I received what was quite possible the warmest welcome in the history of Durham, NH when I stumbled upon here on a very rainy day moments before closing. The "thumbs" (the better version of chicken fingers) and fries were scrumptious and just what I needed. Franz helped me feel right at home and very welcome for my first time in NH. Awful. They have Reubens on the menu, but they clearly have no idea what a Reuben is. I should have known I was in trouble when they asked if I wanted onions. Then mustard. what I got was grocery store bread and no sauerkraut, for $10. Will never go again. read more

oh the love affair that is Franz's food. :) Franz's is a STAPLE of downtown Durham. Classic hangover food... or not even hungover! JB's are the things dreams are made of.. back in my day there was only one on the menu but now there's so many whiffs on the original there is something for everyone. Only the true believers know how fuc*ing good Franz's chicken salad is.. especially when wrapped in flatbread with a hash-brown and AMCheese stuck in there... DROOL (thank me later) Now I get Franz's is in a college town, but literally people of all ages (students or not) need to do themselves a solid and swing through for some grub. Franz's is amazing and deserves more reviews. Most people just order food and pick it up, resulting in not much to write about regarding service and what not. However, the food is amazing and the menu is much more extensive than one may think. The menu is much bigger in person compared to online. Everyone's favorite is the "JB" which is two fried eggs, a hash brown, bacon, cheese, and ketchup in a tortilla wrap. It's delicious. Since the recent renovations, there has been new combinations for the JB added to the menu. There are also numerous different sandwiches to choose from, with all very fresh deli meats. Not to mention, an entire hot dog menu. It's also cute that the entire shop is right inside a laundromat. I definitely recommend trying this place out if you're in the area! Also to top it off, Franz the owner, is always in his restaurant is a great and genuine guy to talk to. read more

This place sucks. Overrated food and bad service. U can make better eggs in a microwave.

My new favorite place around the greater campus to get something to eat. Fries are crispy and delicious, and the burgers I've had have been awesome, especially the messy Mr. Meister. They also make their own soda, of which the cream soda is delicious. My only regret is I'm finally giving this place a try at the tail end of my career at UNH. read more

The phantom gourmet featured Franz's and it's claim to fame is "the best restaurant in a laundromat" which is just what it is. Franz's is a little nook restaurant featured inside a laundromat on the campus of UNH. This place has the BEST breakfast burritos you will ever eat. If you're feeling really hungry you have to try the JB breakfast burrito. This burrito is crunchy and savory and will leave you more than satisfied. The grilled muffin with butter is one of my favorites as well. Franz's has outdoor seating and outdoor radio which is great to lounge and eat breakfast or brunch outdoors when it's nice outside. Franz himself is a charismatic guy who always seems full of energy and happy to serve you. A+ breakfast on the go. read more

The JB wrap is legendary. It's about as good as it gets when it comes to the college life breakfast. The JB wrap takes literally forever so unless you have like 12 hours make sure to call ahead. Either way the JB wrap is worth it. Go here and experience it for yourself. read more
