I have never written a review before, but my recent experience at Les Schwab has left me shaken and extremely disappointed. I feel obligated to share what happened in hopes that others are spared from a similar experience, and so this situation is taken seriously. On August 16th at 8AM, I brought in my 2012 BMW 335is for a scheduled consultation because my brake pads were low. After the inspection, I was presented with a service quote of over $2,000, which included replacing rotors, calipers, discs, sensors, and even new tires I never requested. I explained that I have experience building cars and knew my rotors and calipers were fine. However, I was told it was "policy and liability" to replace everything. I declined the tires, but the bill was still over $1,700. Despite the high cost, I agreed only because I had no tools or other options, and I was told it could be done that same day. After I approved the work, I was then told it wouldn't be ready until Monday, August 18th. When I picked up my car on the 18th, I left the lot and reached the first red light. To my horror, my brakes nearly failed completely--traveling 35-40 mph, it took 8 full seconds of pressing my brake pedal to the floor before the car came to a complete stop. I narrowly avoided a collision. Terrified, I immediately pulled over and called Les Schwab. Instead of offering a tow, they told me to drive the car back despite the risk, with only 30 minutes before closing. Once there, I explained the situation in detail. A older technician looked over the car and insisted "nothing was wrong." I asked multiple times for documentation stating that my brakes were fine since this was a serious safety and liability concern, but I was refused three times. I then asked the same tech to test drive it. He first drove it briefly in the lot, when he came back and said nothing was wrong, again, I explained how I was going about 40 mph when this happened and not as slow as him in the parking lot, then--frustrated by my persistence--he grabbed my keys aggressively off the counter, spoke to me in a hostile tone saying "I'll take it for a test drive" and scoffs, and took the car for over 30 minutes. When he returned, he again said "nothing was wrong." I later realized the car had been taken into the shop without my consent or explanation of what was done. This only added to my fear that something was quietly fixed to avoid admitting fault. The next day I spoke directly with the manager, Jesse. Unlike the prior experience, the manager listened and took me seriously. He test drove the car with me, and while the brakes then felt fine, we soon discovered a new issue: a terrible banging sound above 30 mph. After multiple inspections, it turned out my plastic under-guard had been damaged, something that was not present before. This reinforced my concern that the aggressive technician may have driven my lowered car recklessly during his 30-minute "test drive." When I brought this up, the manager said it couldn't be proven. I was given no documentation of any work, inspections, or explanations of anything since picking it up originally. By the end, I was left with: A $1,700+ bill for work I did not fully agree was necessary. A terrifying brake failure immediately after service. An employee who was aggressive, dismissive, reckless, and unprofessional. Refusal of written documentation despite my repeated requests. A new issue (broken under-guard) that did not exist before service. Lost wages from a day and a half of missed work. I want to make clear: this situation was not just inconvenient, it was traumatizing. At 23, with no parents or outside help, this left me legally and financially vulnerable, while also placing me in real danger on the road. I take meticulous care of my car, it is my dream car since I was 15, and to leave a trusted shop only to nearly crash was unacceptable. I am asking Les Schwab corporate to review this case immediately. I sincerely hope Les Schwab does the right thing, not just for me, but to restore trust with customers who depend on them for safety. read more

Between Moscow and Pullman go to Moscow. This shop will charge on every chance they can. Moscow will rotate your tires for free just to have a chance of your business. Balance the tires as well with rotation. Just skip these guys and take the extra 15 min drive. Shop might look new but they still suck. Whoever runs the shop should probably go talk to Jake Miller about how to run a Les Schwab properly. read more

The people that work here are knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and they still run out to greet you like old-school Les Schwab. We have four teenage drivers and really need reliable service that we can trust is done right the first time, and this location in Pullman does not disappoint. I was in the Palouse region on state park business and my way down from the top of Steptoe Butte State Park I hit a pothole and my right front tire ended up having a tear in its outer fabric. I headed to Pullman and went to the Les Schwab location. It was minutes before closing time. They were patient, efficient, extremely professional and they had me on my way in half an hour with a new tire. They looked up the warranty on the existing tires and determined that the replacement would be covered under warranty so it didn't cost me a dime. Cesar and the folks at this tire center went above and beyond and I'm most grateful for them getting me on my way. read more

