To quote my husband (an amateur food judge with the palate of a professional critic): The Classic Breakfast Burrito is "easily the best breakfast burrito" ...and he means ever. We've had most of the hole-in-the-wall breakfast burrito places in Whittier as well as surrounding cities like Monrovia, Pasadena, etc and these are the clear winner. Crispy bacon and potatoes, creamy cheese sauce with the softest egg, and smokey roasted pepper flavor. A+++ thank you Lift and all the food preppers that make them! As long as you have this item, we'll be regulars :) read more

We were taking a walk in downtown Whittier last Saturday in the early afternoon, saw this cute little coffee place and decided to give it a try. It's small and the posted menu is limited, but there were a lot of people working on laptops, so it seemed like a popular place. The 2 people behind the counter were very welcoming and friendly. They made suggestions and offered pastries that looked good, but we'd just had lunch so we declined. The prices were reasonable and because of the staff, it felt like a more personable experience than the large chain coffee store across the street. We ordered a vanilla latte and two cappuccinos which were very good. We'd definitely return. read more

Very good Chilaquiles, the quality of the ingredients was noticeable. Only critique is the wait time. Would recommend.

Coffees good and has many adjustment options made easy to order. Good vibes but definitely on the pricey side!

Best coffee place around! The staff goes above and beyond to serve an amazing experience to their guests. The energy of the shop is welcoming and kind. Also, super cool to look around!! read more

Absolutely shameful! Stephen the owner should be ashamed of himself. He tried to say "self defense" against a minor who DID NOT put hands on him !Then had the audacity to "fist bump" the officer who scared that poor kid away from pressing charges! I already love everything about this place and our relationship was only established an hour ago. Yelp check-in offer, yessss pls! Already on to a good start when I check into a biz and they're saving me money. In terms of real estate, I find the fact that the shop sits on the corner very attractive, I don't know why. As you walk in, the open space and the semi-high ceilings make it easy to navigate the room and explore your study spot location options. Leather furniture has the same effect on me as velvet furnishings; I don't know what it is, but, I just go nuts for them- and Lift has the perfect set at their location (leather couches). I would have never left if it were up to me- aside from prime study spots, it's got coffee (source of energy) and a deli (source of fuel). Why ever leave? Again, the encounter was short. I met a friend for coffee and had to return home for an errand. I'm saddened at the fact that Lift Coffee Roasters isn't located closer to my home. I don't think I've ever encountered such a homey place that would make me comfortable enough to camp out and stay for hours, or let alone leave my house. Yet, Lift has done it. Please open on Vermont and Adams so you'll be walking distance from my house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I parked on the street which didn't seem too difficult and the establishment was pretty easy to locate because it's on the corner of the street with its doors open providing a very welcoming atmosphere. I was also welcomed in by the baristas and staff with such a cheerful attitude --similar to how they greeted regulars --even though it was my first time there. I was surprised when I was sitting on the couch and the barista walked over to hand me my order. Most people are there to work on their laptops so usually the seats and tables are full. There's music playing in the background to complement the overall vibes. The honey latte was a sweet and delicious drink that was almost addictive for me. read more

Just paid $8 to have the absolute worst iced mocha I've ever had.. bad enough for me to write my first review ever.

I enjoyed my honey lavender decaf latte but I was extremely disappointed in that they did not honor the $1 off yelp check in. WARNING!!! I thought their prices were way too high as it was and the one dollar coupon would have definitely made a difference for me, but the girl who helped me said that they don't honor it and that was connected to the former owner, which is disappointing because they could easily take that down. Due to that deception, there's absolutely no way I could give them more than three stars. It's the owners responsibility to update their advertisements and it's also in best practice to honor what is being advertised, rather than be deceptive to customers. There are way too many competitors in the area to mess up like that! read more

The owner of this establishment likes to beat up on 16 year old boys who weigh maybe 130 pounds while the owner seems to be 6'2 250+ pounds

Was in town for the weekend and was looking for a local coffee spot for a quick bite and this was exactly what I was hoping for! I loved everything about this spot - from the aesthetic to the coffee to the food, nothing disappointed. I got the vegan breakfast burrito and it was AMAZING! Coming from San Diego where we have some of the best vegan food, I can say this was one of the best breakfast burritos I've had. Shoutout to the gentleman who recommended the Just Egg over the tofu. I'd definitely return next time I'm in town. read more

