Extremely disappointing experience at Lexie's Exeter tonight, and unfortunately, the customer service was worse than the wait itself. We ordered two burgers and a chicken tender basket at 6:30 PM and were quoted a 30-minute wait. Our food wasn't ready until 7:20 PM. I completely understand it's Friday night and restaurants get busy. But if an order is going to take 50 minutes, don't advertise 30 minutes. I had a young child with me and specifically planned our arrival around the promised 7:00 PM pickup time. I checked in twice and was dismissed both times with vague assurances that our food would be ready soon. Meanwhile, customers who ordered 15 minutes AFTER us were receiving their food, including significantly larger orders. When I finally expressed my frustration, rather than receiving an apology or even an acknowledgment, I was brushed off with what felt like a passive-aggressive "Have a good night." I wasn't looking for free food or special treatment. Just honest communication and basic courtesy. As a local resident, I make an effort to support businesses in our community. Unfortunately, Lexie's made it very clear tonight that my time and concerns weren't important. A long wait is forgivable. Terrible customer service isn't. I won't be returning, and I certainly won't be recommending Lexie's to friends or family. A really disappointing experience from a local business I wanted to support. read more

Walked in and saw a bunch of dirty tables that hadn't been cleaned, was then was served our food by the same person we watched pick up the trash from the tables and not sure if he washed his hands as the service time in between was too quick for comfort. Interesting place. There are two sides. You can choose to take the food to go or move to the other side of the building and eat in. The place seems to be trying to attempt to be a 50's burger type joint. Loud oldies music. The acoustics are a meh. The layout of the place seems like it was just thrown together with wobbly tables and slightly uncomfortable benches. I do like the encouragement of kids drawing their interpretation of the business logo of Peace, Love & Burgers. In fact, even though the food was ok, I like this aspect the most. I have the Green Muenster and Fried Pickles. The burger is a good size and tasty. I was hoping for a bit more of a bite of spice. The pickled onions were coated in an armor of batter that was a bit salty. My partner had a burger special with gochujang. Interesting thought, but no spicy taste at all. He ordered onion rings with the same salty and armor-like batter. This stuff is hard on the jaw. The wait staff seemed pleasant, yet awkward. Overall, it was a good quick lunch. Lexi's in Exeter use to be good, it's in the toilet now! Service was horrible and the food as evidenced above was nasty.. The rings and fries were good and my burger which took forever to receive, people after us 2 separate tables received their food first.. The server a young guy didn't even know the other staffs name, calling her Grace and her name is Gabby.. Hubby got a grilled cheese with a burger on it, 2 skimpy pieces of cheese and the bread wasn't grilled at all. The Big Catch Fish Sandwich which is 11 bucks was a disgusting overcooked fishstick on a bun, hubby only wanted cheese.. The image below was a re-do of the Sandwich we sent the first one back... Lexi's has gone down hill and the staff today could care less... Very sad! read more

Our families was greeted with Lexie's Burgers, fried and shakes the day we moved in nearly 5 yrs ago. We continue to return. Recently, I had an extra good experience with service on a phone order. Bridgid was extra helpful, cheerful & proactive to make sure we got exactly what we hoped for and we did. Brigid was also slammed juggle a lot at peak hour and NEVER showed the slightest whisper of irritation by my questions or delayed answered. They were good. Fresh stuff. $6 classic burger. ok bun. Shakes were great, not overly sweet. I learned that usually too choclatey means much sweet, overdoing it with the syrup. But here it was rich and chocolatey, yet not overly sweet. Same with the strawberry- strong strawberry but not too sugary. Little cookies with the receipt were good too. Lexie's has always been a go to for affordable and tasty eats. Brought a friend who never had Lexie's and she was beyond thrilled! While the food is always delicious this evening our service was bar done thE friendliest ever by a sweet young lady named Dani. Kudos to Dani, and lucky to you Lexie's for hiring someone so pleasant and charming. Side bar- my only gripe is they use paper and plastic everything. Lexie's makes the best burger on the Seacoast. I was a chef, and - DUDE - I make the best burgers. But they were huge. Too big. Lexie's taught me that big is not always better. TL;DR Good food, super casual, not good for some physically handicapped people This review is a 4 for the food and service, but there is room for improvement, and I believe it's really on the corporate level. Using cocktail napkins as napkins when your eating messy food is not appropriate, or cost effective as I used way more napkins than I would have with better ones. Also serving fries topped with yummy deliciousness in a small paper tray does not work well. The water station is a nice idea, but I was on crutches and asked for a water and was directed to the water station. I get the feeling they don't like to have to wash dishes, the silverware the cups the trays, everything's paper plastic and disposable. Also being on crutches, It would have been helpful if the door to the dining room, where the open flag is by the way, was an actual door to get into the restaurant, rather than having to go to the door where the counter is and walk backwards to the dining room. Many people go to that door first since that's where the flag is, it was actually comical to have to watch everyone walk to the other door. Also when I was looking for a restaurant to go to, this one said it was wheelchair accessible on Yelp, but then I get there and there are no handicap spots out front, and the bathroom is not ADA compatible. Now for the food. The burgers were good, sort of like 5 guys, you can build your own with tons of toppings. But they also have some signature burgers so that you don't have to nickel and dime yourself to death. I had no idea what hush was on the instant classic burger, but I saw hush hush on the sauce menu and assumed it was a sauce, still not really sure what it was. I had it, reminded me a little of Big Mac sauce, the burger was good but messy, drippy droppy everywhere, no silverware. I also got hot fries. I liked the toppings, but only the top layer has toppings. When I read hand cut fries, I didn't expect shoestring, but they were good. One thing that bugged me was that I paid $5.95 for a chocolate shake and they charged me an extra .25 for whipped cream. Really? read more

Since it is not right in the downtown but out by the rail station I sometimes forget it is here. But then I have a craving for a decent veggie burger and onion rings (or even fried pickles!) Tried this place for the first time in Exeter, and it is one of my new favorite spots on the way to, or home, from the beach. Quiet spot, good parking, and tucked away so it's like a secret. We were seated right away by super friendly staff, and the ambiance was great for after a trip to the beach. Menu was clear and incredibly well priced, with plenty of options available. Food came out swiftly and was obviously made fresh once we ordered it. Couldn't get enough of their hush sauce on the plain fries. Ordered the farmhouse and it had a perfectly cooked egg on it. All in all an amazing spot. 10/10 would recommend and I will be back ASAP for more. Wish there was one closer so I could get my burger fix more often! read more

I can't get enough of the herb aioli. And the fries are little dark shoe string fries. They seem like home made fries which frequently goes wrong but they are amazing here. I liked the fresh toppings on the fish taco. The fish itself tasted a little "fishy". But my husbands burger was delicious. The chocolate shake was also worth the money.
