I can't recall if I have ever been inside a Leslie's before (as I've never owned a pool personally), but I'm glad we stopped in today to purchase a pool float for our infant daughter. They have a great selection of pool toys/floats (and of course pool cleaning supplies) and everything appeared to be decently priced. We also snagged a 8' blow-up pool on sale for $20! I'm glad to see this niche store open for all pool owners. The people in the store are good. However, the service team is awful. I have gone to two locations and scheduled service. First one (Rancho) they called and scheduled a time, but did not show up. I asked for a new $4,000 heater from this location. They showed up to say, yep you have gas. I asked how long it takes to get the heater and he said a couple of days. Two weeks now and I haven't heard a thing. Wonder what warranty calls would be like? read more

My pump motor and circuit board went out. It looked like it was going to take a couple of weeks to get the parts. I was very unhappy to say the least. Then the Setvice Manager Angel showed up with his Ace Technician Joel to take care of us. I have to say they represent Leslie's well and would be comfortable referring friends and family to them. So I get my pool water tested and am trying to call during business hours and no one answers the phone! I call another Leslie's to get help understanding the report. All she does is confuse me more. Been using them for the last 2 years, since I got my pool in. Prices were decent and Mike was "ok" but I gotta day since they hire the assistant manager I have been very dissatisfied. I don't remember her name but she has told me the exact opposite of what Mike has said I need for the pool and maintenance. I've even looked stuff up to fact check her and she's dead wrong! The owner or store manager some elderly white man who is super rude and does not honor the online prices. Stopped in and asked for the powder power pro 50 pound bucket which shows on line for 139.99 the owner told us that he would not honor the price and we had to pay 159.99. Well, we went through a major yard renovation that started in 02/08 and we are still not done. As part of the renovation, we added ponds and waterfalls. (Henceforth to be called Michelle C's Follies as I swear the ponds are still not functioning correctly and I want to stick hot pokers in my eyes every time I look out my window and see two ponds or should I say rock basins in which water should sit). On occasion, when the contractor gets the dang pond running, we have had to frequent this establishment to obtain 'shock' to de-cootize the ponds. As you can tell, I am not a pond expert and thankfully, the good people at Leslie's are experts. They are kind and able to listen to my ramblings about the pond and then are able to recommend product for the pond. With out them, I would be lost...and now I am able to purchase product and sound as if I know what in the heck I am talking about. With any luck, the ponds should be ready for my daughter's high school graduation....18 years from now....and with even more luck, Leslie's will be there providing us the products we need to make our pond pretty and clear. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would! Discriminatory, exclusive and extremely rude customer service skills. I'd think we were in some back woods town. Service people ignored us, then when we asked for assistance they were short and said "sorry we can't help you". They didn't explain why they could not help or say they didn't carry the part we needed. They just walked away. They were unkind and short. I will see if there is a corporate office or higher up to report to. I'm unsure how you maintain business with a business manner as such?!?! It's honestly disgusting!!! I don't treat ex's like that lol!!! I will get in to detail with higher ups. I always get great service here at Leslie's pool supply in Alta Loma . The staff was great and helpful and spent a lot of time testing my water and helping me get everything I need to get my pool looking tip top for the holiday weekend. She gave me very specific instructions on how and when to add my chemicals and almost instantly my water cleared up. They also have toys and supplies you don't see in the other stores. I've been going here off and on for years and then something like the following happens and reminds me why I dislike them. I bought a 35# container of chlorine tablets and was suppose to get a $5 Leslie reward. I never got it but went back to the store a week later to buy something else and although the store admitted I should have got the $5 they said they can't do anything about it and proceeded to give me a pamphlet and told me to follow instructions. Problem is. The pamphlet was in Spanish and I don't speak or read Spanish. 1) why can't the store fix the issue right then. 2) Why would you give a middle age white guy a Spanish pamphlet. I've been going to this Leslie's for a few months now since I moved to Rancho Cucamonga. The last time I went in Adam was very helpful and patient with all my questions considering I am a new pool owner and am trying to do it myself. He recommended a product called yellow out for the mustard algae that had accumulated in my pool over the winter, along with a shock treatment. I followed his directions explicitly and the product worked just as he guaranteed. I decided to surprise my father and get his spa running for fathers day my first time in was great the store manager Matt helped me find everything I would need to the total of $100 to get the spa cleaned up. Once I returned home I discovered everything tucked away in the hot tub it's self so not even 3 days later I returned this time I was greeted by Erica who seemed helpful up to the point when I said I needed to do a return she then became very rude and told me that they can not return chemicals my packages where unopened still sealed and in the original bag I was given them in I pointed out to her that their policy says 14 days satisfaction guaranteed full refund or exchange with receipt she told me this still did not apply to chemicals I then asked for the manager and was told he would be in at noon the next day so I had to go back a 3rd time again I delt with Matt and I told him at no point in my purchase did he tell me that chemicals where non refundable his response was it never came up! Only under threat of going on yelp and leaving a bad review did he decide to do the refund. I will not shop at this location anymore due to the service I received and the unprofessional nature of their employees. Policy's should be told to customers and not misleading. read more

I am very satisfied with the leslie's pool supply near my home. I can't figure out the chemical balancing thing on my own. if left to my own devices, my pool would be a bubbling green cauldron. but I just take in my water sample(in the container they provide)and they run a very complete analysis. the guy prints it out for me and explains it carefully. I just nod my head and say,"uh-huh". but anyway he shows me which chemicals to use and in what amounts. I pour them in the pool and bring another sample back in two weeks(even though you're only really allowed 1 free test per month. sshhh). they are very smart pool-wise and will help you with any problem. read more

I have been going to a local family owned pool shop in Montclair, Ca for years and decided to try out this Leslie's Store on 19th Street in Alta Loma. I live in a nearby city and needed 4 cartridge filters for my Hayward Kettle filter, a large container of powdered pool chlorine, and some pool toys for the kids. I had my 8 year old son and my 13 year old daughter with me as we entered the Leslie's Store at 8732 19th Street in Alta Loma around 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, 7/22/15. I had just picked my son up from daycare and unfortunately his hands were sticky, so I asked the salesman if we could quickly use their bathroom to wash my son's hands. At first the salesman, who was helping another woman, seemed to ignore me, but then he said that they don't have a bathroom. I thought he was joking so I asked where the Leslie's employees went to the bathroom. He said their bathrooms were not for the general public and that I should go to the local, adjacent grocery store instead. I told him that I was prepared to spend at least $400 to $500 cash during my visit, but that I did not want to leave the store, walk to a separate grocery store, and then walk all the way back to Leslie's, just for my son to wash his hands. The salesman did not seem to care and said nothing else, as I told him I was leaving. I told him I was prepared to buy well over $400 worth of pool products and he said nothing and merely turned away from me and walked away, as I exited the front of the Leslie's store. Talk about shocking; what kind of customer service training do these employees go through?! How can any salesman, in their right mind, not care and let a customer who is prepared to spend well over $400, simply walk out of the store? I was mad when I left and was going to go back, after taking my son to the bathroom in the adjacent grocery store, but then I decided to just go back to my local pool shop in Montclair the following day. I will call the Leslie's Corporate Customer Service tomorrow and also follow up to their corporate office with a formal letter about this. Sadly, they have lost a future, well paying new customer for life, that would essentially spend thousands in their store in future years! Leslie's needs to hire more responsible and thoughtful employees who are smarter about generating store profits. Imagine a salesman who would let a new, well-paying customer walk out the door, without saying a word! It is simply shocking to me that this level of terrible customer service is allowed to exist in today's competitive business environment! read more
