I got an iced vanilla bean latte after seeing some of the reviews on here and, unfortunately, it was average at best. Definitely overpriced ($5 for a vanilla latte??) The atmosphere was decent as I was studying fairly early (8am-9am) and the barista was also friendly. I would not return for the coffee, maybe a study group since the seating was conducive for that. read more

The coffee and breakfast burrito are delicious, probably the best in Whittier. The reason for the 3 stars is the slow service. My wife and I had to wait 45 minutes for our breakfast burrito. Other than the wait this place is awesome, they have a cool Chaka tag in their kitchen! read more

Looking for a hip coffee shop in Uptown Whittier? You've found it at Lift Coffee Roasters. Parking isn't hard to find at all. Plenty of street parking spots, which I don't think should ever be a problem. Seating was pretty open as there were lots of tables of 2, 4 and seating for even bigger groups. The overall vibe is pretty cool. It looks like they've used an old airplane on their coffee bar and some of their furniture. It's all tied in very well and the design is on point! I had a cold brew, from their Guatemalan roast, and thought it was a little watered down. Not sure if it was the batch, or if it was the dilution for the cold brew. I also got the Vegan Churro donut and that was awesome! It would have been nice if they asked me if I wanted it warmed up or not, but it was still good not warmed up. Overall, I thought it was a typical average coffee shop experience, but the vibe and design brought my review up to 4 stars. I'm a believer in 2nd chances, so I'll be stopping by again in the future! read more

Only have come here twice. But both times I got 2 lattes and a Sandwhich from the deli. The deli opens at 10-11 AM so just pastries before then. But everything here is good! There's not that many places I can say that about. They only have one size and the beans are FRESH. You get sow beautiful latte art with every latte. Also, you can see the baristas take their take and effort to make sure you have the best they can give you. There hardly is anyone in there and gives off a "I could just sit here forever" vibe. read more

First the good: Their coffee is excellent. Very tasty and unique flavors, I buy several of their espresso bags at a time whenever I go. If you love coffee this is a good place to get the good good. The place is decorated nicely. It has seating so you can do your homework there or actual work there. I didn't see any outlets though. Now the bad: This place would be 5 stars if their customer service was better. Their male baristas so far have all had attitudes. One several different occasions and by two different male baristas so far. My girlfriend just went to Lift by herself today and told me the male barista is being rude to her which spurred my need to write this review. Y'all need to do better. We are just trying to get some good coffee and go about our day as happy as we came in to the shop. This isn't the case of the pandemic blues either. I have gotten bad attitudes from the male baristas since before the pandemic. I can go to a different coffee shop that has good coffee and not have to deal with your attitude. Your bad attitude is sullying the coffee. Update: My girl just got back with our ice lattes. I guess bad attitudes makes bad coffee. -1 star. read more

The customer service is terrible. Waited 20 minutes for a cortado. The baristas sometimes call your name and sometimes expect you to read their mind and know when your coffee is ready. After 20 minutes I asked about my order and they said it was already made and picked up. They never called my name and another customer took it. I understand being a barista is hectic at times but just be consistent, and call each name after every order is ready. read more

I come to this coffee shop often, around once a week. They have a great chai recipe that cannot go unsaid! The vibe of this shop is definitely collective and the service one gets is great. Never have I dealt with a rude cashier or barista. Every time I've visited every seat is full with people working in laptops and outside pairs of people enjoying their lattes. I walked in to get a cold drink on a hot day an ordered & paid for an iced tea. The girl at the register said it would take 3 to 4 minutes. So I decided to use the restroom thinking by the time I finished my drink would be ready, we'll it wasn't. Really! I mean how long does it take to make an iced tea? It's not like I asked them to bake me an upside down pineapple cake!! But here's the real kicker to all of this. As I approached the pick up counter, the drink dude was more busy and thought it was more important to continue a conversation with his buddy than servicing a paying customer. I actually stood there for probably another 5 minutes and not one time did he look over to acknowledge or tell me he was working on my drink. I finally just walked out and said F to the drink. I will not tolerate being ignored and I hope to God it wasn't because I'm Hispanic!! I always support small business but in this case I won't be back!! Sorry!! Now listen to me very closely and clearly Mr lift Coffee Roaster Owner. Fire that dude now before he's runs all your paying customers away. If you continue to hire people that don't give a shit about paying customers. BELIEVE you me, you'll be closed in less that a year!! There are lots of choices, especially in Whittier where people can go to get coffee, desserts, a sandwich, and a cold drink!! I normally post (good & bad) on Yelp and recommend eateries to friends or family. In this case, my recommendation is going to be don't go near that place! Take notes from Starbucks!! Great products and amazing customer service!! Fix this and start giving a shit about your customers!! read more

