I had the pleasure of having Steve and Landon come to my house to troubleshoot and fix an issue with one of my outdoor outlets. They were able to quickly narrow down the issue and fix it, replacing some recepticles as well. A fairly simple job but they handled it expertly and professionally. Thank you JSA! read more

John and his team have been awesome to work with and done great work for us. John gave us a fair quote to replace our electrical panel and completed the work timely and with an eye as if it was his own home adding electrical outlets in places they made the most sense and thinking about future upgrades we talked about. Additionally as part of a second phase John adjusted his schedule and worked late to complete additional work in coordination with other contractors. He has been professional and an all around pleasure to work with. would highly recommend JSA Electrical Services to friends and family. read more

Biggest rip off in SM. Do not trust this guys. Get everything in writing before you start. Many other options in town with reliable service.

I appreciated the quick response from John who was willing to call and text after hours. Steve was able to fit me in and swung by the next day to help me out with our electrical emergency. He showed care for the work being done and did a great job explaining to me what the issues were. We had a house grounding issue affecting a low voltage coax. Other electricians didn't sound confident to help out but JSA was! Steve was knowledgeable and did a great job explaining things to me. I really appreciated the work they did. I will definitely call them again should I have issues! read more

My internet company said my ground wire was bad and burnt their cable. I had doubts but couldn't prove it. I need a electrician. Neighbor referred me to John. Great communication and just in time. It's over 90F out in direct sun John and his guy went to work right away. Not only did he service a decades old ground rod, he solved the mystery by taking the damaged coaxial cable apart and explained everything. Obviously whoever did the internet cable mishandled the braided shield that it touched the center conductor and shorted it. When the cable guy came over he still tried to blame it on our house this time the ground terminal screw saying it too hot. I couldn't believe my ears!!! That screw is metal and it's exposed in fierce afternoon sun for so long how can it not be hot to touch? His name tag says "Technical Operation Supervisor". I wish I can work with people like John someday and pick up more of those small yet important wisdom over time. It's the old way, trial and true. As for the cable guy - though they said sorry in the end I am paying for their ignorance. It's the incompetency around us that's costly. read more

John and Steve were great! They fixed both electrical and non-electrical issues for me. Very knowledgeable and honest. Thank you! Would highly recommend them. read more

When you have an electrical problem, don't go to a handyman. Trust a licensed electrician. John Andrus, owner of JSA Electrical Services, fixed a long-running problem with the power to my Pasadena garage, which caused the garage door opener to fail. It was a thorny problem that had been looked at several times in the past with no resolution. He arrived promptly, and his 40 years of experience as an electrician really showed. It is now finally fixed. (The prior wiring was wrong and delivered a lower voltage than required.) As I am new to my townhouse, he also checked the electrical panel inside and helped untangle the switching and outlet situation on my patio and upstairs. He knows his stuff! His charge was reasonable, and I recommend him highly. If I ever have another electrical issue, he will be my first and only call. read more

We were very happy with John and Steve's professionalism and service. They did a great job for us, and showed a level of professional ethics and customer service when an unexpected situation came up. Having experienced some really uneven service in the past by another local company, we were doubly impressed by their honesty and responsiveness. read more

I live in an older house and had issues with an outlet occasionally burning out and shutting power off to a section of the house. I always try to support local businesses so I called and spoke with John who listened to my problem and was able to send Steve within a couple hours. Steve had a good idea of what was wrong and corrected the old wiring in all 8 outlets which were on the same circuit and replaced a burned out outlet in about 2 hours. Price was reasonable and I was happy to pay for high quality work. Will call on them again if needed. read more

My contractor recommended JSA to replace a gable fan that broke. John returned my call very quickly. He made a coupe of recommendations on how to replace it and had someone out within a few days. They showed up on time to make the repairs and had an excellent model to replace the fan. They made sure I knew how to operate the fan. They are are the top of my list next time I need work. read more

Can't say enough good things about John and Steve! They came highly recommended by our contractor and it's no surprise why! They stopped by first thing in the morning to inspect our faulty electrical meter/panel and were able to repair it the same day and did a fantastic job! Highly knowledgeable, safety conscious and just all around wonderful to work with! They will be our first call any time we need work, can't recommend enough! read more

John was very accommodating. Electricity went out in my neighborhood and when it returned, part of my house had no electricity. I called John and he was willing to help me out that same day. He informed me of his hourly rate up front which was reasonable and he showed up as promised. He is an excellent communicator and kept me informed. He completed the repair in timely and profession fashion. I plan on hiring him to replace my breaker and rewire my home. I was very pleased with John. read more

