Veal Chuck - very tender
Alex N.

This restaurant was the least popular on the street. That should have been a sign for me right there. The Google pictures though looked good and the food is in deed picturesque. The dining room is quiant, classic, cut and cozy with a touch of romance. The dishes are uniquely composed. Flavors are not mind-blowing nor memorable though. The most unfortunate part was the service. I felt like the wait staff looked at us like we were the tourist lamb chops to be sheared. This is not a good sense. Everything is an upcharge or an attempted upcharge. From up selling the table water to the pushing the Kir Royale over the regular kir. I don't know if they understand what a poor impression this leaves. Don't treat your customers as targets they're not stupid and they will not return. Graciousness is far more appreciated and will be rewarded with return patronage, respect and good word of mouth.

Food is delicious. And if you eat there at lunch - what a deal! I have been there for lunch. Now I tried it for dinner. My lamb chops were perfect! The escargot was very good but nothing out of the ordinary. My friends' orders were great! Delicious food and reasonably priced compared to where I am from.

Fixed price menu includes glass of wine they will tell you is terrible before they run a scam on you.

Tourist trap! Fixed price lunch includes a glass of wine but the server immediately went into the upcharge routine - suggesting a nicer wine. Unfortunately, our guard was down after this place was recommended by our hotel concierge so we agreed to the nicer wine thinking we would either receive both glasses OR an upcharge for one higher grade glass. Instead, we were charged full price (13 euros per glass) but never received the glass included in the fixed price meal. We didn't realize what happened until paying AND tipping the server (which she ASKED for - not standard practice in Europe and awkward). When we complained we were told there was nothing they could do. In other words, they rip you off and don't care! The two stars are for the nice ambiance which is classic "bistro bordelaise". The food was good but certainly not worth feeling like you have been taken advantage of. With many amazing restaurants in Paris, steer clear of ones like Les Jalles that prey on tourists.

Jerusalem Artichoke Soup

One of the best French restaurant that I really enjoyed so far. The food, service and ambiance is perfect. The location is close to the Ritz Hotel. I love the Jerusalem Artichoke soup! It's a must!

Who asked for salt & pepper??

Quick lunch here - patè, lobster, and coffee. Good service, excellent setting, many standard & unique offerings. Thank goodness for a strong dollar. My only surprise was seeing salt & pepper on the table. Really? Too many know nothing customers. Good food needs neither. Everything was delicious.

These smaller bistro type eateries are the lifeblood of the local cuisine. They consistently offer reasonably priced dishes that are full of flavor and technique. The wine and drink options are well catered to the menu and they provide options for most price points. The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.

This fall (2026), I shall return to Paris and that dish is on my hit list for sure. In fact, I may order 2! Service was very personable. Small place but the largest table had 6 locals who livened up the joint. Americans planning to be in Paris Sept 28-30 hit me up we'll meet for din din. Zig

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

On our final night in Paris, we were looking for a good restaurant near our hotel and I stumbled…read moreupon Sacrée Fleur. It's a tiny restaurant, so if you're a party of two, you might share a table with others, but they have spacers so you don't feel like you're eating together. Reservations were easy to make. You email in your requested sitting and someone will get back to you shortly. We were able to get in a little ahead of schedule and start the adventure. Wines were reasonably priced and they had a good variety of cocktails. We hadn't had French onion soup on our trip, so we ordered it as an appetizer. Sometimes it can get a little salty, but these were very well blended. Sacree Fleur seems to be known for their steak and frites, so we ordered the steak for two. Steak comes out on a sizzling platter. You can turn the pieces over to keep cooking until your preferred temperature. It was quite succulent and the fries were well prepared. There are two dipping sauces and some salt to season your meal. We hadn't a great time and way too much food :)

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

That's not acceptable. The food, however, was. Hence my difficulty in giving one rating. Our 3 dishes tried were indeed solid. Generous servings of seafood in the bouillabaisse, and I have no qualms whatsoever with my cuise de grenouille and foie gras salads. Bread kept us alive. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
