I wish I had read reviews on here before purchasing a last minute activity to do with my parents and kids. It was a complete waste of money -- basically a free walking tour that told us to take a picture at each stop. There was ZERO reason to pay for six tickets -- we could have done exactly the same thing with one ticket, and I'm not sure it was even worth the price of that. There was like one creative challenge that asked for a picture of a furry or feathered animal.... and we uploaded a picture of a fake rhinoceros and it gave us credit. I'm mad at myself for trusting the reviews on the website and not digging further, but hopefully this review will save others from wasting money. read more

Terrible customer service. Please do not waste your money. There are many other more extensive and well thought out scavenger hunt services. The scavenger hunt had a few errors. Things were not where they said they would be, even with an icon on the map leading us to the wrong location. So we didn't finish, no big deal. But I thought - "well, I don't want to pay for this" 30 minutes later the person will not refund my account and tells me the policy doesn't allow any refunds no matter what. I told her what happened and 10 questions later she's telling me she doesn't see the error... Well you need to be on the scavenger hunt and walk around a building expecting to find a statue there for an hour to see the error. I told her it felt like a waste of my time, she cited their policy again. For the record, my partner and I still had fun because we got to be outside and together, but it wasn't because we had a great scavenger hunt it was just nice to be outside. So go for a walk! But don't waste your money on this, it will just make your walk a bit frustrating. read more

Was a good time to do a little activity with a couple friends. My only complaint was that it does not ask you to verify your answer, so if someone accidently presses an answer while holding your phone, you get marked incorrect which sucks. Thank goodness we got a Valentine's Deal or we would have been pretty upset about this. We did Boston's Story of America tour with friends in from MI this past weekend. It said we had to pay for everyone 5 and up but 3 of them just followed along. That felt unfair/unnecessary. And the tour itself said it would take 2.5 hours. It ended up barely taking up around 4 blocks. It didn't even go from The Common to Faneuil Hall, but we did side quests and did our own things. We could have just used my freedom trail book and saved our money. The photo prompts were fun. read more

This was a cool experience! My friend chose this as an outdoor activity to do for her birthday during the pandemic and it all worked out! We did the Santa Monica, CA scavenger hunt which took us from the pier all the way to city hall! This was truly an adventure because starting out we had no idea of what we were going to face. We embraced the extra challenges that were included with our hunt and found ourselves being hyper focused on getting extra points lol. Each challenge allowed us to "get our steps in" since they were spread out which was fine because at each one, we would stop to talk and catch our breath. Overall this was a positive experience, 4 stars given because our speed limit picture wasn't accepted by the app so we couldn't earn our extra points! We had a really terrible experience with Let's Roam. We used them for an office team building event. The planning process was absolutely horrendous. It seemed like a scam from start to finish. Not professional, not communicative, and we would not recommend. Our host day-of, Scotty, was great and he did a good job. That was the only saving grace. The money we paid was not worth the service or final product that we recieved and I would not recommend them. read more

The hunt was fun. Trying to navigate the app was not. It says we only completed 93 percent of the hunt yet we went location by location and reviewed everything. Nothing was left undone. We answered one question where is uffizi within 500 miles yet when we completed it, it says we were supposed to look for some art gallery that started with a B and we were 1453 miles away so we lost those points. We also lost points for creativity. What does that mean? Are we supposed to bring props? There is no where to title pictures, it won't let us have everyone in the group because you can't take selfies, you can't take a picture and upload it so I couldn't set the timer, the upload the picture from my gallery, so someone was always left out. We didn't know how to start it, how to end it, it took us 30 minutes trying to figure out what we didn't do (which we never figured out) and then it gave us a 30 minute warning, do we spent 15 trying to figure out if we had to submit our answers or how we were supposed to end the game. So if time was part of it, we definitely lost that one. Because we wasted more time trying to figure the app out, then we did enjoying the hunt. Maybe we'll figure it out next time...​​ read more

My family and I did the scavenger hunt in Black Mtn NC. We arrived at the first stop with no clear indication of where to park or what to do. We ended up parking in the lot for a local business (a thrift shop) that I did not feel comfortable with since we weren't going in. We found the historical marker across the street and then started the hunt. I found this hunt in particular to be absurd. We basically paid to walk around and read historical markers!!! There was no actual hunt involved and the questions asked were directly related to the 2-3 line markers we found. Ultimately, this was a huge waste of both time and money read more

