This cafe is the best in Whittier. You can tell that the people here really care about the coffee, environment, and their customers. I say this because of their inclusivity in terms of milk offerings. They're one of the only cafes in Whittier that offer complimentary alternative milks (including OAT MILK). Furthermore, all of their plastic is compostable. The decor is beautiful and warm. Perfect for just a quick coffee or a study date. They have comfortable tables or couches you can relax on. Staff is awesome :) read more

Grabbed a hot coffee here--just plain black coffee and was absolutely ASTOUNDED by their roast. It had fruity notes and chocolate notes without either being overpowering. Super good coffee. The guys working there were very friendly, and the inside was SO COOL. Their bar is made from an airplane wing! read more

Don't be fooled - not opened at 8am on Friday. Even though their published open shop hours is 7am, today that was proved to be faulty. Walk around the corner to find another coffee shop. read more

Great coffee and atmosphere. Everyone that works there is so friendly and greets you right away!

I live in the area and have tried lift about 5 times. The first one was a hot chocolate that was mediocre, went back after work to study to find that they close at 7pm, which only gave me an hour to study so I ended up going to the Mexican coffee shop down the street which stays open till 9/10pm. The following two visits my hot brew was cold. And lastly, my friend went in around 6:45pm to order a latte And they told her that they were not making lattes at that time (we guessed because they were closing soon and were feeling lazy to do all the work). When you finish your drink you put your mug in the dirty dish bin which I notice will stay there until they run out of clean mugs. I noticed because they will eventually start using disposable mugs instead of clearing out the dish bin to reuse the non- disposables. The bathroom has been dirty when I've stayed, the sink doesn't get wiped down for sure. Its a cool coffee shop but I do feel staff is really lazy. I'm tempted to speak with management but I can't tell who management would be, none of them appear to be the more responsible, leader type. read more

Love this coffee shop!! I've spent the last couple years in Whittier and struggled to find a coffee shop with consistently decent coffee and a good vibe. Lift coffee shop is my long lost soulmate! Workers are always so nice and they basically remember my order at this point. Honey oat latte is the drink I would recommend, 10/10 every time! read more

LFTD - Honey oat latte 10/10 - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Whittier, California

Nice location in the heart of uptown. We went there on a Tues morning around 715 and the place was pretty clear of customers, which I am not sure why outside of possibly the time. Nice coffee flavor and good selection of specialty drink if that is what interests you. I also liked that there was plenty of seating including long tables and very comfortable overall vibe. We will be back next time in Whittier! read more

Hell yaaaas, Whittier! Steppin up your coffee game. This place is tooooo legit to quit. An actual coffee roaster. Iced Mocha w/ oat milk was $5. WHAT A STEAL. Reminded me of Blue Bottle but more affordable and honestly, I think I love you guys. Great chocolate mocha, great coffee and that oat milk. F me up. 10/10 would recommend. I lucked out and found parking on the street or else I could see how it could suck, but I don't know much about it. Also, how are these other reviews getting 100 of likes... read more

Came in on Tuesday afternoon February 1st with my grandson, one girl was off to the corner on the phone, another girl who was doing who knows what? No one was at the counter, no one said hi welcome be with you in a minute, I looked around for and just decided to walk out! Will not be coming back to this place anytime soon! First time and last time. read more

I'm on vacation and was afraid I'd have to forgo my oat milk Gibraltar for the duration, but Lift swoops in to the rescue! Great coffee in a industrial chic space with lots of fun aeronautical touches. Came in the late morning before the Deli Up opened so there weren't many pastries available but the coffee cake muffin was tasty. read more

Met my buddy and his son for coffee. Cool place but not my cup of tea (or coffee). This is more for the younger crowd. It's got that hipster, ironically cool vibe that I'm way too old for I suppose. Coffee was good but nothing spectacular. Probably a one time visit for me. Not a bad place, really not. Just not for me. read more

Such a great place. Spent a whole morning working and I completely lost track of time in this shop.