I showed up on time for my 3:30 appointment for a seasonal tire change over and an alignment. I also explained that I am not for certain it needs the alignment so if they can check it first that would be great. I was told that my vehicle would have to be aligned and then wait to be serviced for the seasonal swap over. On your website it clearly asks which services that you want to have performed on your vehicle during the visit. There is no order in which you select these or specification to it, you simply check what you are making the appointment for. As frustrating as that is, I called for a ride to be picked up as I intended to be there for an hour or so, not for several hours meanwhile I can hear the employees talking about me as I am standing next to your bathroom hallway and they're not even 10 feet away. I get a call at 4:30 from a man saying that they do not have time to change my tires, but the alignment is complete and that I can leave it there and that he can make sure it is done by 8 PM the following day. Which I replied with the fact that I can do that if it is done first thing in the morning as I do not have a free day tomorrow, I left work early today to get to this appointment. He said that he could not do that. So, I said okay and I went to pick up my car. I show up to pick my car up and the lady at the desk asks if they got my tires swapped over and I explained to her that I did not, and she asked if they were going to do it first thing in the morning. I explained to her that I wanted to leave my car there, but the man said I could not, so that I was confused what she meant. She said that I can be one of the first ones if I show up early and so I asked again if I can just leave my car there overnight, she then said that I can only get my car done first thing in the morning if I bring it in myself because I do not get "special privilege". Wow... not only was this one of the very employees that was talking about me earlier to a coworker, but to say that I did not have "special privilege"... in which case she is completely right, and I do not expect special privilege. However, what I do expect is that when I make an appointment to get a service done on my vehicle and take the time out of my day to come to your establishment at least get the job complete. It's one thing to be treated poorly it is another thing to have poor service on top of that. The icing on the cake is that I get into my vehicle and my tire pressure is low on one of my tires. Who aligns a tire without adjusting the PSI? I get home and look over the paperwork and see that despite me asking for it to be double checked before the services were done, they were 'performed' even though they did not need to be. There for I did was charged when I should not have been. What a joke this entire experience has been. Edit: Regardless I still need to get my tires put on, I made an effort to go in at 8AM the following morning to get them done, I arrived just a few minutes late with about 10 people in front of me. After waiting in line I was informed "That we're full for today" why was I told to come back early in the morning? Do I need to camp out in front of your store to get my tires swapped? I was told the previous day that if I came in early I could get it done AND that they could ATLEAST have it done by 8 PM, but I guess that option is off of the table from them screwing me over the first time. Edit2: Let it be known that "Les Schwab" has commented on here in regard of my comment and that I should reach out to management. I went there to follow up on a bad experience I had at the Les Schwab in Moscow, ID a few days earlier. Brian was super helpful and was able to SHOW me what the problem was, unlike the person in Moscow -- who just put new tires on a car that likely didn't need new tires. You can read my review for that interaction there. But back to Les Schwab in Pullman, WA. GREAT customer service both on the phone and in person from the minute I called and again when I walked in the door, all the way to my paying for the alignment I got. As well as the alignment, I was also told what else might be wrong with the car and multiple people working at the store said that what happened at Moscow was not right. SO GO HERE, NOT MOSCOW! Plus, they have more employees! More mature employees with less attitude at that. (I don't mind young emps if trained properly who can treat the customer right, but not interested in people who just are there to sell you stuff you don't need -- especially when the buyer in this case was my 78-year old mom who is on a fixed income.) Final words -- how is it that it took two minutes for the Pullman store to pull up all the records on the car in question, but the people in Moscow had to enter new info 3 times? Again, if I didn't say it loud enough before, GO HERE, NOT MOSCOW. read more

We were in town for a University tour. An hour prior to our appointment, the rental cars sensor indicated that there was a punctured tire. The hotel staff recommended Les Schwab tire shop. The technician was quick and courtesy. He plugged and patched the tire so we didn't miss the event as an unforeseen bonus, it was free of charge things were saving all day at Pullman. read more

