I love this salon and the stylists (Rudi in particular). Rudi has been my stylist for over 20 years and she has an amazing gift for all things hair (and a wonderful personality)! She is very skilled with color and cuts and is able to create the best color and style for me every time. Also, all of the stylists at the salon are very friendly and it is such a nice break/treat to be able to go and enjoy time at this salon. Despite my better judgment, I decided to get another haircut here after a long hiatus. I was running errands in the Ansley area, and it just made sense time management wise to come here. the good: they were able to accommodate me for a same day appointment with little notice. the disappointing: Wendy cut my hair within 20 minutes. it was rushed and uneven. Typically a haircut comes with a wash. After cutting my hair, she was ready to see me out the door. I had to inquire about the wash specifically. The wash was a 2 minute quick rinse. Sadly, I've had better service and attention to detail at Great Clips. I went home and had to fix my own hair with my personal clippers. BTW, you can't leave a tip on your CC. you must tip cash. read more

John Rowell is my man! I've never had an issue getting an appointment because he takes care of his customers. My cut and styles are always on point and exactly what I ask for. I've followed John since he was a student about 8 years ago to now, his natural talent has developed well with the years of experience. He keeps the tools of his trade clean and well organized. My naturally curly hair does not respond well to being straightened but John has the gift and I can easily keep it straight for at least three days when he styles it. After waiting for over almost an hour I was so bummed I walked by Salon 2000 and on a whim decided to ask them if they had space for a last minute cut and balayage. They were so kind and welcoming and fit me in the same day. Mary was AMAZING, she was so personable and made me feel right at home. The color and style was on point and I will be back again! Unfortunately none of the good hairstylists work there anymore. I had a haircut yesterday by someone I didn't know, because people I knew were gone. Also I have bad experiences with women who cut my hair before. So,I had concerns and called back to arrange a different hairstylist. I just can't stand this stereotype thinking; because I am a woman I must have been matched with woman hairstylist?? It is a gay neighborhood god sake! There must be a reason why I walk in a salon where other gay men get their hair cut, isn't there? Also it's my choice as a costumer nobody's business to judge. But hey! I've got bitched out on the phone... Such "miss things"... I was offended by that guy's attitude however I still showed up. Why? Because even I knew that I was going to come to this point giving a well deserved bad review, deep inside I wanted to be wrong! So lady finished cutting my hair within 10mins -the simplest haircut request ever I tell you- she didn't even showed me back of my hair, she didn't blow dry to see how exactly my hair would look when it's dry, nada! Then she OVERCHARGED me for all that hardwork! When I got home I blow dried my hair and saw the front of my hair wasn't right at all!..I had to cut it myself and have to go somewhere else to fix it for good. Because I'm not going back that salon ever again! I live across the street for 11 years now. I was here when they weren't and I'll be here when they will be gone and I won't stop telling everyone I know that how shitty their work and how shitty attitude some of them have! read more

They have recently redecorated and freshened everything up. John Devlin is absolutely wonderful! He really is an artist with hair. When I moved into town, I was in search of a good hair salon. After a year of misses, I found Salon 2000. I have been a customer here for the last six years. When I first started going, I had short hair and Ann did an awesome job. Then I decided to let it grow out and switched to Michael. There are six or seven stylists at this salon and they all share the love, so wasn't uncomfortable about making the change. Which is nice, because where Ann was great with short hair, Michael, in my opinion, is great with long hair. All the stylists are personable, the shop is clean and based on my experience, Ann and Michael keep on schedule. Although I make my appointments in advance, they do accept walk-ins. read more

I've been getting my haircuts at Great Clips and other similar businesses. These places were okay for a standard cut, but I needed a stylist that could work with my coarse hair. It had been 3 months since I had a haircut when a friend referred me to John at Salon 2000. I arrived a few minutes early for us to discuss the issues with my hair and what I wanted. John made recommendations and we agreed on a style before he started cutting. My sides and back were trimmed then John washed my hair to see how the top would lay without product in it. Next, the top was cut with some tweaking on the style to get the ideal shape. We discussed the hair products I could use. John wasn't trying to make a sales pitch which I really appreciated. Next, my head was rinsed to remove the loose hairs and John demonstrated the technique to apply product. This was the best haircut I've had in a long time and I really like my new style. John was very experienced and showed patience. I even made my next appointment with him before I left the salon. read more

I've been going there for a while now.. "Tall John" or John Raul, has been cutting my hair and in addition to doing a great job is always friendly. There have been a few times that I've had to rush in and he wasn't available so somebody else had to cut my hair and I've always been just as happy with the result. I had not pre-booked an appointment and was hoping they would have someone available. Their new stylist, Billy, was available. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Billy asked a few questions up front and I showed him a picture of what I was looking for. We talked about a few different challenges of my hair and how we might be able to make them an asset rather than something to fight with every morning. Billy was kind, professional, and did a great job with my hair. Stephen, the salon manager, was also very helpful and professional. This is a great shop with wonderful service and top notch staff! I have been to Salon 2000 before and Mary did a great job. I needed a haircut and was only in town for one day and Mary was off so Wendy cut my hair. She did a horrible job. She did not wash my hair after I had product in there all day long. She cut my hair and I could barely tell she cut it. I asked her to cut it shorter and it was not any better. I was so frustrated and just wanted to get out of there. The cut was very uneven due to the fact that she did not wash out the product before she starting cutting. The trim job around my ears leaves a lot to be desired and my sideburns were not touched. Needless to say Wendy will never touch my hair again. She clearly did not care about me as a client. read more

After searching for a year for a salon with a stylist who actually listens to the client, I have found John at Salon 2000. I wanted someone willing to be creative and he is. He listened and asked questions. The results are amazing. The cut is edgy but very easy to work with in order to achieve a great look at home. The color is also gorgeous and shiny. It feels great to the touch, not stiff and fried. It compliments my features. Best of all, I get compliments from friends and family. I am REALLY happy and love how friendly everyone who works there is--that is a bonus and a change from salons where the employees seem distracted and treat the customers as inconvenient.