Great vibe and beautiful and eccentric interior. I loved the brown sugar latte. The food cafe located inside the shop had some great breakfast food that was delicious. They have vegan options as well. Highly recommend! read more

This darling coffee shop is a must try in Uptown Whittier. The inside has lots of seating in a variety of ways - tables, comfy couches, and chairs. Got a nonfat latte, which was delicious. Parking can be tough, depending on when you go. Staff is so kind! Forgot my keys in the bathroom and the barista kindly found them and brought them to me. Will definitely return. read more

2018 Oct - UPDATE- their coffee is ok still but they dont have the vegan baklava anymore and now just donuts wtf? Gtfo I dont want donuts. Hmm sad cause I liked this place but limited pastry / coffee sweets selection. Sad, very sad... Coffee here is great, if you know good coffee. Portola is way to acid and acrid. Still good though. Lift is better coffee than portola by a factor of 3. Especially if you drink straight espresso. Ppl don't know , they think they know but they dont. Anyhow. Decor is great i usually get the iced short latte w/ lite ice. Like any small store, DONT buy gift cards or you will get screwed. Just pay cash, credit card, tip if you want, baristas are friendly. And to top it off the bathroom is clean. For the girl who said theirs hipsters here, girl I didnt see any but when I saw your profile pic I saw you are def. A hipster. Lmao! read more

I came here after hiking Turnbull Canyon with some friends. I was so pleasantly surprised. The Americano was on point and the almond croissant was delicious! If you take sugar make sure to tell the barista while you order because they only have simple syrup. Definitely coming back after my hikes. read more

The coffee is amazing, I definitely recommend the iced mocha! You cannot go wrong with that!

Have to say this place has very cool vibes! The main counter is made from the wing of a plain pulled right out of the 1950s' or something. The cash register is a tablet that has been fitted onto a wooden frame of some sort, a real interesting fusion of then and now. I ordered a cold brew (as I tend to do) and I wasn't all too impressed. It was to bitter for me and I usually drink coffee black. The taste was just bad. However, I have only had the one drink there so I do hope to go back and see what else they offer.. I do want to clarify that I see a lot of ppl posting that the prices here are high, I would have to disagree. They are the same if not a little lower than Starbucks and places alike.. I will revise my review as I try some more of their selection. read more

I love their coffee! Iced Vanilla Latte, always gets the sweet spot. read more

Three stars because they're a bit overpriced. I get the vibe that they are going for but something about the environment is stand offish and unwelcoming. Otherwise, nice aesthetics / change of pace if you work or study out of coffee shops like I often do. I Oh and The juice is good but not 8 dollars good y'all. I'm still angry at myself for that. read more

UPDATE*** This was resolved by taking this to Better Business Bureau. Still shady that it had to go that far. Once I finish up this gift card will definitely be taking my business else where. ********************************************************************** My cousin gifted me a $40 gift card to Lift in December of last year. Granted I do not come in to lift really because I brew a lot of coffee at home versus going out for it. But I do frequent their other spots like Baileys and Aunties a lot more. So when Baileys Juicery moved over to Lift I went on the first day they were inside Lift to get a fruit bowl and some juice to go. I tried to use my lift gift card and the cashier told me that the card was not working, and it was due to Baileys first day in their location so to give it a few days so the system could get them properly added. It made sense so I paid cash and didn't think twice. So, I go in today 3/1/18, and I order my usual I would get from Baileys and the card still doesn't work, and the girl said "oh we upgraded our systems, and these gift cards don't work anymore." I get it stuff always get upgraded, so you think they would just switch me over to a newer gift card? WRONG! The girl just flat out told me after she called a "manager" that they best they could do is give me $20 on a newer gift card, even though I had proof with a receipt my cousin gave me with the gift card proving it did have $40 on the card. Their only defense was "we put signs up in the store for customers to be aware of the switch in systems with regards to the gift cards." Since I never went in until Baileys move I must of missed this, and they never once posted anything on any of their social media platforms. What a Joke! I am not sure what kind of a Con this place is running, and I surely hope this gets resolved, I have emailed their company. But if I get the same run around and horrible service like I did today, I would much rather just go to Local Fixture or anywhere else, for coffee and baked goods, and drive to Nektar to get juice. I know that Baileys, Lift, and Aunties are connected, so I guess i wont be visiting any of them until they make this right which makes me sad because I pride myself on supporting small business, but not when they pull crap like this. read more

So yummy!! Very clean and even during covid keeping us distanced. Try their chai tea or their vanilla iced latte. If you are lactose intolerant they make their own almond milk that's divine and delicious! read more

I have always loved Lift. The baristas are top notch. Shout out to Charisma and Julien! This review is for the new food items - excellent!! Every dish is elevated and has a special touch. read more