I took my car in to get my snow chains on my car and they seemed really busy and was told it would be done within the hour. I honestly expected it to take a lot more but it was done within 30 minutes and the front desk employees were very nice and informative! It was also still snowing in Pullman but all employees seemed to be keeping busy and getting through it even though it was freezing. Will definitely be going back if needed read more

As you can see from other recent reviews, this tire center should be avoided at all costs unless it is absolutely the last resort for your car needs. Caveat: Buyer beware!! This center is run inefficiently, with very little regard to customer care. The first thing you see when you walk in is the rows of keys and info cards on the wall, which at first glance makes you think "cattle call" - but I came with an open mind in hopes that I would receive great customer care. Unfortunately, this place is run like a fraternity "gone wild" where all these young men (and its all men, except for a few female receptionists) seem to be having a jolly good time, with a cavalier attitude about their work. The wait time is soo long, and after 1.5 hours of waiting, my vehicle was still not looked at, even after I made an appointment to have my vehicle looked at. What is the point of making an appointment if you have to wait so long before it even is makes it to a "technician"? My comments and complaints to the manager or assistant manager were met with deaf ears and the assistant manager completely disregarded my comments, as if waiting so long is "trivial" or that he and his frat brother employees "could do no wrong." This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a car/tire center and it has completely ruined my day. Thanks Pullman LES SCHWAB, maybe you should learn to be LESS SNOB or LESS SHABBY. I asked specifically to get my left rear tire replaced because I was told it needs to be replaced. Instead they replaced both my front tires. $200 later and I still need to get what I went in for. read more

The service was good. They worked in the time stated. Provided an estimate. Don't use any kind of interior protection when operating your vehicle so it may be a little dirty but not that big of a deal. My biggest thing is the interior of the building is a mess. Floors look horrible and cealing tiles are all stained, cracked or broken. Not a "feels clean" environment so I wounld say they really need a makeover there. Had to edit my review...after having my breaks checked i went and bought the parts to replace them. When I went to remove one of the tires they cross threaded one of the lug nuts and it broke while I tried to remove it so now I have a tire missing a lug nut. Thanks for that guys. Now I will need to pay to have someone fix it. I called and not sure who answered it but they told me I had to pay to fix it since they could not be sure I wasn't the one who did it. Really? Literally I've never had such a bad experience like this before at any other repair place. I took my car to Les Schwab because of a noise and grinding around one of my wheels and they checked it out and said some parts needed replacing and it needs an alignment. Fine. I was told it would take a couple days and that was fine too. So I left it with them over spring break. I got a call about two hours after I left that the car was done. Fine. When I picked it up later, the problem was worse than when it started, something was hanging down under my car, and I was told literally nothing by the office person. They handed me my invoice and said goodbye. I then found out later they couldn't fix the problem completely because they don't service that part of the car. That's fine but WHY WOULDNT THEY TELL ME WHEN I PICKED IT UP? So I drove a broken car home. I did not plan my day around a broken car, only a fixed one, so I couldn't leave it. This place has no communication and that is a serious problem. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service.....EVER! They do not live up to their commercials regarding their service. Daughter's car had a flat tire (WSU student) and was parked in restricted area. She called to see if they could do roadside assistance and change the tire, which they said they could do. She called twice and they said they didn't have anyone available, or did they offer a time when someone would be available. The third time she called, they basically said they didn't have time, gave her the brush off and didn't offer any suggestions. Poorly run shop The people that work there are nice, however, the management is not. Brought two trucks there and BOTH had issues. The manager did not apologize nor help to make a concession. He just demanded I show a receipt for getting my tires rebalanced (which i had to do). Just really poor customer service, poor attitude...and apparently, a poorly run shop. My parents had taken their vehicle in for a nail in the tire and they tried to sell them all 4 new tires. Be very weary of their upsell and i highly recommend you don't send your college kids there. read more

