The owner as well as the staff is very friendly. Provide ride to drop off or pick up. Sane more than 100 compare to dealer onregular maintainance. I would actually give out a five start except that later i found the tires pressure is off by 4 psi from left to right. If they can't get the simple things right out make me wonder what other things the mechanics are not paying attention to. They don't wash your car and park your car on public road because of the small size lot. Hey, i guess that is how i save money over dealerships read more

Took my GX470 2004 in because it stopped on the highway & wouldn't start. Mike replaced an "oxygen sensor" for $940 and it seemed to work. Less than a month later, it again konked out on the highway & I had to have it towed to him. This time he noticed that there was a slow leak from the coolant to the engine, tightened it & stated that I needed second "oxygen senor" to be replaced for another $900. He had missed the leak from the first time. I told him not to replace the oxygen sensor. I google online & found out that the oxygen sensor cost upto $125 @ most & should cost no more than $50 labor as it is easy to a mechanic to replace. I found the oxygen senor online, bought it for $50 & had a Toyota mechanic install it for $35!!!! That's $85 vs $900! It's been a year and it is still working fine. The problem with these so call Lexus, Mercedes, ro Jaguar focus shops, is that they all used to work at the dealers, have access to dealer prices, and get their business by undercutting the dealer prices by 15 to 20%. It seems that practically everything that they fix, they will charge @ least $700 or more or it is not worth their time to fix it. Even if it is an easy job. Just because these are expensive cars, doesn't mean everything should cost a fortune to fix. I advise googling online for reasonable charges before agreeing to have any of these mechanics fix them. read more

My Highlander Hybrid has alway been professionally serviced when due with only Toyota parts in my quest to have it last 200k miles. After a particularly predatory quoted from the dealership I envisioned to locate a professional independent Toyota Master Mechanic to service my Hybrid. I have found that man in Mke, the owner of this company. I was a mechanic in an earlier life and asked questions based on this vehicles characteristics and what I was looking to have done as part of its 100K service cycle. he answered every question I came with clarity and explanation. I had follow up questions and services outside those items and he gave me all the confidence I need to ask for it all. He isa professional and delivers the same for an honest price. I consider myself lucky to have found this person and shop to maintain this fine automobile and protect me from further problems in its future. I have found my last and final mechanic. read more

Still love Mike and his team! They are honest and really cares about their customers and their cars. I've been in another few times since my last review, and Mike still never disappoints. I am so sad I have to say good-bye to Mike, since I just got a new car that's not in the Lexus/Toyota family. But I've got my husband hooked up Mike, and he still owns a Toyota! Highly recommend Mike and Lex Mastertech. read more

I am very disappointed with my past visit. I was already aware of the problem thar my Lexus IS250 had, but after reading the reviews I thought I would get a better deal here. I was wrong! Mike quoted me at $720 and the dealer had already given me a quote at $520. Isn't the dealer always more expensive? What is more frustrating is that I went to go pick up my car and I was never forewarned about the $49 diagontoc fee. To make matters worse I had to wait an hour for them to charge my battery so I can drive my car home. read more

A stellar review from a colleague about Mike's service had me bring my car here for the 15,000 mile service. And I, like my colleague and the other reviewers, give Mike and his staff a big "thumbs up"! read more

I have tried a few mechanics around, and Mike is my choice for the best. He is very strict with assessing the time of job completion and very honest; he would also frequently do minor maintenance and not charge me. Extremely professional and dependable. read more

Mike and his crew have done an excellent job with my Prius and my husband's Lexus. They do good, reliable work and are honest. Unlike my experience with the local Toyota dealer, they don't recommend services that I don't really need. I recommend Lex Mastertech. read more

Outstanding operation. Performed multiple points of service on our ES350, including maintenance service and repairs. I truly appreciate their Lexus knowledge and professionalism. Their inspection was thorough and they were excellent in reviewing the needed work. I am most impressed with the car's performance after their work. I am definitely very happy with them and have made them our new regular shop. read more

I was referred to Lex Master Tech by an elderly couple who have been taking their car to Mike for years. They told me they wouldn't go anywhere else and they were very happy with them. I have been taking my car to the dealer for years because I'm very cautious about mechanics. After talking with couple, I decided to bring my car there for service and I have to admit that I am very happy with their work and professionalism. Everyone I spoke with in the shop was very nice. They were very prompt with the repair and their prices are good. I will definitely be going back there anytime I need work done on my Lexus. If you are as cautious as me, definitely give them a try. You will be glad. read more