On Greenleaf Ave there's multiple coffee shops, including coffee bean and Starbucks. I thought I'd try this one because of the aesthetic. However, it ended being the worst tasting coffee and the most expensive on the entire strip. I definitely wouldn't come here unless you want to overpay for what my friend called "coffee that tastes like it was made with dirty water." You're better off going to the coffee bean down the street. read more

I used to love coming here all the time just based on the fact that the aesthetic was amazing. The ambiance and okay tasting coffee made up for the always rude employees. However, for some reason Lift seems to have strayed away from their aviation theme and is steering toward a street art edgy theme. The demographic has changed, which isn't so bad, but the name and theme just doesn't fit. I'm not sure if Lift is under new management, but whoever's in charge is running this once great establishment into the ground. While the coffee is still good, I can't justify coming here any longer. read more

i have been following their Instagram for a while so me and my husband decided to stop by & give it a try... we waited around for about 5 mins and nobody welcomed us and yes there was 1 girl making coffee, but not even a "we will be right with you" finally someone came from the back to take our orders. The coffee was delicious & beautiful location just wish they would have better service. Will definitely give it another try soon read more

Cozy and modern vibes! Wanted to get the breakfast sandwich w/o meat but they couldn't accommodate that... but they said they were working on making more veggie options. Also they wouldn't take the $1 off coupon with check in. Despite all that, the iced honey latte and pastry were incredible! Loved sitting outside to people (and dog) watch on a Saturday morning. Would come back again! read more

Nice people, good coffee, and great coffee beans. Land of Honey is buy a bag of coffee get a free drink is going on right now.

Love this place but be prepared to wait 25 minutes for a drink. If you have the time to wait I'd say go for it but if you are in any kind of rush do not go here. Even with the order ahead they are 10 to 15 minutes behind. Really want to support this business and love their coffee but takes way too long. read more

I walked in and asked the employee who was at the register if they sold caramel flavored coffees and/or caramel macchiatos and he confidently said yes as he proceeded to clock out. Then, I was patiently waiting in line for a little while for someone to take my order. After about 5 minutes, an Indian looking guy approaches the register & I ask nicely if I can get a caramel macchiato as his coworker assured me they sold them there. The cashier replies with a rude no we don't sell those here. I was confused at that moment as I can see the employees clearly aren't properly trained & now I'm feeling dumb at this point. He seems annoyed now & I just ask for an iced vanilla latte. He then mumbles my total with an annoyed face & tone & I ask how many cents again so I can give him change & he answers with attitude as if I've ruined his day when at this point I just want to take my business elsewhere however I was on lunch so I already wasted enough time at the place to leave. Once I get my drink I go to the counter where he called my drink from as I'm looking for it & he asks once again RUDELY if I had a question when the dumbass KNEW I was looking for my drink. So I ask for the drink he just called out since he didn't ask for my name (idk if that's how they operate) but he just points to a different counter where it is. Extremely unhelpful dumbass employee. I will never walk in there again because of bad customer service no matter how good the coffee is. Btw it was about 85% milk & 15% coffee which is not worth the $5.50 that I paid. Felt like asking for my money back but I was already running late for work & I didn't wanna be THAT customer especially when I was pissed . If you like shitty customer service THIS is the place to go ! (: read more

My husband, daughter, and I walked in at 4pm today (Sunday) and before we could say anything the jerk off guy behind the counter rudely said, "We're closed!". Mind you, the front door was wide open and two people were behind the counter and a girl was sitting at a table. The a-hole with blonde scraggly hair then continued to be a dick and said, "that's why there is a sign on the door." When we walked out I noticed the notebook sized paper on the door saying they were closing at 4 today. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because I went in for the first time last week and got a great tasting chai tea latte. I just don't believe in giving my money to people who treat their customers like shit. I'll be telling my friends and family to steer clear of this place. La Monarca employees are much nicer and they have good coffee. I hope a manager reads this and retrains the employees to be more gracious with customers. I love Whittier, but F this place. read more

Classic burrito was so good I'm on Yelp making a review about it.... It had grilled jalapeños in it and a good amount of cheese and the egg wasn't over done and nothing was falling out all weird bc the tortilla was wrapped well. **This is a review for their decaffeinated options** It was my first time back post-pandemic and they've changed up a lot. I went in hoping to get a decaf latte but they let me know they don't have decaf (not 100% sure if this was just for that day). I then asked what herbal teas they had, of which they only had 2 options. They had some snacks and bottles of water/juice as well as pastries so I could see myself coming back to grab something quick but I'm a little sad they don't have decaf as an option read more
