We stopped in for a pre-game bite to eat. The whole wings were big, seasoned well, and surprisingly tender. We were there on a Tuesday night and old school jams and blues bellowed from the speakers up front. We sat at the bar. Drinks were two for one. Spacious and inviting atmosphere. Friendly staff. No cover charge. Far end of beale st. Away from the hussle and bustle. Great find for us.

    That is a tasty burger!

My review is simply for the food. On October 14, just prior to the Pearl Jam concert at FedEx Forum my wife and I dropped into this spacious new bar/restaurant for a quick bite. Located at the very end of the strip, the place was empty when we arrived and we were nervous we had chosen a sinking ship. I ordered a Blue Note burger which was served on toasted white bread. The bread had obviously been buttered and grilled - similar to a Grilled Cheese - which gave it an extra level of fucking awesome and the crinkle cut fries were cooked to perfection. My only negative was the poor beer selection. I had really hoped for a nice Hoppy IPA, but instead settled for a Heineken. Oh well, you can't always get what you want...you get what you need.

Red panties, banana and a blue drink I can't remember the name of. $11 for the largest size.

Wish we could come back on a Friday or Saturday night. The service was outstanding. Our server helped us create the perfect frozen drink.

Run. Don't walk. Is the food good? We don't know. Waited forever for it & had to leave without it. We weren't the only table to do so.

So we walked down Beale St led by a guy in a red zoot suit, red hat, neon glasses and matching tie. He promised us good music and food. Although we were a bit apprehensive we continued to this place, Blew Note Cafe. This woman(Nikki) is singing an Etta James song that sent chills down my spine. The guitarist (Fingers)playing so deeply that BB King himself would have applauded. The stage is small, the room is probably 2000sq ft so you're sitting fairly close. There's a bar as you walk in the door and one on the other side of the room. The kitchen is behind the stage. The menu, though limited, is pretty good. We had honey chicken wings and catfish nuggets. DELICIOUS! The nuggets were done perfectly, lightly coated, not greasy. The wings were succulent, not overly dressed. The drinks were not watered down. Prices were reasonable, the atmosphere was fantastic, people were dancing and grooving with the band. By far one of the best bars I've been to in a while. So if you find yourself being led down Beale St in Memphis by a zoot suit wearing guy, don't be afraid, he's taking you to an excellent experience! You will be very very satisfied

Pretty good wings. They shouldn't bread them before frying tho, makes the sauce kind of weird.

The Blue Note features live music on weekends, but the food is cheaper- and better- than most places on Beale.

I believe the place was empty when we took a seat at the bar but another party of 2 followed shortly behind and sat a little bit further down the bar. I tried something that sounded better than it tasted but ultimately this is a matter of personal preference and I have a high maintenance palate. The people next to us got wings, which looked good until they were dangerously close to a leak that had sprung from one of the exposed pipes above. They had to move to a table behind us and then some of the staff got a bucket to place on the bar to catch the dripping water but that made a very loud noise so then they put a towel inside of the bucket. I will admit that I have never experienced such a thing before. It looked like the pipe that was dripping had tape wrapped over that area so they had tried a "bandaid" fix in the past but it didn't work. Obviously, this does negatively impact the "ambiance" portion of the overall experience and getting the impression that this is an issue that could have been fully addressed previously but the decision was made not to. It wouldn't stop me from going back but it certainly isn't ideal.

