It was my last evening in Paris, after a well spent 12 day R&R in Europe, it's always an adventure visiting the beautiful countries in this continent, and the city of Paris (for moi, is always must and always my last stop), I can never get tired of this city and what it has to offer; Arts & Museums, The Grand Architecture, and The FOOD! Having a hotel just right at the vicinity of the Sacre Coeur is a blessing on its own, I packed my bags for an early departure the next day and decided to have an early evening stroll in Montmarte - this quaint area is so nice and much prettier at night, skipping my usual dinner spot (sorry Le Relais Gascon) I walked a bit further towards the Carrousel de Saint- Pierre, and a block below to L'Anvers du Decor It was busy but I got seated inside immediately, so I started with a Demi of their Bordeaux Reserve and the Escargot Au Beurre Persille in which they also served a small basket of bread which I thoroughly enjoyed, my Boeuf Bourguignon came no sooner after I finished my snails lol with its deliciousness permeating around the table - it tasted better than it smells, bursting with flavor and cooked really well! I finished my meal with gusto! It was fantastic! To finish my meal, I had a set dessert they called Cafe Gourmand - 3 mini desserts to top off and finish a very filling dinner! I absolutely loved it. The servers are very friendly and set aside a table for six at around 6:30 pm. Out of the dishes we ordered, The star was the steak with mushroom sauce. Frog legs were flavorful. The beef in the bourguignon was very chewy and it appeared that the meat was not of high quality. The garlic-flavored green beans were better than the main dish. We ordered another additional side of green beans but they tasted different than the first serving, heavily seasoned with dill. The duck confit was oddly sitting in a bed of bell pepper sauce. The lamb shank was sweet and gamey. If you decide to dine here, steak with mushroom sauce is THE dish! read more

Not super impressed here but good for tourists who don't speak French. They have tablets in English where you can order from and the drink pours are very generous. The French onion soup was mostly cheese and no onion. The beef bourguignon was decent but the frog legs were overly breaded and soggy. I would not recommend unless you have young children (easy ordering, accommodating menu). The other thing that rubbed me the wrong way was they were fishing for tips which is not standard in France. I stayed in the Montmartre area and stumbled upon this restaurant when looking up places nearby to eat at. It was my last night in Paris and I didn't want to spend too much time waiting to eat. The overall reviews are accurate. I'm sure prices are higher because it's a tourist area. Staff do speak English which makes it easier if you don't understand French. You have the option to sit indoors or outdoors. My friend and I opted for indoor seating by the sidewalk since the weather was nice. We ordered escargot as an appetizer which was delicious. For our main courses, we ordered the duck breast and mussels with fries. It was recommended that we get a side of mashed potatoes to go with the duck breast. It was a perfect combo. Everything was delicious and I'd recommend eating here. Servers are friendly. No reservation needed if you come when they open. read more

The phrase which comes to mind in reviewing this location is "I'll BE BACK" The food is splendid, just splendid. We had the frog legs as appetizers, it was not a disappointment, Perfectly fried, not too dry, just perfect. We also had the Beef Stew. I searched high and low across Paris for the perfect beef stew and I believe I found it. My wife had the bucket of mussels in white wine and blue cheese. This was again an excellent choice. The gentleman who was sitting next to me was also an American and he had the duck with honey glazed sauce, he said it was finger licking good. All in all, I must come back to try other delicious items on their menu. We also had a Parisian elderly couple that sat two tables down and just when they are about to leave, they advised us to also try the Crepe. I later found out that they live in the Neighborhood and often visit the restaurant because the food is that good and affordable. A MUST COME BACK AND VISIT !!! read more

Whenever I visit the Sacre Coer, I dine here, as it is very accessibly, on a quiet street - just off of the main street, with indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff and fast service. I really appreciate the english iPad menu that they have which come with photos as well. It definitely makes choosing between their assortment of classic French dishes relatively easy! The portions here are fairly substantial, you definitely won't leave hungry here. I got the entrecote & frittes (steak & fries basically) with a tasty mushroom sauce. I don't recall what cut of beef the steak was, but it was on the fattier side (yes please :-P ); perhaps ribeye, so it brought in a lot of flavor. Other folks in my table ordered the special beef bourguignon which was a huge portion, and flavorful. I definitely would come back here again! read more

