Leticia at Let's Concrete saved the day when I got a letter from the city of San Jose demanding concrete repairs in front of my house. She and the crew were polite and prompt. They started work right away and even interfaced with the city inspector to ensure everything was done correctly. The entire project went smooth and easy -- exactly what I was looking to find in a concrete contractor. I had an excellent experience with Let's Concrete, and I have already recommended them to a couple of friends. read more

I would strongly caution others before hiring Let's Concrete. Our contract specifically required our swimming pool walls to be cut down 18 inches, and we later discovered that this work had not been completed as agreed. Unfortunately, we didn't discover the problem until the next phase of our backyard project was underway. At that point, it caused delays and additional expenses to correct work we had already paid Let's Concrete to perform. We immediately attempted to contact them and made seven calls over two days to give them the opportunity to address the issue, but we were unable to get it resolved and could not continue delaying our project. This experience has been extremely frustrating. My advice is to thoroughly inspect and verify that every part of your contracted scope has actually been completed before making final payment. read more

One of my worst experiences with a contractor. Horrible communication, poor quality work and no ownership. I was constantly having to call and text to see when her crew was coming. We hired Leticia to pour a large stamped patio. When completed the Far East half of the stamping was barely there due to the concrete setting up. When she saw the job she knew it was done poorly but refused to correct it. She did offer to saw cut the area which would not look correct or tie in with the other section. When I requested that she complete the job per our contract she refused and later I received a notice of a lien from star concrete because she never paid her contractor. Because of this I had to pay them 2368Since I have filed a claim with the state contracts board. Currently under investigation. Now we have to get the concrete removed and repoured to look right. A simple job that just wasn't managed well and held no accountability. Very disappointed considering the history of this company and the reviews I saw before hiring her. Be very careful. read more

Leticia and her crew did my project in one day. They repoured the sidewalk concrete, after finding the tree roots and removing them, did grinding at 3 spots. They showed up on time, acted professional, did a good job of locating those culprit roots and being careful with the pipes down there. They came back in the PM to smooth the new concrete surface, then swept the dirt away the next day. I am very glad for their work, and would recommend their service. read more

Just finished the installation of an exposed aggregate (I THINK that's the name) patio in my front yard to replace a lawn I had let die, and a fence surrounding it. Let's Concrete did a great job and I am excited to use this new extension of my yard, as the backyard is small. She worked with me on design and supervised the men working every day. We had some last minute changes to the fence because it was too close to a pipe, but they made it work. I upgraded the stones I wanted for the patio and she only added the additional cost of the material. The price was very fair. She came right out for the initial bid - no waiting. I recommend this long-standing, local company. read more

After more than a decade, we're in a different house and we used Let's Concrete again for the sidewalk repair requested by the city. We initially authorized the city to do the work, but half a year later nothing happened, and I got tired of looking at the crumbled sidewalk. Let's Concrete got it done in less than a week. Thanks Leticia!!! read more

We had our courtyard and driveway redone. In the courtyard a drain was installed, however there is no slope so the water puddles in front of my step instead. In the transition to the driveway it cracked within one month of installation. I talked to Leticia and she claimed it was just a surface crack -- it isn't, it goes clear across the walkway and is slowly getting bigger. I would not use Let's Concrete again. read more

The quality of the work was fine. Unfortunately, the price went up 25-30% because "we have to pour extra concrete in the sidewalk in front of the driveway." I still don't understand why that was not included in the quote - they knew they were fixing a sidewalk in front of a driveway. Now we have been billed $100 by the city for the permit. We were not told that we would have to pay the permit and most contractors we have used include permit fees in the quote. I do not recommend. read more

Got a notice from the city to repair gutters and sidewalk. Found Leticia on Yelp, she gave me the best quote amongst five people , started the work in a day and completed quickly. She took care of all the logistics of asking people to move parked cars, city inspection , relocating irrigation lines. Overall very happy with the work and would highly recommend. read more

What can I say. I had three bids for pouring cement in 4 backyards. Involved demolition work along with encroaching on neighboring homes. They arrived on time, worked diligently, everything worked out great. Could not ask for a better experiance. I will use them again. Although they were not the cheapest (marginally higher bid) the explanation given by Leticia of the work to be done and the method by which everything will happen convinced me they were miles better than other companies. This was such a quick and easy experience. Leticia was great and helped me via phone and I also sent over an email to confirm everything. They were able to come and fix a city sidewalk fix in a matter of about a week or two overall! AWSOME experience started with Leticia Who project managed our project all the way through. I have absolutely no complaints and couldn't have imagined a smoother more perfect experience, really. Contacted then for a SJ sidewalk repair(yes the dreaded bill arrived) and within 2 days of contacting them the Lets Concrete team scheduled a date to start work. Loved everything about Leticia and team. Thorough professional and very detailed work. My project was big more than 2000 sqft backyard concrete around inground swimming pool. I was very worried before i started, shopped around and glad i went with 'Let's concrete'. The final touches are still in progress, but i am loving my backyard the way it came up. I would definitely recommend 'let's concrete' for anyone looking for a fair price and professional work. Thank you Leticia and team. read more

