I needed to add lighting in my dining room. I have been in this house for three years, the ceiling…read morein the dining room didn't have a light fixture. We had two lamps, but I didn't like it because you have to walk over to the lamps in the corner to turn them on in the darkness! An electrician installed a ceiling connection and wired it to a wall switch by the room entrance. I browsed the Lamps Plus website and went to the Pasadena location to see their products in person. So glad I did, I got a good look and selected the perfect ceiling fixture for my home. The sales personnel were very helpful and made recommendations, which made it easier to narrow my choices down to the final three. They have "fancy" chandeliers, LED lighting, wall scones, floor lamps, interior and exterior lighting options. I learned so much about the different styles such as a flush mount, a hanging swag light, and features such as a dimmer with different light tones from high to low. I chose a Mission Tiffany Pendant light (sounds like a necklace, lol). As I write this review, I am in the dining room with the light above me! All I have to do is flip the switch and the room glows. It's the perfect addition to my home. I recommend browsing on their website or coming in person to see first-hand what your options are. Sincerely, Rosemary

No place I called could give me a straight answer, but one of them recommended I reach out to Modern Lighting. They actually trialled my question on a lamp they had in house, so that I didn't have to drive to them until there was reasonable certainty they could do what I needed. They quoted me a price, and I went in the next day. Not only did they get the job done, it ended up costing less than their estimate. Very grateful to Jeff and the rest of the team that, in this day where there are few specialty experts anymore, they still exist and were super nice to boot!

They have a "designer" in house which the front desk gave us an appointment to go in. Upon arrival, we sat at the desk letting the designer know what we wanted. He did such great work we didn't talk to him again for... like 9 years lol. I recently contacted him again to do an electrical inspection after the home inspector found a couple of small issues in a home we purchased, and we wanted to make sure there weren't bigger hidden ones. He took a look, reassured us it wasn't anything major, and said the halogen lights across the whole house were overloading the breaker. We are in the process of having him switch all lighting in the house + install exterior lighting and have no worries nor regrets. Wound up having East West switch all like 150 lights in the house, install exterior lighting, change switches to Lutrons, install outlets for hidden wiring and home network setup, so much work and everything was done amazingly. I know it's gonna get done right. Nshan is truly the most professional contractor I've ever worked with and is such a friendly and warm person. East West is the only company I've ever been like, we HAVE to find them again if we need more work, they are just that pleasant to work with. Always on time and very communicative. Can't recommend enough.

Jesse was accommodating as well on another visit. If you want to avoid a long wait before being shown around, I recommend booking an appointment in advance. The store has an extensive inventory, although the showroom isn't large enough to display a significant portion of it. It appears to cater primarily to a higher-end clientele, with many visitors being interior designers rather than homeowners. As expected, prices tend to be on the higher side. If you know the manufacturer's stock number, you may be able to find some of the same items through online retailers such as Wayfair. However, for large purchases like bathtubs, it's worth considering the delivery experience. Ordering elsewhere may carry a greater risk of delays, logistics issues, or the absence of white-glove delivery services.