My painting contractor recommended John when an open electrical box was exposed after removing a bathroom wall mirror. He came over SAME DAY because of safety hazards, then called in his assistants for a prolonged & difficult problem. My house has no attic & no crawlspace in that wing. Terribly difficult working conditions! There was a tiny closet next to the room with a minuscule upper crawlspace - maybe 3 feet - that John squeezed through to rewire. He was bruised all over his torso from squeezing in! I don't think anybody else would have done it! They meticulously cleaned up at the end of the day, vacuuming up all dust & removing all debris. They agreed to return the next day to move light fixture locations in two baths and add a twin a light switch (allowing light turn on from either entrance to the room). Again, it was a difficult rewire because they worked from a tiny crawlspace below, fishing the wire upwards through the studs. They neatly finished wallboard repair & meticulously cleaned up. Unlike many contractors, there was no rushing to leave to the next job where wall board dust, empty boxes, dirty coffee cups, and greasy fingerprints are left all over. I am planning to have JSA Electrical rewire my entire house. John is a great problem-solver and good at thinking ahead to anticipate problems. Very thoughtful & smart so most of the "unexpected" problems are avoided or at least budgeted for. This is particularly important to me because I have a old house where cheap renovations have caused a lot of problems. His bid was a little higher than the other ones I've gotten but I'm sure it will be worth it. I won't have workers not showing up, expensive "unexpected" problems, or problems caused by their failure to examine the big picture. Whole house retiring is an expensive job so I'd prefer to pay a little more to JSA to ensure the best job. read more

John & Steve fixed several electrical issues at my home and did this in a timely and efficient manner. I also appreciated the fact that they arrived when they said they would and they cleaned up after the work was completed. Steve was more than fair with the charges for his service. Excellent job guys. read more

John installed a 50 amp breaker, all required wiring and Tesla Wall Connector in our garage for a new electric vehicle. Was responsive, work was flawless and even followed up with me after the vehicle had arrived to make sure everything was going well. Finally (and he did not need to do it) his team pointed out a water pipe leak in the crawl space of my house that if it went unfixed could have been a real probably for my family. Thanks to his team for a great job - very high attention to quality and met schedule and budget! read more

John and Steve were fantastic! I see why they have all 5 star reviews. They were prompt, polite, cleaned up after themselves and did a fantastic job installing cans in the living room, outside patio lights, backyard lights and even redid an old rickety plug in the garage because they noticed it wasn't functioning properly. They will now be our go-to electricians. Could not recommend more highly! read more

Two days before New Year's, there was a huge rainstorm that caused a giant oak tree to fall on our house. The electric pole on our roof was ripped from its mooring to a 90 degree angle. The wire to the telephone pole remained attached although now the wire was dangerously low to the street. I called JSA Electrical Service for help with the electrical work. On the same day, John came out and provided an estimate for me. On the next day the work was done. I was very impressed with John and his colleague Steve in repairing the hole in our roof and reattaching the utility pole. John also had to get a permit from the city to complete this work. John's honesty, and knowledge in taking care of this matter was very much appreciated. He kept to his original estimate for completing the work which made this whole affair less stressful. I would not hesitate to call him again for any electrical repair work. read more

We could not be happier with John Andrus. He worked very hard to get our electric panel installed. He was there when he said he would be and worked many hours to get our electricity back and working. He is very meticulous and checked everything to make sure all was in order. His assistant, Steve, was also very good at what he did. They were a great team. We would highly recommend him. Thank you John. read more

John and Steve are terrific - totally competent and totally professional! They solved an issue of shorting in our built-in microwave which not only made it operational, but they replaced several incorrect parts and wiring which were actually sparking and had become a safety issue. These folks are top of the list for customer service and we highly recommend them for any and all electrical issues! read more

I needed a Bathroom remodel and John Andrus provided the electrical upgrade. The house is vintage 1940s and needed to be brought up to code. Along with the other reviews, John gave an immediate estimate and gave confidance he could do the job. We agreed on a date and he was able with help from his partner Steve to complete the job in one day. They were very neat and cleaned up the site . I would recommend them to anyone needing electrical work. Good Job!! Al S. read more

John the owner is a honest guy. He rewired my home for a fair price and stood by his estimate even though a few wire runs were more difficult. He did not make unnecessary holes in the wall and the holes that were made I could patch myself. He cleaned the job site every day and was respectful of our home. I would call him again for my electrical needs. read more
