I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the Levain Bakery sign on our way to the eastern tip of Long Island. After driving for a mile, we decided to make a U-turn to try Levain Bakery cookies for the first time after hearing about the location in Manhattan. They were making freshly baked cookies before our eyes and the place smelled divine! The first time I had these mouthwatering cookies was about two years ago and my husband waited about an hour in a line at their NYC location. They were a birthday treat. Levain cookies are my fave. So yummy. There is usually a line due to covid. And pretty busy most of the days but can't blame them since everyone loves Levain cookies!! Their chocolate chip cookies, walnut with chocolate chip, raisin oatmeal cookies & fudge cookies were all delicious. I love the size. Their hot chocolate was light. I'd seriously be in big trouble if we had one of these in SoCal!! No joke in the photos posted by others...the chocolate oozes in the middle of this thick cookie. It's soooo good! The oatmeal raisin cookie is good but not as good as the chocolate chip walnut. Had the blueberry muffin and chocolate brioche...both were tasty too. Lots of blueberries in the muffin. From the moment we parked in the lot we could smell them being cooked, the service was friendly & taste un-describable perfect combination of hot gooeyness mixed with a crunch. Cookie was extremely decadent...perhaps too much for me. Its about 70% chocolate haha. I also got a loaf of ciabatta bread but it was extremely bland. It did not look like ciabatta...my in laws from germany said "looks like farmers bread, crust is hard like farmers bread, but tastes like nothing." Such a great rendition of a walnut chocolate cup cookie! It's crunchy on the outside and gooey and soft on the inside! And packed with chocolate chips and walnuts. I took off one star because the cookie wasn't nearly as warm as I would've liked and the setup of the store was kind of weird so you didn't know where to wait in line. Each cookie is $4, all taxes included, but it's so worth it! It was my first time here at their Wainscott location, and it was clearly the one store in the plaza that was getting loads of business. I would definitely recommend for a nice stop on a trip to the east end! read more

Definitely worth the stop if you're driving out to the Hamptons or on the way back. The raspberry bomboloni was a soft salted, rasp jam filled powered roll. Blueberry muffin barely sweetened, incredibly airy- just lets the blueberries shine. Best of all the strawberry and buttered jam baguette... deliciously crunchy, sweet, buttery- the real reason I'd have to do a couple miles no matter what. read more

OMG! What an amazing, ooey-gooey cookie. As soon as you walk in your nose is smacked with the smell of baking goods and greeted by a friendly staff. I was interested in the cookies. Its $4 but so rich i had to share. I ordered the walnut chocolate chip cookie. They also had dark chocolate and peanut butter, double dark chocolate and oatmeal raisin. They all looked so good and you could see them bakimg fresh pastries in the back. I must say im not a dessert fan but this cookie had just the right amount of sweetness. Not cavity sweet or underwhelming. It definitely was worth every single dime. If tou have a sweet tooth toi must give this place a try. read more

I just about took a U-Turn on Montauk Highway after I saw the Levain sign! I loved going to the one on the UWS when I lived a few blocks away. I got a walnut chocolate chip, oatmeal, double chocolate chip and chocolate peanut butter cookie wrapped up in a cute little Levain box for my friend who dogsat for me. I got two cookies to share in the car. The first bite brought back buttery, warm memories. The woman behind the counter was very nice and unlike UWS Levain, there was ample parking. On our way to Montauk, I spied the font that makes me so gleeful to trek to the UWS and squealed for my friend to pull over. This Levain is much huger than the Manhattan branch, and wasn't crowded at all in October. The owner says they close for most of fall and winter, so we lucked out. We had the chocolate chip and chocolate chocolate cookies... They were just as luscious as in Manhattan. We also tried the baked grape jelly donut (which I haven't seen in NYC) and it was phenomenal.