I bought my 2010 Lexus ES 350 to Mike at LEX Mastertech after discovering that my car was leaking pink tinged fluid and oil from the engine. I called my dealership who has serviced my car since I purchased it there ten years ago. I was told that it was the water pump that had gone and that the timing chain was the source of the oil leak. I was quoted over $6000 to fix the problem as I was told that the engine had to be removed to get to the timing chain. Needless to say, I sought out a second opinion and found Mike on Yelp. He discovered that the fluid leak was coming from a cracked radiator tank and the oil was leaking from the valve cover gasket. When all was said and done, my $6000 repair bill was a mere fraction of that price and the car is running perfectly now. Mike is a terrific guy who is honest and instills confidence by the quality work he performs. He is hands on. He even discovered the reason for my wiper blades jumping when in operation that Lexus couldn't figure out. It was a simple fix. I will never bring my car back to the dealership and I wonder how many thousands of dollars I wasted by having my car serviced there all these years after the warranty was up. You can trust your vehicle to Mike and LEX Mastertech. read more

Awesome mechanics! I am always afraid that some places don't actually do anything but Mike and the boys showed me the parts he repaired on my Scion Xb. 1 year/12,000 mile warranty incase anything happens is definite plus. I recommend this place to any Toyota / Lexus owners. read more

Mike is always helpful. When I feel like somethings not wrong with my car, I give him a call. I don't know anything about cars, so I probably ask the stupidest questions, but Mike always answers. When I take it in, he is more than accommodating. I always feel safe taking my car there. My family all drives Lexus so I always tell them to take their car to Mike as well. read more

This is my 2nd time getting my Lexus serviced at LTS. Mike knows his stuff, and is one of the most honest mechanics I've dealt with. I usually have them give me a ride to Old Town and they pick me up when I'm ready in a timely fashion. The prices are reasonable and I never feel that he is taking advantage of me. read more

Best place in Pasadena to take your Lexus or Toyota, the techs there are friendly and use to work at the dealership plus the prices are way better then what you pay at the dealership. Take my Toyota Truck and and Lexus is350 their all the time. Thanks Mike and Lawrence for the great service read more

Honest Mechanic!... not two words that usually go together. Mike will do his best to find the problem and will let you know what other things he finds in the process . Last time I had my car fixed here, Mike told me he found a couple of other minor issues but that my dad (he knows my dad works on my car) would likely be able to fix them easily. He's definitely not trying to scam you for money. His wife is usually the one that answers the phones and she's very pleasant to speak with. Overall, they seem like an amazing team and I'm assuming that's why they've been so successful. My only suggestion would be that they hire someone in the office to pick up the phone during all business hours when their unavailable because sometimes it's hit or miss. read more

From the customer service, to the work done on my car, Mike and his crew provided excellent service all around. I will continue go here for all my vehicle maintenance needs. read more

Come here for service or oil changes instead of Jiffy Lube which is right down the block. Armando and Mike know how to treat their customers well. I went in here after Jiffy Lube refused to take responsibility for a rattling noise that they caused. Armando and Mike took a look and found the pair of pliers Jiffy Lube left in my engine. They didn't charge me at all. Honest mechanics that aren't just out to gouge their customers. I'm taking my car here from now on. Forget Jiffy Lube. read more

Another "YES" vote for LTS Mastertech! I had the dread vibration from the deadly lower ball joints from hell on my GS400 and South Bay Lexus wanted $700+ to replace them. Saw this post and decided to give this "dealer alternative" a try. Let me just say that they've got a customer for life. Not only did they do the job for nearly 1/2 off but they also saw that I was really concerned about the safety of the front end components and decided to also inspect all the other bushings and balanced the front tires just to be sure the shakes would be gone and they are! Drives like a new car...sweet! Armando, Mike and the staff are all friendly, professional and treated me with the utmost respect. They even have shuttle service! Really guys, I don't usually do reviews on shops but I had to express my satisfaction with a great shop that actually cared about me and my car. Thanks again LTS! read more

Mike and his staff always take care of me. I have both a Lexus and my daughter's toyota and Mike is so thorough and truly cares about his customers. He tells us when things are necessary but most of all he doesn't say we need repairs when we really don't need them yet. I trust Mike completely. His experience and knowledge is the very best and his shop and staff are just like him, friendly, knowledgable, helpful, acxomodating, efficient. I recommend you check them out for reliable, service from people who care. read more

