One of my worst experiences with a contractor. Horrible communication, poor quality work and no ownership. I was constantly having to call and text to see when her crew was coming. We hired Leticia to pour a large stamped patio. When completed the Far East half of the stamping was barely there due to the concrete setting up. When she saw the job she knew it was done poorly but refused to correct it. She did offer to saw cut the area which would not look correct or tie in with the other section. When I requested that she complete the job per our contract she refused and later I received a notice of a lien from star concrete because she never paid her contractor. Because of this I had to pay them 2368Since I have filed a claim with the state contracts board. Currently under investigation. Now we have to get the concrete removed and repoured to look right. Just finished the installation of an exposed aggregate (I THINK that's the name) patio in my front yard to replace a lawn I had let die, and a fence surrounding it. Let's Concrete did a great job and I am excited to use this new extension of my yard, as the backyard is small. She worked with me on design and supervised the men working every day. We had some last minute changes to the fence because it was too close to a pipe, but they made it work. I upgraded the stones I wanted for the patio and she only added the additional cost of the material. The price was very fair. She came right out for the initial bid - no waiting. The quality of the work was fine. Unfortunately, the price went up 25-30% because "we have to pour extra concrete in the sidewalk in front of the driveway." I still don't understand why that was not included in the quote - they knew they were fixing a sidewalk in front of a driveway. Now we have been billed $100 by the city for the permit. We were not told that we would have to pay the permit and most contractors we have used include permit fees in the quote. I do not recommend. read more

We had our courtyard and driveway redone. In the courtyard a drain was installed, however there is no slope so the water puddles in front of my step instead. In the transition to the driveway it cracked within one month of installation. I talked to Leticia and she claimed it was just a surface crack -- it isn't, it goes clear across the walkway and is slowly getting bigger. I would not use Let's Concrete again. read more

What can I say. I had three bids for pouring cement in 4 backyards. Involved demolition work along with encroaching on neighboring homes. Called to make an appointment as I needed about 500 sq ft (8 yards) of concrete poured along with 2" baserock compacted, rebar, 18" on center, marble stamp, some color. Leticia came out with a measuring wheel took down measurements. She was friendly enough, took down my contact details, email, phone number. Ugly tree + Evil roots breaking the sidewalk = lawsuit! We were planning to remove the tree and have the sidewalk repaired. Contacted Let's Concrete for a quote only. The next step would have been to get to the tree removal permit and deal with the arborists who undoubtedly would want to spare the ugly tree. Learned from Let's Concrete that they could remove those evil roots and place a barrier preventing them from coming back. Had a very disappointing experience with Leticia and Let's Concrete. My summer project consisted of a simple 50 foot long concrete planter box. In the beginning, we both agreed that the shade of grey would be the same as my sidewalk, which was just repaired by the city. Three months after completion of the new planter box and letting the concrete cure and dry out, the shade of grey was nowhere near the shade we agreed upon. It came out much darker than the sidewalk. Something obviously went wrong with the concrete mix. Any follow-up discussions with Leticia were not very productive with her repeating "I didn't put any color in the concrete mix". What I would have liked from her was acknowledgment of the problem and an attempt to figure out why the shade was what it was. Instead, she was more concerned with trying to free herself from any liability rather than honoring what we agreed upon or my satisfaction as a customer. She told me she used Star Concrete, which I later looked up as being a very unfavorably reviewed business according to Yelp. A common theme among complaints was the low-quality concrete mix due to contaminants. If I had known Star Concrete was Let's Concrete's source, I would never have chosen them. My payment was to Let's Concrete. so I wish Leticia took responsibility for her selection of concrete vendors rather than deflect the blame to them, which was not helpful at all. If you are looking for any worthwhile level of professionalism and a company with at least a decent level of customer service practices, I highly suggest you look elsewhere. read more

TL; DR : Quality of work : 4/5. Pricing : 4/5. The rest is more of a 2-maybe-3/5. I contacted Leticia for installing pavers for an area for less than 200 sqft. Pricing wise they're very competitive. Knowledge wise they're good. Overall, I like the end product, BUT not so much as to how we got there. They really need to improve on scheduling / communication and overall professionalism, because the lack of these cost you, the home owner, time. I'll present 3 cases. (1) They planned to start demolishing the existing flooring on, say, a Friday. I get a call / voicemail on Thursday morning stating the guys are here. I call back -- no response. When we return back on Thu evening -- the entire area had been demolished. Reason given - they were planning on working on another project and it happened to rain in that other place, so they planned to do work on my house a day earlier w/o asking my if its OK. I had a couple of big pots w/ palm plants ; outdoor rug ; buddha statue. The statue ended up on my AC unit and the rest were placed in the common passage between my place and my neighbors place (I live in a townhome complex). Leaving personal property on a common area are a big NO. There was a stone I used as a stand for the Buddha statue - no idea where it is. In any case, I had to call them to put the pots and Buddha inside my garage (because that's what I planned on doing as prep work). (2) After the paver installation was done, they had to put ceramic sand and fill the gaps. Leticia told me they were going to do it the same day, and they didn't. Reason -- they had to go work on another place. Was I notified ? No. I had to call since I noticed gaps between the stones. They were planning to come the next day and do it, which they didn't. Was I notified that they wouldn't show up the next day ? No. I had to call them again, and schedule it for the following day and Leticia said she was booked for the entire day. At this point, I'm getting a little restless since I have plants stashed in my garage w/o sunlight for more than a week now. I express my dissatisfaction and she immediately schedules it first thing the following day. Weird, given she just had said she was booked for the entire day !! (3) Cleaning up after themselves after cutting the paver stone tiles etc were not done properly. I had to again call them and ask them to come back. They came and cleaned it up but not entirely. There was debris left on some plant leaves that I had to clean up myself. Overall, they seem to optimize on scheduling and I get a sense that the net savings you gain in hiring them is spent otherwise trying to follow up and get them to show up. In summary, would I re-hire them to do a project ? -- *YES* if I have a lot of time at hand, willing to follow up a lot, and I'd like to save a few hundred dollars. *NO* if I'm juggling with a full family and/or I'm trying to get a project within a given time w/ minimal supervision on my part. read more

I had it narrowed down to two, and, based on the reviews posted for Let's Concrete, I gave Leticia a call. She came over to my house the next day to look over the work I wanted done. The following day, she emailed me with her quote, and I decided to have Let's Concrete do the job. A week later, they showed up as scheduled to break up and remove the old concrete in my parking strip, adjacent sidewalk, and a walkway on the side of our lawn. The next day they came back early, finished the forming and rebar installation, and poured about 6 yards of concrete. This family is a great work team! They are experienced in what they do, and they all work together to make it happen in an efficient manner. After contacting so many companies for a small concrete pad & walkway project, Leticia was the only one that show any interest and was willing to come out and see where the work would be. We received a competitive quote on the same day. Since we live in a complex, we had to wait until the HOA approved the bid which took over a month.
