I love this restaurant. I've been coming here since I was a young teen exploring a vegetarian and then vegan diet. This was the first place I ate vegan food that I stopped and said "this is delicious", but there is also a great selection of non- vegetarian food as well! The employees are excellent and really care about providing the best service. The space is beautiful and provides a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. My only suggestion would be a bigger wine list, but there is a decent selection of organic and delicious wines! The beer selection is excellent, no complaints there. I will continue to suggest The Oak House to anyone looking for a new go-to restaurant.

Best vegan options around. Everything is always fresh and tasty. I love the options available and being able to try new dishes. The vegan desserts are always amazing too. Great atmosphere inside. Staff are always smiling and seemingly happy.

The "Franken fries" are amazing!!!! And I liked the name ;)

I just came here for the first time and I immediately fell in love with this place. I ordered the Franken Fries...nice name ;) The food is outstanding, I had the Durgin burger with the house made coleslaw, and tried a piece of the Lil Kim (grilled cheese made with kimchi and Korean BBQ) # AMAZING!!! Also the "Give me Samoa" drink was delicious. The staff was very attentive and made every effort to keep the place clean/sanitized. Overall The Oak House will NOT disappoint...see you there, Frank

Tuesdays are $1.50 chicken tender and happy hour all day. We got buffalo, Thai peanut and spicy bbq sauces on our tenders. Everyone was happy with the flavors. For me, personally, the chicken was overcooked, stringy and dry. The fries were amazing, great flavor, perfectly seasoned. Will definitely go back here!

Today I waited 20 minutes for a chicken sandwich with Buffalo sauce, and some tenders with Ginger garlic sauce. They can out reversed. The kitchen lied to our server and told us we were wrong, but really? I don't know what buffalo sauce tastes like. And the server didn't know the difference, she just brought the same old food back out. We were already on our way out the door. Even if they lied and told us it was US that were wrong, we were not going to be gaslit into eating incorrectly prepared meals. I spoke with the manager. I admit I was obviously upset, but I did not raise my voice or curse, and she seemed to think that because I was upset she could be dismissive and not actually recognize the kitchens mistake, but chose to try and make it about my behavior. Maybe this manager is where the kitchen learned to gaslight people from. It will be a long, long time before I give them another chance, and sadly, according to Yelp, I am the Duke of Wing Itz, as I have checked in there more than any other reviewer.

There's also a digital jukebox on the wall near the bar. The food menu offers a variety of starters (dips, nachos, flatbread cerviche, empanadas), soup, salads, sliders, wraps, fried chicken sandwiches, entrees (mofongo, mac & cheese, pollo asado, quesadilla), and desserts. The pricing here seems fair. They offer a happy hour menu (4pm-6pm) and late night menu (10pm-12am). At the bar, 6 draft beers, bottle/can beers, seltzers, wine, and signature mixed drinks are offered. I stopped by Mia recently for some happy hour bites. I took a seat up at the bar and ordered an ice water and the Nachos ($8 plus tax) and Big Mozzarella Sticks ($8 plus tax). The place was moderately busy here on a Friday evening. The appetizers came out in 10 minutes. The Nachos were the right size for 1-2 people, warm crispy tortilla chips loaded with melted cheddar jack sauce, peppers, onions, jalapenos, & pico de gallo. The 4 homemade thick mozzarella logs were lightly breaded & crispy outside with melted mozzarella cheese inside with a sweet marinara sauce (cold) for dipping. I managed to finish both appetizers before I requested the check which was $17.36 with tax and before tip. Overall, Mia is a great place to stop and unwind for food and drinks. The staff at the bar was quite busy during my stop here and let me enjoy my food in peace while watching sports highlights on the TV.

The short version: they take pride in their product and it turns out well above the usual. Friendly family operation. -- Buffalo Wings: Not gargantuan, but good size. Good contrast between crisp skin and tender inner flesh. Decent juiciness on the drums and very good juiciness on the flats. Tasty sauce. -- Fries: When I learned they're not fresh hand-cut, the owner was kind enough to provide a small sample to try. A decent rendition for frozen.  -- Nashville Hot Wings: Tried on the second visit, as a combo with coleslaw and split with an eating buddy. A clinical presentation of technical wings perfection, with each piece crisp outside, tender and juicy inside, and generously coated but not overloaded with fresh, tasty wing sauce. A little grit to this one to deliver dry spices as well as liquid, and a noticeable amount of heat that complemented nicely. A joy to view and a joy to eat. -- Mango Habanero Hot Wings: Tried on the second visit, as a combo with onion rings and split with an eating buddy. More technical perfection and similar praise for the sauce, which balances sweet and heat nicely. Even nicer was a little garnish of mango on top. Like the Nashville Hot, these were superb. (And if you check my other reviews, you'll see that I don't go throwing around compliments and 5-star reviews to just anyone.) -- Onion Rings: A frozen product, but crisp, not greasy, and seasoned. Not seafood shack or roast beef joint quality, but good for what it was. -- Coleslaw: A larger-than-expected serving with an unexpected flavor. Crisp, creamy, but with a certain something or somethings that begged for more forkfuls. Seeds (I think caraway) and fruit (cranberries and apples) added oomph and a floral component. If I didn't have plans after, I'd have bought more to take home. Friendly, hands-on owner who puts his heart and soul into the food, from the presentation (including a stainless steel bone dish and plastic gloves) to the pinpoint technical excellence of the wings (nailed the crisp, the juiciness, the right amount of sauce) to the creativity (the mango garnish; apples and cranberries in the coleslaw). Even without table service, comfy booths, and beer, an easy 5.

