The electric in my kid's bathroom was acting funky. I figured I needed to call an electrician or an exorcist. I got various quotes for a long list of items that needed to be repaired or added to a new home I recently purchased. Not only was Sparkmasters very competitive in their pricing, they also provided reassurance in their dedication to providing top tier service which supported all of the great reviews online. Personally, I tend to meet the vendors, or at a minimum chat with them, before hiring them for any matter to get a vibe of who they are and how they manage projects. I emailed him on a Saturday night and he immediately responded with an estimate and explained the work that had to be done. The very next day I made an appointment with Peter in the morning and he was able to come later that afternoon on a Sunday. He was on-time and very friendly. After a home inspector revealed that our home had knob and tube wiring, we set out to find an electrician who could do a rewire. Understandably, we had to wait a couple months before a job of this size could begin, but it was entirely worth it. We have a small child and also lived & worked in the home during the majority of the project. Given this, Spark Masters made sure to thoroughly clean up their work area each day. They worked with us around nap schedules, daycare issues, and other life challenges which we are so thankful for. Even power interruptions were kept to a minimum as to limit the impact on our remote work schedules! Since the rewire involved making lots of cuts in our walls (which they did a great job keeping small and straightforward for the patcher to handle later), we took the opportunity to hire a low voltage contractor to do a home networking project. Spark Masters made it very easy for everyone to work together such that both jobs got done at the same time without issue. We really appreciated how communicative Spark Masters were throughout. We had no idea how big a scope our EV charger project was going to be. We wanted to install the charger inside our detached garage about 50 ft away from the main panel. After speaking with several electricians, I realized it was not a small job, and it would cost several times more than we had first guessed. Problem was, all the electricians I spoke with had different opinions on what material to use, what needed to be done with very different prices. I ended up getting quoted by almost 10 electricians, from big box ones to smaller companies, all had great reviews. That alone took a lot of work but it was worth the effort because I found myself a trustworthy electrician. I hope that also lends some credence to my review as I did plenty of research and careful comparisons. First, Spark Masters is priced competitively. They'll give you separate pricing for material and labor. They'll frequently update you the current market price for each material used (pipes, wire etc) to let you know that everything is priced clearly and fairly. They're willing to listen and work with your plans. Some other electricians weren't really willing to work with my proposal because some wanted to add extra stuff to ensure an easy inspection while having the opportunity to make more money. Others tried to convince me to settle for a more conservative setup that wasn't really meeting my expectations. Spark Masters was the only one experienced and honest enough to know my proposal would pass inspection without having to upgrade anything that wasn't necessary. Finally, they're very friendly and easy to work with. Peter, the contractor, and rest of the crew are really courteous and knowledgeable. He doesn't come off as greasy or predatory like some others I spoke with. They did a bunch of extra stuff for me when I asked. They cleaned up thoroughly before leaving at the end of the day. They were also very accommodating to our schedule which I was really grateful for. Overall, I'm really glad Spark Masters made a seemingly daunting project as smooth and easy as it was. It's an amazing feeling seeing the devices come up and running for the first time after all the work that was put into it. It was quite the magical experience. I was happy with the end-product and price. The inspection passed the first time without issue. And I felt like I made a good friend. My family lives in Altadena in a home that was built in 1939 with original old knob and tube wiring. I always felt like those old electrical wires were dangerous and really wanted to do a complete electrical upgrade project for some peace of mind and to keep my family safe. I reached out to three different companies on Yelp for quotes and Spark Masters came out the lowest. Not only that, but the owner Peter came across as so very friendly, kind and patient. The two other contractors tried to hurry through everything, and I felt like they didn't really care and I was just another job for them. I'm so extremely happy with made to choice to go with Peter and Spark Masters. Throughout the entire job Peter has gone way above and beyond what I expected. He is extremely detailed oriented. With a few other projects we've done in the past I felt like I had to constantly stay on top of the contractors because otherwise their work is sloppy. But not with Spark Masters, Peter really truly cares about his work and he's patient and thoughtful about everything he does. We have a two year old running around the house, and in order to keep him safe throughout the project Peter took the time to thoroughly tape over every open hole in the wall to ensure he couldn't reach in and touch anything dangerous. He thoroughly vacuumed the house every day to ensure it was clean when we got back from work. He explained everything he was doing thoroughly so we understood what he was doing. My father-in-law is a retired electrician who has really high standards and he complimented Peter's work on numerous occasions, noting that usually electricians won't apply silicone sealant around the back of electrical panels and that takes extra effort. The project was pretty huge as we installed a new solar-ready 200 amp main panel, a 70 amp sub-panel for the house, and a 100 amp sub-panel in the garage for two 240V 50 Amp outlets for EV chargers (in the future). The old knob and tube wiring throughout the entire house and garage was completely replaced with new romex, and a trench had to be dug in order to run the new wiring to the garage sub-panel. We also had the outdoor lighting around our house significantly upgraded with new Philips Hue outdoor lights, a new lamp post installed at the front of our house and we had recessed lights installed in the living room and hallway. Peter delivered on absolutely everything and then some. On the original quote we were going to have to get a different contractor to dig the trench and repair it. Peter was kind enough to throw in digging the trench and even doing all the concrete repair work for free, no change order required (and the concrete work was actually very nicely done!). It's things like that which are way above and beyond and just demonstrate how committed he is to making sure his customers are happy. All the work just passed final inspection so the project is now 100% complete. We will definitely be using Peter for all of our future electrical needs. He's literally the best contractor I've ever worked with (and I work with lots of contractors in my job as well), and his pricing is very reasonable to boot.
