This place was crazy busy when we got in line but the staff moved quickly and eventually it was our turn to order. I ordered the literal first thing I saw on the counter and that was the Sparkling Yuzu Lemonade. Now, I've had a whole lot of lemonade since moving to LA and this just might be some of the best I've had. The taste was fantastic, my thirst was quenched, and I left definitely knowing this is a place I'll be returning too in the future. Overall, this place gets all ten fingers up instead of just two thumbs. The drink was delicious and the crew was super quick, what more could I ask for?

When we approached the door immediately afterward, the reception was completely different. The smiles disappeared, and we were essentially shooed away and told we could not order. What made the interaction particularly uncomfortable was the obvious difference in how the two groups were treated within moments of each other. From what I could observe, the most noticeable difference between our group and theirs was the color of our skin. I can't say what motivated the staff's behavior, but the disparity in treatment was significant enough that it left us wondering whether race played a role. If the store was closed and no longer accepting orders, that policy should have been applied equally to everyone. Allowing one group to order while turning another away moments later is difficult to understand and left us feeling unwelcome. At minimum, I think the staff at this location would benefit from additional training on consistent and equitable treatment of customers.

After waiting for about 5 to 8 minutes, my drink came out, and it was really delicious. It wasn't too sweet and was very refreshing. (I actually try to avoid drinking sugary drinks because of my teeth. Ever since spending a fortune at the dentist a few years ago, I've been taking extra care of my teeth. So I usually don't drink sweet beverages, but this one didn't bother my teeth at all, which made it even better.) The only downside is that this location doesn't have any tables or seating space. Still, the drink was so delicious and refreshing that I finished it in a flash, and the staff who took my order was so friendly, which was great.