Perfect spot for French food near the Montmartre. They have an English menu available on the iPad and it was super simple to add the items we wanted. Our waitress spoke English and was very courteous. We ordered the French onion soup, escargot, duck confit, mussels, and wine. Had to narrow it down as we wanted to try everything! We really enjoyed every dish and the 6 pc escargot was the perfect starter/size if it's your first time! Duck confit was tender and flavorful, albeit a bit salty, and there was a very generous portion of mussels. Restaurant is small and cozy. Great place for a dinner/late night as they do it in France. We came for an early lunch. Good food and relatively friendly staff. Whether or not you speak French, the menu is on an iPad so you can select whatever language you prefer. I would have given four stars, but am giving three because when our bill came, the waitress came over and made a speech about how the tip is not included, apparently thinking she could get more money out of this American. We were looking for a place to eat some snails and frog legs, since we couldn't get a reservation at Sacred Flower (down the street). I was honestly disappointed but luckily I found this place based on the good reviews. The staff at this cosy restaurant were friendly and helpful, and accommodated us without a reservation on a Saturday night, with just a ~15 minute wait. I haven't seen any local in the restaurant except the staff...:) but they are nice, the food was good, the restaurant is clean and has a great location. Normal prices, not expensive at all and generous portions. We got carried away and ended up ordering more than just snails and frog legs LOL! OMG!!! What a way to end our Paris vacation. We were buying souvenirs up the street when the shop owner reccomended this gem. The staff was welcoming and attentive. We ordered a salad which up to this point in our trip had typically beem 3 to 4 bites, this was huge and super fresh. The goat cheese toast with honey was done perfectly. The waiter/ bar tender even whipped up a cocktail on the spot as my mom cannot drink wine due to an allergy. This was made with fresh juice and super refreshing. Cozy little restaurant we found open on Sunday in Montmartre. I'm giving this five stars based on what it is- a cozy little restaurant. The place was packed (fair amount of tourists with unfortunately quite poor table manners) but the servers and man behind the bar were super attentive. Our trip thus far I had yet to eat a full meal. Needless to say I was pretty hungry. I rolled the diced and got the egg baked in blue cheese and it was AMAZING I am going to try to make at home. For lunch I had their beef bourignon (so?) which was perfection on a cold day! Even better though were the fries that came with it. I could decide which I wanted to eat more of as I couldn't fit it all in! My boyfriend was shocked at how much I ate and we left full and happy. read more

My husband and I were walking through Montmartre looking for a place to have dinner, when we noticed that L'Anvers du Decor was full of happy-looking people eating delicious-looking food. As we were glancing over the menu outside, the hostess popped out to explain the specials, which included house-made boeuf bourgignon. sold! This is a charming little place with delicious food and gracious service. The dinner plates came with your choice of two sides, which on that day included frites, salad, and green beans. In addition to the delicious and very generous portion of the beef that I ordered, I started the meal with their marinated salmon, which I spied on the table next to me. I thought it was smoked salmon, but it was actually fresh raw salmon dressed with oil and vinegar - and really one of the most simply and delicious things I ate in France. Highly recommend! My husband ordered steak au poivre, and his only complaint was that his steak, which he ordered medium, was really more like rare. For the appetizer we did the stereotypical tourist thing of asking for escargot. This was a new experience but we loved it! Snails in garlic butter and pesto, they were delicious. I can only compare it to squid or maybe anchovy in texture, very meaty. Main course I had a steak and salad, we also had the white wine mussels (with chips). Both were amazing, skirt steak cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. The mussels were fresh and delicious, with onions. Had a couple of beers to compliment the meal, all food we had in France was amazing, highly recommend this restaurant. I was reading the menu outside and the very nice hostess helped me translate what was on the menu and assured me they had crepes; which was what I was mainly after. After being seated and looking at the menu I asked the waitress what she would reccomend, and she recommended the roast duck breast (Magret de Canard au Miel) with mashed potatoes and green beans. So I took her advice and it did not disappoint. This was without a doubt the best meal I've ever had. The mashed potatoes were were excellent, I did not know green beans could taste so good, the bread was very fresh and tasted great by itself, and the canard was unbelievably good.