So many things... Terrible Virtual Event Experience -The games weren't loaded for us, so we were 30 minutes late getting started. This caused the rest of our event to be delayed when we had a schedule. -Clearly no thought went into the games, I specifically asked for holiday games (was confirmed) and there were none until the host let us choose. We are Canadian and one of the topics was broadway. -The host wasn't terrible, but not high energy. One of our staff could have done the same job. Don't use this company! read more

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Not worth the cost and definitely NOT a scavenger hunt. It's just a city tour with a few very basic activities at each stop. Great activity if you're not at all familiar with a city and looking for a tour of a city for A GROUP OF 2ND GRADERS. I organized a large-group corporate team building scavenger hunt, coordinated with the Let's Roam contact and nobody directed me to the more expensive package being essential for a group of professionals that work in the city, not to mention, the more expensive packages were very overpriced and out of our budget. They make you pay way ahead of time and will absolutely NOT reimburse your money, if the event gets cancelled. We were out $700 and never even did the scavenger hunt. I did a test run of the so-called "scavenger hunt" a few days before our team building event, only to find out just how little effort Let's Roam puts into creating the tour. There was NOTHING to hunt. They even give you pictures of the buildings or sculptures you need to find and the "puzzles" at each stop have the answers in the clues. No challenge whatsoever! Luckily, I was able to plan a new event with another company for our group with short notice. I have done city scavenger hunts in several cities in the past that created a lot of challenges for adults with puzzles and clues and really got the team members thinking and working together to solve clues and guess at locations. Save your money. Signed up for let's roam scavenger hunt in Monterey. The app did not download and couldn't get ahold of anybody. We tried for over a hour. No success. Then they would not refund my money afterwards. Bad experience. And they still send me advertisements texts in the early mornings and late at night. Horrible!!!! read more

The good: we chose Charlotte to do our let's roam hunt. It gives you destinations to go to that you may not have thought to go to before. It got us moving. We tried to do the challenges. We had laughs and fun. You can do this on your own without interacting with anyone at the sites they send you to (a double edge sword, I feel it would be more fun if you could get a clue from a bartender or waitress or desk person to help you win) The bad: we'd get to a location and the challenge questions were not included in the site. They'd ask things there was no apparent way to know the answer to. One location was not accurate but we kept looking and found the building by the picture that was shown. Felt like something was missing with the storyline/questions. Overall I would try something similar again but not sure if I'd try this app again. It was confusing to get everyone on the app, in the group, and started. App crashed a few times for one player. read more

I was so excited when I found this activity for my 60th birthday with friends in Key West. There were a series of miscommunications before we even got started but those were ultimately resolved. Unfortunately of 2 of our group of 6 got the flu while traveling and we were unable to take advantage of this activity. Let's roam refused to refund the $275 I paid even though we did not execute the scavenger hunt, I will not use them again. I felt strong armed in the beginning and now without a refund I can't trust this organization. read more

I was very disappointed. I was putting together a team-building experience for 80 Tenth Graders. The communication before the event was horrible. They were always too busy to talk to me. I bought the custom VIP package but didn't get what I expected. I asked to alter some of the language so the students were walking in the Park as opposed to on the street, and I never got a response. The app kept on kicking us off and didn't make any sense when putting the teams in 1st, 2nd, 3rd,etc. place. There was no explanation or logic to what the leader board was listing. The students were frustrated. Also, when I asked for the route ahead of time and what the challenges would be, they were vague, and I only got screenshots without any idea of what the students were going to be doing. There have been several parts of the hunt that didn't apply like the fish market was closed, the great wheel is fenced off and closed and the fountain is gone! The entire experience seems like a scam. They are very responsive when you are trying to reserve a custom hunt experience, but that responsive communication ends after I paid. I had a terrible experience with this company in planning a custom hunt for a bachelorette party weekend in San Diego. Here is a summary of my negative experience and reasons why you should not bother with this company at all: 1) When trying to finalize the customizations included with the hunt package I reserved, the communication was at best inconsistent and at worst no response at all. 2) I never received the instructions on how to access my custom hunt on the day of the event. 3) When I called the live support phone number for help, I was on hold for 30 minutes a couple of times to speak to someone to help me get details for my hunt and never got through. There was an option they offer for call back so you don't have to wait on hold, but nobody ever called me back. 4) When I tried to chat with someone through the online message/chat feature, the reps were never able to help me start my hunt on their app and went in circles in asking me the same reservation confirmation info and pushed off my issues as an IT ticket, and the chat feature keeps timing out, so I never received the help that I needed to start my custom hunt. 5) I spent 4 hours trying to communicate with their reps in all channels I can to no success and finally gave up without ever starting the custom hunt. This whole process feels like a scam. I'll be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on this very negative and scam-lime experience. Stay away from this company! read more