Working with Leticia and Let's Concrete was a great experience. After lots of frustration with about 5 other local concrete contractors who came in at insanely high prices or wouldn't even call me back, it was a relief to work with Leticia who communicated quickly and clearly. She came in at an extremely competitive price for the 400 square foot foundation I needed poured for my new garage. Her crew began work quickly once the agreement was signed. Her crew worked tirelessly to get the foundation done quickly. Leticia scheduled the inspection with the City of SJ and the work was signed off easily. Thank you for making this experience so easy for me! read more

Called to make an appointment as I needed about 500 sq ft (8 yards) of concrete poured along with 2" baserock compacted, rebar, 18" on center, marble stamp, some color. Leticia came out with a measuring wheel took down measurements. She was friendly enough, took down my contact details, email, phone number. Never heard back from her, called her left a voice message that I had not received a quote, heard nothing back. Very poor customer service, I will select another concrete contractor that follows through with an invoice. 1 star read more

I needed some substantial sidewalk work near my house. I called and left a voicemail. After several days, I got a call back from Leticia, and we set up an appointment to go through the area in question. I made a special trip from work to be there and they were a no-show. Worked with Leticia and her crew from Let's Concrete Contractor crew to get my home backyard concrete pour in work. It was a fantastic, peace of mind and fabulous experience, overall. Leticia picked up my call on Monday, came to my surprised an hour later, did the measurements and gave me a competitive price for 400 SQFT of my backyard which requires hauling away dirt, dug out to 6 inch to get compressed base rock with iron mesh poured concrete to get a solid foundation of cement floor work. As promised over the phone after sign-off of proposal and half of work advanced payment, Leticia moved around to get the work started by Thursday morning and by Friday early evening hours, job was all well done. Her crew was simply god send people with great professional, work ethics and they cleaned up the complete space, front and back of my house post job done. They will come back in couple of days to remove the cement support and at that time Leticia would do another small job in front of my house to optimize my landscape. She's indeed highly experienced and I was impressed to see her dad (86 yrs) who founded this company 50 years ago still working for those 2 days on this project with a simple smile. I strongly recommend Let's Concrete for all your cement concrete needs. They are too good to be TRUE! read more

Jessie called me after finishing a job to thank me for giving him and Ruben (Leticia's brother) the opportunity to do work on a fence and gate (Jessie also does fencing/carpentry). You can see this is truly a family business that enjoys and appreciates the work that comes their way. They are also great to interact with (especially Ruben!). Leticia and crew did my driveway as well, which came out great and was reasonably priced. Ruben added some extra dividers to make our plain concrete driveway a little more visually interesting and to prevent it from cracking in the future. Looks great! read more

Ugly tree + Evil roots breaking the sidewalk = lawsuit! We were planning to remove the tree and have the sidewalk repaired. Contacted Let's Concrete for a quote only. The next step would have been to get to the tree removal permit and deal with the arborists who undoubtedly would want to spare the ugly tree. Learned from Let's Concrete that they could remove those evil roots and place a barrier preventing them from coming back. Let's Concrete We had Let's Concrete tear up our cracked driveway and add a concrete walkway and a concrete pad to our newly remodeled home. When we got their quote I was pleasantly surprised. They were so helpful in giving us suggestions and information on the materials we were going to include. They were unable to make it the day we had scheduled for them to start and we received a call from them a couple of days prior informing us of the delay. The completed the job in a day and a half, and even worked on Saturday and Sunday because of the one day delay. They were so professional and accommodating throughout the entire process. Had a very disappointing experience with Leticia and Let's Concrete. My summer project consisted of a simple 50 foot long concrete planter box. In the beginning, we both agreed that the shade of grey would be the same as my sidewalk, which was just repaired by the city. Three months after completion of the new planter box and letting the concrete cure and dry out, the shade of grey was nowhere near the shade we agreed upon. It came out much darker than the sidewalk. Something obviously went wrong with the concrete mix. Any follow-up discussions with Leticia were not very productive with her repeating "I didn't put any color in the concrete mix". What I would have liked from her was acknowledgment of the problem and an attempt to figure out why the shade was what it was. Instead, she was more concerned with trying to free herself from any liability rather than honoring what we agreed upon or my satisfaction as a customer. She told me she used Star Concrete, which I later looked up as being a very unfavorably reviewed business according to Yelp. A common theme among complaints was the low-quality concrete mix due to contaminants. If I had known Star Concrete was Let's Concrete's source, I would never have chosen them. My payment was to Let's Concrete. so I wish Leticia took responsibility for her selection of concrete vendors rather than deflect the blame to them, which was not helpful at all. If you are looking for any worthwhile level of professionalism and a company with at least a decent level of customer service practices, I highly suggest you look elsewhere. read more