I want to start out by saying I have only given 1 review before this one in all 20 years of my life, this is my second. I am a poor college student so when I found my car with a flat tire in my parking lot I was pretty distraught. My boyfriend and I put a spare on and we took it to Les Schwab praying the tire just needed to be patched up and, lo and behold, the tire just needed to be patched. They patched it, put the tire back on my car, checked my car, then filled all my tires, all for FREE. They have the best customer service and are so friendly. We will definitely be coming back when we need (and can afford) new tires. Thank you Les Schwab! read more

Les Schwab in Pullman charged me 1200 dollars for snow tires for our minivan, and then another 800 dollars for snow tires for our subaru, they wanted to sell me aluminum rims for another 400 dollars which was egregious, plus steel is better, but they did have steel at the time I was there. I recently went in to have my snow tires taken off, they did not me tell upfront that they were planning to charge 107 dollars! They also told me my front breaks were 75% worn and the dealership said the breaks were fine just last week. Pullman Les Scwab is a scam. I have bought tires at Les Scwab in the past in Spokane with a much better experience and less cost. read more

WORST SCHWAB EVER! We have had an Account with them for over 15 years. Sent my daughter in there today down in Pullman to fix a slow leak in a tire & rotate tires. Granted it's a busy day, I told her she would probably have to wait a couple hours. They told her 4 hours at 2 pm, it is now 6:40 and they haven't touched her car. Never again. I've been to multiple Les Schwabs, as this is a fairly prevalent chain in the pacific northwest, but my review for the location holds for the other locations that I've been to. I've been to the Pullman location on two separate occasions in the last few months, both on potentially needing new tires, and fixing a flat. On the first occasion, they came out, looked at my tires, and said that I still had a little life left in the tires and sent me on my way. They made no attempt to sell me anything that I didn't need. On the second occasion, I came in with a flat, and they fixed it for free! I think that these gestures are very deliberately done as a business strategy, and it's a smart idea, and probably a large part of their success. When the time comes that I need new tires I'll definitely be looking at giving them the business, which was surely their goal. read more

Worst tire place to possibly take your vehicle. Cheap tires with cheap service by people who have no idea what they are doing. Spend extra money to get it done right anywhere but this shit show. Had tires put on & felt like car was going to wobble itself apart, they wouldn't come look at it (pretty sure that's part of their warranty) & made me drive it in. Then I sat for hours waiting when they should have made it priority number one considering it was their installation causing a safety issue. Had an amazing experience with Joshua today. Noticed on the way to Pullman from sequim Washington I had something "off" up front of a very lifted Dodge diesel. Joshua got me right in, discovered all 4 out of balance , and went over the truck very thoroughly. I feel like I lucked out today with customer service and going to the right spot. Tuesday, I went in for brakes, all the way around on my truck. I was told that there was going to be some 'break in' time for the brakes. By Thursday my dashboard was lit up like a Christmas Tree. The master cylinder in my truck is right next door to spark plug #7, which was broken in half. The technician busted spark plug #7, did not place the cap back on the master cylinder appropriately. Les would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what you did. This behavior goes against the mission statement. I paid for a tune-up that I didn't need from my mechanic. I sent in a claim to corporate, Cheryl at Corporate, assumed that because I am female I don't know what a spark plug is and how they work, THEN she was rude and interrupted me and THEN she called me stupid. Update to my previous review of 1 star: I WOULD GIVE THE MANAGER 5 STARS! When I discussed the problems with him and corporate, he went out of his way to correct all the mistakes made in the shop. Les Schwab replaced the botched rack and pinion, ordered us a new replacement hub cap from the dealer, replaced the hub caps for the truck they had damaged, and the manager personally inspected the work before I came to pick up the car. Although they may not get the job done correctly the first time, THEY ARE COMMITTED TO SEEING THE JOB IS DONE CORRECTLY in the end, even if it is at their expense. I couldn't have asked for a more courteous and professional correction to the problem. Thank you Les Schwab. read more