I had a fantastic espresso martini and the best brussel sprouts I've ever tasted! So I was excited to come try something else. On the plus side, the bathroom was so nicely decorated. It was also very clean. I sat at the end of the bar, beside the little section of books. The bartender was nice. I ordered the Ember&Passion cocktail. Although it was pretty good, it was quite mild. Unexpected with the ingredients in it. I was surprised that the level of expected heat was not very detectable. I give it 7/10. When I came here before in the winter, the temperature was perfect and I don't remember being too bothered that they don't have cocktail napkins. But yesterday it was quite warm in the restaurant and not having these napkins wasn't good. Nobody in the restaurant had any type of napkin under any drink! I noticed that just like mine, every glass of water from every patron had a puddle of condensation under the glass. Each time I picked up my glass of water, it would drip onto my food and clothes. My two menus got so wet. I suppose they made this decision to save themselves a lot of money. As for the food: My parmesan truffle fries were excellent!! Hot, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the middle. Best I've had in a long time. The Alabama white sauce on the side was just your typical sauce. It tasted just like every other Alabama white sauce that I've had so was not disappointing. But I actually ended up not using it because it was too thin and it didn't add anything to the fries. The fries were excellent enough on their own. I ordered my burger "pink" but there wasn't any pink to it, but I wasn't that bothered about it. Burger and the toppings were tasty, except for the fried green tomato. Looking closely at the picture, you can see that it was SO SMALL compared to the size of the burger. When a restaurant does that, don't they realize that it makes for a glaring disappointment?! It apparently came from near the end of the tomato, and not the middle. If you are going to offer a fried green tomato on a burger, then I feel as if you should only use the larger slices of the tomato, and save the smaller ends for maybe putting in salads. I've always been obsessed with fried green tomatoes. After having my first two bites of burger and still not reaching the tomato, I took it off to eat by itself. Sadly, it tasted terrible! I was surprised. Obviously, they didn't season the tomato or the batter. (Salt and pepper go a long way.) The burger toppings apparently made the tomato batter not only soggy, but also this strange thick texture. Like mushy and chewy at the same time. 1/10 Worst problem: FLIES!!! So many flies! When I just had my drink but no food yet, I noticed them but was not bombarded by them at that point. It wasn't until my food came. All of a sudden I was literally surrounded by them. They were everywhere! No exaggeration. I actually had to use only one hand to eat and the other hand to constantly move back and forth over my food. I eventually gave up and set the plate of some of my fries about 4 inches in front of my burger in order to hopefully draw the flies to the fries so that I could eat my burger. Unfortunately, after only four bites of my burger, when I set it down to take a drink of water, a fly landed on it within one second. Obviously, that was my last bite, and even when I was moving the plate closer to the end of the counter, two more flies landed on it. The glass of straws was inches from me. That, and the book closest to me seemed to be where they gathered to wait for their opportunity to dive bomb me. So many of them! It turned my stomach when I realized that I had been drinking from a straw with my water and I'm sure there had been flies on it before I got there. Every person that gets a straw in their drink at this restaurant has had a fly sitting on top of it. When the bartender told me about the desserts, it turned my stomach to think of just how many flies were in the kitchen. Had I known the fly situation was that bad when I first got my drink, I would have never stayed there, and I certainly would have never ordered food. I do think it is a real shame because the winter months are a totally different experience in that restaurant. But because of how horrible it was this time, I just can't ever come back.

The bar tender greeted us warmly, and told us we could sit anywhere we liked, so we chose a cozy, comfy corner booth. Hubby loved his Sweet Tea, "just right". Food came out fresh, fast and perfectly served. We shared the crispy authentic Calamari over a bed of Arugula with Remoulade, Sweet Asian and Marinara for dipping. When we finished that, we poured the Asian dressing over the plentiful Arugula salad. We shared a Trio of tender, juicy Certified Angus sliders. Wow! One of the Worst Customer Service Experiences I've Had After…read moreattending a Pride event and visiting from out of town, my friend and I stopped by Bar Dogs late at night/early in the morning on June 7th, hoping to grab some food before heading back to our hotel. Unfortunately, we were met with one of the rudest bartenders I've ever encountered. As soon as we sat down at the bar, the bartender--a Caucasian woman with a short haircut whose name I unfortunately didn't get--greeted us with an attitude that immediately made us feel unwelcome. Instead of providing friendly service, she was dismissive, impatient, and rushed us through placing our to-go order. She informed us that we could not eat at the bar, which was completely fine. We agreed without any issue and ordered our food to go. However, when my food arrived, I simply opened the container to make sure my order was correct before leaving. She immediately rushed back over and aggressively said, "Didn't I tell you that you could not eat at the bar?" I hadn't taken a single bite--I was only checking my order. Rather than politely clarifying the policy, she continued to scold us and make us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. We still hadn't even received my friend's food, yet she seemed more interested in lecturing us than providing basic customer service. Once my friend's food finally arrived, we left as quickly as possible. As visitors in town celebrating Pride, we expected a welcoming atmosphere and basic courtesy. Instead, we experienced hostility, impatience, and a complete lack of professionalism. There's a huge difference between enforcing a policy and treating customers with disrespect, and this bartender clearly doesn't understand that distinction. The food may have been fine, but the service was so unpleasant that I would never return or recommend Bar Dogs to anyone looking for a friendly place to eat or have a drink. Customer service training is desperately needed.