TL; DR : Quality of work : 4/5. Pricing : 4/5. The rest is more of a 2-maybe-3/5. I contacted Leticia for installing pavers for an area for less than 200 sqft. Pricing wise they're very competitive. Knowledge wise they're good. Overall, I like the end product, BUT not so much as to how we got there. They really need to improve on scheduling / communication and overall professionalism, because the lack of these cost you, the home owner, time. I'll present 3 cases. (1) They planned to start demolishing the existing flooring on, say, a Friday. I get a call / voicemail on Thursday morning stating the guys are here. I call back -- no response. When we return back on Thu evening -- the entire area had been demolished. Reason given - they were planning on working on another project and it happened to rain in that other place, so they planned to do work on my house a day earlier w/o asking my if its OK. I had a couple of big pots w/ palm plants ; outdoor rug ; buddha statue. The statue ended up on my AC unit and the rest were placed in the common passage between my place and my neighbors place (I live in a townhome complex). Leaving personal property on a common area are a big NO. There was a stone I used as a stand for the Buddha statue - no idea where it is. In any case, I had to call them to put the pots and Buddha inside my garage (because that's what I planned on doing as prep work). (2) After the paver installation was done, they had to put ceramic sand and fill the gaps. Leticia told me they were going to do it the same day, and they didn't. Reason -- they had to go work on another place. Was I notified ? No. I had to call since I noticed gaps between the stones. They were planning to come the next day and do it, which they didn't. Was I notified that they wouldn't show up the next day ? No. I had to call them again, and schedule it for the following day and Leticia said she was booked for the entire day. At this point, I'm getting a little restless since I have plants stashed in my garage w/o sunlight for more than a week now. I express my dissatisfaction and she immediately schedules it first thing the following day. Weird, given she just had said she was booked for the entire day !! (3) Cleaning up after themselves after cutting the paver stone tiles etc were not done properly. I had to again call them and ask them to come back. They came and cleaned it up but not entirely. There was debris left on some plant leaves that I had to clean up myself. Overall, they seem to optimize on scheduling and I get a sense that the net savings you gain in hiring them is spent otherwise trying to follow up and get them to show up. In summary, would I re-hire them to do a project ? -- *YES* if I have a lot of time at hand, willing to follow up a lot, and I'd like to save a few hundred dollars. *NO* if I'm juggling with a full family and/or I'm trying to get a project within a given time w/ minimal supervision on my part. read more

I didn't get a chance to find out about there quality of work because they never sent me a quote. It took them a few days to call me back after my initial call, then a week to come out and measure my project (about 500 SqFt). They said they would have a quote back to me that night. So after a few days and no quote I called and left message. A week later I called again and left a message. No one ever called back.So that's it for me. I called the second time to give them a chance, just incase they lost my information. No sure what's going on with these guys? read more

When I was looking for a contractor to do some concrete work at our house, I started by reading the reviews on YELP. I had it narrowed down to two, and, based on the reviews posted for Let's Concrete, I gave Leticia a call. She came over to my house the next day to look over the work I wanted done. The following day, she emailed me with her quote, and I decided to have Let's Concrete do the job. A week later, they showed up as scheduled to break up and remove the old concrete in my parking strip, adjacent sidewalk, and a walkway on the side of our lawn. The next day they came back early, finished the forming and rebar installation, and poured about 6 yards of concrete. This family is a great work team! They are experienced in what they do, and they all work together to make it happen in an efficient manner. I am glad that I chose Let's Concrete, and I will be more than happy to recommend them to anyone who should ask. read more

We knew the day would eventually come when we'd just have to do it. But even so, when it came, it was a shock. I'm talking about that notice from the City of San Jose that informed us that it was our turn to be good taxpayers and replace parts of the sidewalk in front of our house. And oh btw do the driveway approach and gutter adjacent to the street, too. 60 days or they'll do it for us at city rates. We needed a specialist since this was obviously going to cost more than merely grinding, and involve an additional inspection between pours. We got a number of quotes and offers to quote, but none from either a licensed contractor or someone we were confident knew how to meet the requirements for the street-side pour. That was until we met Jessie. He gave us a very fair quote, and was straightforward about having other jobs going at the same time, which we think actually helped the price and schedule. On time, on budget, and to city code. Appreciate Jessie's availability and communication. Plus the work looks terrific. I believed him when he said that he did it like he would at his own home, so I hope you have a similar positive experience. read more