Nothing to say but good things for this mechanic shop. Mike was patient and attentive to our car. Amazing customer service! We will definitely be coming back to this shop if we ever encounter any problems with our Prius. Definitely make customers the priority and they DON'T belittle their clients. It is with great pleasure that I write this review. I was looking for a hybrid mechanic in the Pasadena area because i was tired of Pasadena Toyota over charging me for minor repairs. One of the service guys there was nice enough to give me Lex Mastertech business card. Mike the owner is a trainer hybrid mechanic who specializes in Toyota and Lexus. His shop is clean and everyone who works there are friendly, helpful and professional. I commute daily from Lancaster to Los Angeles so it is important that my vehicle stay up to par and road worthy. Mike has been my personal hybrid mechanic for two years now and keeps my vehicle running immaculately. He is also prompt. He keeps his appointment and complete the jobs in a timely fashion. If, you are looking for some to service your Toyota, Lexus or Hybrid in the San Gabriel Valley he is your man. Please say hello for me. The Texas Prius read more

I have taken both my Toyota's (Prius & Tacoma) to Mike since he opened. Before then, I only felt comfortable getting my cars serviced at a Dealer. I was referred to Mike through a friend and with some reluctance decided to give him a try. But after having a great experience, I have never gone back to the Dealer. In all honesty, if I could rate Mike with 6 stars or greater, I wouldn't hesitate. Mike has ALWAYS been honest, dependable, and above all, affordable. Unlike the many dealerships I have frequented over the years, Mike wasn't interested in upselling services that I didn't need. He is a straight-shooter, and seems to want to build his business based on excellent customer service. It's great to know that there are still people out there who put their customers first. That's definitely the case with Mike. After reading the many great reviews here, I was sad to see that someone didn't have as good an experience as most. I suppose we all have different expectations, but in my opinion, Mike has received all of his good reviews because he really is that good. His facilities are clean and inviting, and his location is only about a block away from Starbucks and a couple places to eat. And unlike most of the Toyota dealers I have been to -- which happen to be located in some shady areas of the Valley -- I feel completely comfortable walking around the Pasadena neighborhood where his shop is located. Long story short, if you want a great mechanic, great service, and great prices, definitely give Mike a try and see for yourself. read more

BEWARE!!! Took my 4 runner in for Struts bushing and ball joints. They "QUOTED" me 1,750 that includes Alignment won thanks "BUT" no THANKS!!! Took it to Bear Frame & Wheel in Glendora . I started going to this place years ago when I first moved to Pasadena I can't believe I am just writing about this now. I recommend this place to everyone I know looking to get there car fixed. read more

Mike is the most honest, thorough and helpful auto repair person ever. He and his tech people figure out problems and provide straightforward information about how your car can be repaired and how much it would cost. Lex Mastertech helped me keep an older car on the road for as long as possible. Most recently, Mike assessed the car and we made a round of needed repairs. The car ran like new. Days later, the engine light came back on. I called Mike and he took the car back in. After several days of work, he diagnosed a tricky problem and advised me that the repair was likely not worth doing, given the age of the car. And he did not charge me for the time and effort spent figuring out the problem. Mike really knows his stuff and cares about his customers. I recommend him highly. read more

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Even Nordstrom can't get this many 5-star reviews. Something tells me there's a lot of BS reviewers for this auto shop. I won't argue with Mike knowing his stuff but my experience wasn't all peaches and cream like every reviewer is raving about. Brought in my LS430 and waited 2 hours for a simple oil change. I appreciate the routine inspection as a courtesy but having to wait this long was down right painful. The lounge was small and somewhat claustrophobic for me. The location of LEX Mastertech isn't exactly close to any stores, coffee shops, or even a fast food restaurant. The price is much better than the bigshot dealers but there was definitely a comfort factor that was sacrificed. Don't think I'll be coming back here despite what all these other "heaven-like" reviewers claim of. Peace out! read more

Took one of my Toyotas to Mike, and was very happy with his quotes, as well as his prompt and useful communication, and the work done. I ended up taking my other car too (also a Toyota) to him, and got the same great service. Definitely a great place to get your car repaired. read more

Love this place!! staff is super nice, patient, respectful, and good at what they do! Plus, great coffee machine and bathroom in the office!