We were told they cook a new batch of chicken every 10 minutes. It was nice to know that it hadn't been cooked at noon and sitting under a heat lamp all day. And it tasted like it was freshly cooked. I had the Lamb Gyro and my husband had a fried chicken Value Box. My gyro was the best I've had in NH. It was truly the biggest gyro as well. The pita bread was fresh, soft and tasty. The lamb was yummy and no tough pieces. It came with all the fixings. If you can image a regular paper plate folded in half, that is how big the gyro was; the paper plate was for stabilization. It was a very yummy meal in itself. The chicken in the Value Pack was fresh, juicy and tasted much better than the national chicken chain. It was still hot when we got it home 30 minutes later. The meal came with 9 pieces of chicken (and the wings were larger than the puny ones at the national chain), 2 small containers of mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls and a container of cole slaw. The mashed potatoes were really good - they had a nice buttery flavor. The cole slaw was excellent and fresh. The cabbage still had a crunch to it and just a tad bit of sweetness. The rolls were also fresh and soft. You can eat-in but everyone was doing take-out when we were there (about 6:30 pm on a Saturday. The service was fast, efficient and polite. The food was a great value for the price. We will be going back and highly recommend it.

Maaz's Chicken serves up fried chicken, sandwiches, gyros, burgers, rice platters, fried seafood, appetizers, salads, desserts, and cooler drinks (Pepsi products/Gatorade). The prices here seem reasonable. I stopped by Maaz's Chicken for lunch and dinner on Grand Opening Day when they were giving out free lunch (selected items) and 50 percent off the menu all day. The place was very busy with a line out the door. The owner had a DJ playing music near the entrance and chatting with customers. The owner is from Rhode Island and actually works across the border in Mass. The owner was looking for a place to open a chicken restaurant and chose Franklin, NH since it's a good area, bypassing Franklin, MA (for now) much closer to Bellingham, MA and Rhode Island. The lunch line was very busy and I eventually got up to the counter and ordered the Chicken Sandwich and 2 pc Fried Chicken with Fries and can of Diet Pepsi and strawberry Hood Ice Cream for dessert, all complementary for lunch. The chicken sandwich was big with a thick breaded buffalo tender with lettuce & mayo, pretty good. The shoestring fries were decent and the fried chicken had a nice crispy salty coating on the outside. I decided I would return later for dinner takeout. I returned for dinner takeout several hours later and the place was getting slammed with the line almost to the door. I ordered a bunch of food including a Beef Gyro ($8.99 plus tax), 6 Mozzarella Sticks ($6.25 plus tax), Chicken Over Rice Platter ($10.99 plus tax) and a 2 Pc Tilapia with Fries & Slaw ($11.99 plus tax). With the Grand Opening Discount, my total with tax was $20.83. After ordering, there was another line of customers waiting to pick up their food after paying. I waited about 16 minutes for my big order to be all set. They did run out of cole slaw and let me substitute Banana Pudding which is normally the same price as cole slaw ($2.99 plus tax). I checked my order before leaving and everything was there. I enjoyed my big dinner back at the office and the portions of food were generous. The Chicken Over Rice Platter was excellent, which had firm seasoned rice topped with marinated hot chicken pieces, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, white sauce. The Beef Gyro was overflowing with beef gyro meat, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and a house dressing in a soft warm thick wrap. The Mozzarella Sticks were standard and came with marinara dipping sauce. The 2 Pc Tilapia with Fries was comprised of 2 good size fried tilapia filets with a seasoned breading and a pile of shoestring fries, tartar sauce was provided too. The Banana Pudding was sweet and topped with Nilla Wafer cookies. Overall, I was able to try a variety of foods here at Maaz's Chicken including the grand opening lunch and discounted dinner food. The fried chicken though crispy outside was very salty and dry, probably due to the volume of customers ordering the same thing. The fries at lunch time were not very hot (staff trying to serve the masses at lunch) and the fries I got with my tilapia dinner were hot and firm. The Chicken Over Rice Platter and Beef Gyro were excellent and my favorites of the day. This rating is based on the dinner takeout (4.5/5.0) and not on the grand opening lunch.
