I was getting my pool ready for my kids birthday and noticed a small piece was broken. I called this store to see if they had the part in stock. A very nice lady answered and asked if I could hold. After about 10 minutes on hold she went to see if they had the part. Then a gentleman answered and said they did have the part in stock and told me the price, anout $50. I had purchased this piece before and remember it being about $10-15 the last time. I asked him why it was so expensive and his response was "well you chose to buy a house with a pool." I chose to ignore the comment and attempted to explain that I had purchased this part before for about a third of the cost and his response was "well you should go back there then." I told him that sounded great and ended the phone call. I found the part on Amazon for $15 and had it the next morning. I know Leslie's is almost always more expensive and was prepared to pay more for the part but this gentleman's attitude has permanently turned me away from even considering this store ever again. read more

Truly Bummed about having to do this report. What happened to customer service? What a pitty! Yesterday, we brought our water in for it tested and walked out with $200 worth of treatment! No where were we told we couldn't swim in it as it was being treated... so today outta caution. I called, only to be put on hold after my initial question, for 20 minutes I waited patiently knowing they must be busy because of the holiday. However I finally hung up and called them back to leave a number when they could called me back. The man said what is your question, not even a I'm sorry for the wait, or anything. So when I told him we just purchased chemicals from them yesterday and I wanted to ask if we could go swimming, because nothing was stated on the paperwork yesterday nor the man that sold the $200 worth of chemicals to us told us to stay out of the pool for the next four days... He just said we couldn't end of story. Like he couldn't be bothered with me, well I don't have to spend my money at your location.. End of story. Super sad, Really he didn't even ask what chemicals.. What a crock of shit! Worst Customer Service ever! I sure hope they're all independently owned because I will never go back to this one! Rude is Rude~ End of Story! My mother and I went into the store at 4:17PM to ask about the kiddie pools. The representative was extremely rude when she informed us they were out of stock. We asked her if she could check the inventory at other stores but she misunderstood our request and was unable to check for us. We called the Leslie's pool supply location at Pleasanton and the representative on the phone was extremely helpful when compared to the representative here. I tried to get my pool water problems corrected last year and continued to struggle with algae growth all summer. I went through Leslie's water treatment plan several times at considerable expense. They just kept having me come back and buy more ineffective products. I finally gave up on their scam that keeps you coming back and never cures the problem. I did more research and found if you add a small amount of copper sulfate crystals all algae problems completely disappear!!!!! Quick easy and CHEAP! read more

I somehow divide my pool supply business between the Concord store and the Pleasant Hill store and, although PH is a little farther from home, I prefer it to the Concord store. The reason for that is the staff. Not saying that the staff at Concord is bad, or anything. Nope. Nothing like that. They are all quite helpful, and I would recommend either store. But I am writing this review in response to a particular experience. I recently needed to use a pump seal that I bought over a year ago, which, when I finally needed to use it, turned out to be faulty. Here I had been so forward thinking by buying the part well before I was going to need it, so that I wouldn't have to drive all over creation looking for it in my soggy time of crisis. And now I have replaced the bad seal, and have to replace the "new" seal, as well, doing the job twice. That Murphy's law thing is still very much alive. Sheesh. The name of the person who helped me that day, is Mindy. After hearing my "story", she promptly offered to replace the defective seal, even though it was well beyond any warranty period, used or not. What can I say? It is this kind of customer service that makes companies like Costco, Home Depot, etc. great to do business with, and I am pleased to see that Leslie's stands side by side with the likes of them in this regard. read more

The moment we entered the store, we were greeted and asked if we needed help. Connor was helpful and even found us a screw for a pool sweep from parts of a used polaris. We ended up buying a pool cover and various items because he was so nice and helpful. He was knowledgeable and gave us information to make a good choice for parts and accessories. Visited store to find out what chemicals to add to a hot tub at our new house. Clerk refused to tell me what chemicals you add to a hot tub after refilling it, as if I can't get the information on the internet. His story was that all hot tubs are different and all water is different, as if everyone in Lafayette and Pleasant Hill does not get their water from the same water company. He gave me a sample container to fill and bring back so they can do a water test and then put me in their water program. It might be a great program but all I wanted was an answer to a simple question and he wouldn't give it to me. Next time I'll buy what I need on the internet. read more

The store seems a lot cleaner and the customer service just always seems better and more personable than the closer store. They did nothing to fix it, finally after waiting on it for several months, I just paid a pool service repair company to install a new one. Horrible customer service. Like leshwab, you can see her running from the back to greet customers and the huslte is greatly appreciated. Her ability to multi task helps put me at ease because I know that even when its busy, she will be able to assist me in no time at all (also it gives me time to listen to her educating other customers which always leads to me learning something new). Went to Leslie's in Pleasant Hill a couple of days ago with a pool sweep that had a couple broken belts. I had researched it on YouTube prior to going and had a pretty good idea of what the problem was and how to repair it. I was greeted by Mindy and asked her if she could replace the belts on the pool sweep. Not a problem...Mindy took the pool sweep back to her workbench and worked on it like a pro. I thought I was watching a replay of the YouTube repair video. Mindy took the pool sweep apart exactly as it was illustrated on YouTube, replaced the broken parts (there were other parts that also need replacing), put it back together, all with a smile. Mindy is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional! I would definitely recommend her and Leslie's Pool Supply to others. I have been going to Leslie's Pool Supplies in Pleasant Hill for years and its always been a pleasure, the staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I am a DIY guy and I have been maintaining my pool for 25 years including the electrical and plumbing. Maintaining the water chemistry has been a challenge and I seemed to get at least one algae bloom a year, which is too many. Two years ago I started having my water tested by Leslie's every week or two and I have not had an algae bloom since! Wow! So if you are getting algae blooms, life is too short, let Leslie's do it for free! Theirs is much more accurate. Also warm weather will be here soon, they have a very nice patio table set on sale for $249! It includes a large umbrella (must be 9 or 10 feet wide, but check yourself) a nicely finished table and 4 folding chairs (fold them and take them inside for the winter).
