Hugo explained the whole process before beginning work which was great . Dealing with a company as professional as HT made the process easy . I gave them a key to have access to my parking lot to sealcoat the area, and the work was very clean and carefully performed. The parking area has white walls on each side and concrete planters, but they covered the areas as needed to avoid getting black sealcoat on them. I plan to use Hugo HT Paving in the future and highly recommend his company for anyone that wants the job to be done well with no hassle .

They then used a similar technique in the back yard. They removed all of the "lawn" and replaced it with flowering plants that - particularly now that they've grown in - look beautiful. The whole process took many months, as we designed and planted each yard in turn. But whenever a major activity took place - like tearing up the lawn and replacing everything - they brought in a big crew and typically got the work done in a week or two. They also replaced all of our sprinklers with drip system that reduced our water bill significantly. For this kind of major rework, they are great to work with and do the design and implementation at a very reasonable price. The last couple of months, they have been maintaining what they put in, fixing things that didn't quite work out, and really making the outside of house look the best it ever has in the 34 years we've owned it. With things as they stand, I cannot recommend them. They are irresponsible. They need cash waved in front of them before they'll move. In May 2017, my husband and I originally rated them five stars. Their error -- they installed RUSTING clavoses (clavos plural), forty-eight of them, on two high-end wooden gates. The rust is ruining the gates by bleeding into the wood. We called the beginning of November 2017 informing them of this (with in-between reminders) -- they keep avoiding us -- we are persona non grata -- flotsam and jetsam -- rubbish. In order to be a decent company, they need to remove the 48 old rusting clavoses, install rust-free ones, then bleach the wood to remove the stains. The situation gets worse with time. We paid them several thousand dollars for "excellent" gates. Now the gates are merely "eh" -- nowhere near worth the money we spent. We are not happy campers. We were thinking of hiring them to do our backyard but not now.

The only minor issue was lack of scheduling feedback, but in the end it all worked out and we are very satisfied. Before…read morehiring any contractor, I highly recommend that you check the Contractors State License Board website (cslb.ca.gov) to make sure the contractor is Licensed, Bonded, and carries Workers Compensation Insurance. As a C-8 Concrete Contractor, STEHR CONCRETE checks all of these boxes. I selected 5 contractors from the CSLB to bid on my backyard new concrete patio project. 2 contractors never called me back. 1 contractors bid was way out of line. STEHR Concrete and another contractors bid was almost identical. The difference, Andy Stehr spent more time with me explaining the complete process including how to color the new concrete. He made a color sample for me in my backyard. The color process is not like painting the concrete. It takes a skilled concrete finisher, like Andy and his crew, to get the color right.
