He decided to not complete the job after completing part of it. What happened was I pushed back on a $1000 price increase --citing material cost on ***only a couple of days before the job***. And we had been working with him for a month at that point. When I questioned the steep price hike, Mark said he didn't want to work with us anymore and that we should trust his word and business (who we've only worked then for the first time.... and this was a major electrical work). He did mention he now had a few jobs in his queue and was extremely busy. He said he was happy to work with customers who didn't question him. We were stunned with being abandoned mid-project. We needed an electrician to solve a problem with the electricity in several locations of the house. Some of the receptacles and switches would read on the voltage tester at 120 volts. However, at times some of the switches would have very little power unable for the microwave to fully heat food. Also, the lights in several rooms would dim out or get brighter. Fearing that a short circuit may be the culprit, we contacted Independent Electric. Carol was so helpful and caring about our concerns that she made certain we were able to contact Mark who was working at other job locations. After I explained the problems to Mark, he figured out that it may be the power line going into the house. He suggested to call the Electric Company first to check the line. Carol is the receptionist at Independent Electric and she was very nice and a good listener and sent Mark that afternoon. He replaced a bad circuit breaker and fixed a light bulb - $180. So far, very good. I also had asked Carol to ask Mark about providing an estimate for two other smaller issues: faulty external electrical wiring to a lamppost and installation of an electrical outlet in the crawl space. After a week, no estimate. I called again, and again Carol assured me I would get an estimate. I did get one, but it was a $3500 quote to replace the electrical panel. I have not been able to talk with Mark directly to get an explanation, they don't respond to my emails, and I still haven't gotten a price for the two work items I actually want to do, despite asking multiple times.