The drink I got (Latte) was very middle of the road: I believe the steamer was left on the drink too long, overaerating the drink. I was hoping to get a bagel, but their selection is so limited they didn't offer any bagels or food. A Welcome Addition to West Whittier…read more I visit this Philz Coffee location whenever I'm back in town visiting family, and it has consistently been a great experience. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and they're especially helpful when I have questions about the menu. I don't actually purchase coffee that often. When I do, it's usually either Philz or a local mom-and-pop coffee shop/hole-in-the-wall. So whenever I walk into a Philz, there's usually something new for me to try or ask about. On my most recent visit, I also realized I had somehow created two Philz accounts. After placing my order, I asked the cashier if they could be merged, and they kindly provided me with the appropriate customer service email rather than leaving me to figure it out myself. I also asked about their cold brew. I ordered my usual Honey Haze, but I wanted to treat my grandmother to a coffee as well. She loves coffee and drinks it black -- usually a medium roast that she brews in a big batch at home. The cashier recommended the Mission Cold Brew, so I decided to give it a try for her. I delivered it to my grandmother later that day, knowing she would probably save it for the next morning since caffeine too late in the day can interfere with her sleep. I followed up with her the next day, and she loved it! That recommendation definitely earned some points with both of us. The Whittier location is consistently clean, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and I appreciate having Philz as another coffee option in West Whittier and The Groves Whittier. I mentioned a peanut allergy and he thoughtfully grabbed all of the ingredients from the back fridge rather than using the ones at the counter to help avoid any possible cross-contamination. That extra care was really appreciated. Another nice touch was the complimentary coffee station near the cashier with oat milk and raw sugar available for guests. This location is inside Rodeo 72. I decided I would try this confusion of a mess coffee shop, sense I work down the street and my co-workers raised about A small kitchen renting inside lift named Rize kitchen. Come to find out they disappeared I tried calling the number provided on their personal yelp and no one answers. The coffee taste like run down water with a splash of coffee. I then decidedly to order what they call avocado toast. The avocado was overly salty, the tomatoes had extra salad and egg was salted as well . It took of 27 minutes to get this I then asked the owner what happened to the other menu and he rudely told me I am causing problems! For asking? I really wanted to like this place. Do your self a favor and walk to Monarca what a joke. read more

I ordered a caramel latte and it was forgotten , I waited 20 minutes to go up to the barista and ask about my order again . The manager took my order and forgot it. Then I got my latte almost cold not warm or hot at all . The nice girl offered us a pastry on the house while the manager didnt even talk to us or apologize for the fogtren order . I love the environment and will go back to give it another try the prices are way too high for the amount of coffee you get . read more

BEST COFFEE SHOP IN SOCAL. Such an amazing set up at Lift. First off, the staff and owner are awesome and so friendly. The place is so fascinating on the interior- it's a must see. They have gorgeous plants and succulents, a mini "farm shop" from a local farm, plus the coolest street art out there. P.S.- the almond croissant is a must have when you go in read more

I'm not to impressed by this place. The wait time sucks and the drinks aren't even that great. Not even many options available. There's always some kind of issue when I go and I always feel like it's shutting down. Don't think I will be giving this place another chance. The only thing that was good was the pistachio croissant because my kid likes it. read more

Recently I noticed a review mentioning that the younger employees sometimes struggle to keep up during busy periods and occasionally mess up orders. Unfortunately, I've had a similar experience more than once. To be fair, everyone makes mistakes, and working in customer service isn't easy. But after enough incorrect drinks, forgotten modifications, and inconsistent quality, I finally reached my breaking point. Ironically, I should probably thank Bark Coffee. The repeated order issues were the final push I needed to buy my own espresso machine. After spending some time dialing in my grinder settings, shot times, and technique, I'm now making coffee at home with a level of consistency and quality that honestly exceeds what I was getting during many of my visits. So thank you, Bark. You inadvertently inspired me to learn a new skill and save a little money in the process. Will I ever come back? Probably. If I run out of beans, need caffeine while already on the road, or don't feel like making coffee myself, I'll stop by. But for the foreseeable future, I'll be enjoying LARP Coffee from my own kitchen, where the barista never gets my order wrong. Wishing the team the best and hoping they can improve consistency moving forward.

Philz Coffee

I was having a weird day so the positive encounter helped alleviate some of my anxiety. Thank you ladies!
