I took a different approach for finding dinner reservations this evening. I spoke to the concierge at the hotel!!! Now this is typically not the best idea and will often lead to tourist traps. The current reviews were assuring enough for me to give it a shot and it was well worth it!! First let me warn you. This is not a cheap restaurant. There are two tasting menu options. One for €145 and the other for €85 (discovery tasting menu). The price alone is the only reason for a 4 star review. But if that's not as big of a concern, this is easily a 5 start establishment. The wait staff and sommelier were excellent. They had perfect etiquette typical of high end French restaurants. They were all quite attentive to detail, well-mannered and quite helpful with regards to dinner choices. The discovery tasting menu offered 6 courses. 2 starters 2 mains, and 2 desserts which may seem like a lot but it's a good amount of food for one person. The starters consisted of a duck foe gras and caviar dish. The main dishes included a 65 day aged beef (outrageously delicious) and fish (which was equally good). The dessert was the perfect ending to the meal. See photos!!! Would highly recommend if in the area for the Moulin Rouge show (which is also a MUST!) Again this is easily a 5 star restaurant I just want people to be aware that the tasting menu puts you at €€€€ rather than €€€!

The sampler!

We came when they were about to close for the afternoon before the dinner crowd. This was our first restaurant in Paris and had the meat sampler. It did not fail my expectation! It was so good. We ate quickly as we felt bad since they were closing! It was very nice that they didn't rush us or anything! I had originally put this for dinner on our itinerary, but mixed it up for lunch. I wished we went for dinner as it looked so upbeat and fun when we passed by!

This place is amazing. We made a reservation for New year's dinner. Upon arriving, we were greeted promptly and escorted to our table. Our hostess was wonderful and we got the best seat in the house. Everything from the table setting to the decor inside was really cute. We opted to go for their discovery menu which was a 6 course meal and we were not disappointed. Everything was served with perfection and the presentation was marvelous! I would definitely recommend this place for a romantic dinner date. It is also located within walking distance from Moulin Rouge. Definitely make a reservation as the seating are very limited. It does fill up pretty fast close to dinner time! I will definitely go back!

Veal chop
Stewart E.

We started off with a champagne toast. Then ordered the southwestern foie gras and scallops carpaccio for starters. Entrees were veal chop and the organic beef filet of France. The foo gras melted in your mouth. The scallops were served with a plum like fruit, not sure what it was but they tasted delightfully fresh. The beef filet was good, but highlight of the meal was the veal. The veal was tender and full of fla, served with shallots and mushrooms. We didn't have time for dessert, but really enjoyed the meal.

The best part of the meal was Gabriel the sommelier. The food was amazing but he elevated it to the next level with his perfect drink pairings. Best meal in Paris hands down

These smaller bistro type eateries are the lifeblood of the local cuisine. They consistently offer reasonably priced dishes that are full of flavor and technique. The wine and drink options are well catered to the menu and they provide options for most price points. The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.

This fall (2026), I shall return to Paris and that dish is on my hit list for sure. In fact, I may order 2! Service was very personable. Small place but the largest table had 6 locals who livened up the joint. Americans planning to be in Paris Sept 28-30 hit me up we'll meet for din din. Zig

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

On our final night in Paris, we were looking for a good restaurant near our hotel and I stumbled…read moreupon Sacrée Fleur. It's a tiny restaurant, so if you're a party of two, you might share a table with others, but they have spacers so you don't feel like you're eating together. Reservations were easy to make. You email in your requested sitting and someone will get back to you shortly. We were able to get in a little ahead of schedule and start the adventure. Wines were reasonably priced and they had a good variety of cocktails. We hadn't had French onion soup on our trip, so we ordered it as an appetizer. Sometimes it can get a little salty, but these were very well blended. Sacree Fleur seems to be known for their steak and frites, so we ordered the steak for two. Steak comes out on a sizzling platter. You can turn the pieces over to keep cooking until your preferred temperature. It was quite succulent and the fries were well prepared. There are two dipping sauces and some salt to season your meal. We hadn't a great time and way too much food :)

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

That's not acceptable. The food, however, was. Hence my difficulty in giving one rating. Our 3 dishes tried were indeed solid. Generous servings of seafood in the bouillabaisse, and I have no qualms whatsoever with my cuise de grenouille and foie gras salads. Bread kept us alive. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