I have traveled my way to all the Lift locations!!! Back in college I would go to Lift on Central in Riverside to get coffee and get work done. As the years went by I was able to see them grow and followed them to each of their coffee houses and I love them all! My all time favorite is still the one on Chicago in Riverside ( check it out!) But I love them all because they're all the same but also all different! My go to drink ALWAYS the hazelnut iced latte. This is always a great atmosphere to study and get any work done. There's outlets and wifi for you to utilize. For this specific location, parking may be tricky especially on the street. It's usually around 2 hr parking and there's parking a block behind as well. Cant get enough of Lift! read more

I was excited to try this place but ended up disappointed. The Spanish latte although it had great flavor, was just simply cold, not even warm. Flavor was ok, but how can u serve something so cold. No pastries or cook for food at 0800??? How can u be a coffee spot and not have anything else to offer for a morning snack. Plus no decaf option.... read more

I was so sad with my experience here. I had been looking forward to it and the staff was NOT welcoming or happy at all. When my boyfriend was a bit confused on what to order they made no suggestions. They never once smiled and as we waited one of the girls just looked at us very aggressively. It's a coffee shop, you are supposed to brighten people's days. We walked away so disappointed from the moment no one acknowledged us to the moment we left. Also no food at all! We thought we'd be able to share a pastry and they had zero things available. good coffee at a somewhat reasonable price, their cappuccinos never fail me whatsoever, whoever is an aux duty is a champ, and overall vibe of the cafe is dim and relaxing. the only frustration i have with lift is that 1 drink will routinely take 10~ minutes, 20 with a fuller house. but, if you have the time and patience, theres not much better coffee in whittier. read more

I love this place in the center of Whittier. The only thing is that traffic can get pretty busy outside this corner establishment. The parking is a bear too. Parking is right behind the cafe as well. The decor is beautiful and unique. The latte is handcrafted to perfection. They take their time and made a beautiful latte art design in my latte. Next time I come I will definitely order this latte again. The portions are what you would expect and not on the small end. My latte was so light and sweet and smooth. The kind that just takes you to heaven and back to earth for another sip. When your taste buds are in overdrive because they just want to keep sipping. Yes it's that good. The customer service is great. And the cafe was very clean. There are many areas to sit and chat with friends. Or just have some quiet time alone to read. Come and visit and see for yourself how delishes these lattes are. read more

Stumbled upon this coffee shop as my hubby and I were leaving Uptown Whittier . One of the cashiers recommended the Brown Sugar Latte , I added Vanilla Cold Foam to it. It tastes SO BOMB. Best Chorrizo Burrito this 70 year old ever tasted! Created with love and smiles. Went looking for a coffee and pastries. Boy was I surprised. I really enjoyed the double espresso on ice. We were riding our bicycles on the Greenway bicycle trail and stopped in uptown for my 400pm iced coffee break. All three of us ordered different iced coffee drinks. This coffee shop is right on the corner of Greenleaf & Bailey St. in uptown Whittier. I stopped in on a Sunday morning after reading the good reviews on yelp the music was pretty cool mellow acoustic coffee shop music there was one person inside and 2 guys working. There was plenty of seating from comfy couches or big tables with chairs. The coffee was ready pretty quick and it was delish not to sweet just the right amount of everything. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. read more

This place is like a little art gallery which is a cool concept for a coffee shop. Come and take pics and stay to study in a cool environment. Which already gets them 5 stars. Got a double shot and an iced white tea. Tea was awesome. Espresso was a bit too sour and thin for my liking. It probably goes well in a flavored latte where the sugar can mask the espresso but as straight espresso it's not something you can sip and enjoy. It tastes like they're not dosing in enough beans. Service seemed super rushed even though it wasn't busy. Kind of confused about the whole coffee situation though. They're branded as Lift "coffee roasters" but use Solid Coffees products? This is a good coffee shop. It's the only good craft coffee in Uptown Whittier. The food is okay. I got a breakfast burrito to go and was surprised to see that my tortilla was blue. I didn't know it was going to be blue so I called the restaurant and the number was disconnected. I had to look up Yelp reviews to make sure other people had blue tortillas. They put a lot of sour cream in the burrito or some type of crema that I didn't love but didn't hate. Overall I was too hungry to care by the time I realized the burrito was safe to eat lol. They are also very slow so be prepared to wait. read more