Les Schwabb is just down the street from me, and I decided to try their service several years ago when I heard that they'll fix a flat tire free. I purchased their best All-season radials with a 70,000-80,000 mile warranty and a set of snow tires one step down from studded tires. After a few years, I was told that my ASR's were worn out, and I was very disappointed. I had my paperwork and asked them what to do? The tires had less than 40,000 miles on them. The sales person was very unhappy with me and tried to brush me off. When I insisted, he reluctantly went back into their system to see my service history. I was told that I could have a credit for the difference, and I still had to pay over $200 for a new set of ASR's. When winter came, I had my snow tires put on, and within two hours on my way to Moscow in the dark, I had a flat and had to pull off the highway onto Sunshine Road, and just happened to meet someone who helped me with my spare and followed me into town. I returned to LS in the morning and was told the tire was cut when it was installed by their service team. Unbeknownst to me, they put on another bad tire and cut it, too. On my way to work the next day, I had another flat. Upon returning to LS, I was told that their service team had put on a used tire in the wrong size. He changed it for a new one and sent me on my way. Shortly thereafter, I had two more flat tires. The first one I noticed in my garage on my way to work, and I had to wait for their serviceman to come to my home and put on my spare and repair it at their shop. The other one a jogger pointed out to me on my way to work, and I was able to fill it at work only to go back to LS. I had been dealing with Tony. He said the first flat had a bead and he could not see anything wrong with the second flat. I was also told that my struts were starting to leak and that they could repair them. I have my car serviced at Imported Car Service and I asked Carl about this. Carl told me that many of his customers have this same story from LS, and that 9 out of 10 times, their struts are fine. Carl checked my struts and said they're fine. Carl has also recommended Heritage Tires here in Pullman, and for $80 vs $60 at LS to change my ASR/snow, I choose Heritage. I hope that more people will question the integrity and service of Les Schwabb and get an opinion from those in the field who know their business, not just a tire dealership. read more

A couple of years ago, I purchased a new set of tires from Les Schwab in Pullman. the tires were fine and went on in a reasonable amount of time. However, the technician told me the front rotors were gouged and warped and the brake pads were worn out. I was quoted $250 for the repair. I found this diagnosis odd, since I didn't notice any noise or uneven braking. I was going to be replacing the CV axles anyway, so I figured I could replace the rotors and pads myself at the same time. When I got in there, I was surprised to find the rotors smooth as glass, at almost full thickness, and not at all warped. Even the brake pads had about 40% left on them. I replaced the brake pads anyway since they don't cost much. I was pretty upset about being sold a service that was obviously not needed, so I returned with my written estimate and told the manager about it. He became somewhat defensive. I've not returned to Les Schwab since then. read more

There aren't even words for how grateful I am for these guys! I had my tire blow out while on my way to the shop and having no idea what to do I called them. They not only sent a truck to help me figure out what to do but they fixed my spare on the spot (which was all sorts of bent up) to get me down the road. I pull into the shop and it's a good half hour passed closing. Looking for an alternative solution to get home (45 minutes away, already happy and grateful to be off the side of the road) they offer to put all four new tires on. Sad sad sad,once I saw these Yelp reviews I had to put in my two cents from my google review on this location. My daughter WSU student had been to this location to get various tire issues resolved. The last visit the tech said that she would need a brake job. It is time to get tires so I thought I would give Les a shot at all of my business. Call Taylor and she said a brake job would be $345.00 which included new calipers??? Why in the world would you quote new calipers unless they were leaking or damaged. I questioned her again and she said it would give me a greater warranty. If it is not broke why replace?? I took my business to the dealership Jess Ford. Seems like the ownership does not really care about their reviews and they are hoping that the name will make their sales for them...SAD SAD SAD...Beware customers Beware..... read more

The staff could be more helpful. I come in as a customer and expect to be treated like one. Not a rude, unhelpful staff. You may wait for a long time just for someone to ask you if you need help. The service is also lacking, They put new wheels on my car then told me I need to have hub spacers installed. Why would you put wheels on a car without them if they're needed? They also scratched my brand new wheels when they installed them. read more

This place has the worst customer service, they are rude and disrespectful. The guy who was at the counter helping me was not understanding. I asked them to come out and check my tire when i had a flat to see if it needed repair or see if i could just put air in it. He sat there and argued with me and said they could till it was on the lift. So i wasted and hour that i needed to be in class just to see if they could just put air in it.
