110% recommend Primitive Electric!
This review for Primitive Electric is long overdue! Sometime in early June 2026, I reached out to several licensed electricians because my mother's 1925 home was experiencing intermittent electrical issues, with the power going out throughout the house. Before scheduling anyone to come out, I wanted to receive a written quote or estimate online. I didn't want to spend time meeting with multiple electricians at the house unless I had a clear idea of the potential cost and scope of work.
After uploading photos and describing the work that needed to be done, I received several estimates. Unfortunately, most were very general and didn't provide the detailed breakdown I was looking for. Only two companies provided itemized quotes, and Primitive Electric stood out immediately because they provided the best and most thorough written quote, with a warranty for parts & labor, before coming out to inspect the house and finalize the estimate.
Their initial emailed quote clearly outlined both the work and the individual costs, including:
* 200 Amp Main Panel Upgrade
* Permits
* Main Ground System
* Service Riser
* Stucco Demo & Repair
* And other necessary work
I spoke with Emanuel, the owner, by phone and really appreciated how transparent and straightforward he was about the cost and the entire process. When I met him at my mother's house, he took the time to answer all of my questions and explain everything clearly. He was extremely professional and, without me even asking, kindly offered to provide a generator for the half-day period when SCE would need to shut off the power for the upgrade. That allowed us to keep the refrigerator and other necessary appliances running.
There was no upselling, and Emanuel stayed true to the original quote. He was honest, straightforward, professional, and easy to communicate with throughout the entire project.
I am 110% happy that I hired Primitive Electric! Emanuel and his crew were incredibly professional, communicative, and went above and beyond to get the job done. And there was even an unexpected challenge along the way--a skunk was discovered in the basement where the crew needed to work! They handled the situation and made the necessary accommodations so the project could continue.
Throughout the entire process, Emanuel was extremely responsive to my texts and calls. I also really appreciated his positive, friendly, respectful, and forthcoming attitude. The crew did a fantastic job, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
I have already recommended Primitive Electric to family and friends--and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an electrician who is professional, honest, transparent, responsive, and stands behind their work.
In fact, just yesterday, Emanuel installed a 240V circuit for an AC/heat pump for me, and once again, the work was excellent.
