I stayed in the Montmartre area and stumbled upon this restaurant when looking up places nearby to eat at. It was my last night in Paris and I didn't want to spend too much time waiting to eat. The overall reviews are accurate. I'm sure prices are higher because it's a tourist area. Staff do speak English which makes it easier if you don't understand French. You have the option to sit indoors or outdoors. My friend and I opted for indoor seating by the sidewalk since the weather was nice. We ordered escargot as an appetizer which was delicious. For our main courses, we ordered the duck breast and mussels with fries. It was recommended that we get a side of mashed potatoes to go with the duck breast. It was a perfect combo. Everything was delicious and I'd recommend eating here. Servers are friendly. No reservation needed if you come when they open.

Not super impressed here but good for tourists who don't speak French. They have tablets in English where you can order from and the drink pours are very generous. The French onion soup was mostly cheese and no onion. The beef bourguignon was decent but the frog legs were overly breaded and soggy. I would not recommend unless you have young children (easy ordering, accommodating menu). The other thing that rubbed me the wrong way was they were fishing for tips which is not standard in France. I felt they were taking advantage of that fact we were visitors.

Food is cooked to perfection, the service was friendly. Great place to eat just walking distance to Sacre Coeur.

Located in Montmarte Arridorsement 18, walking distance away from Sacré-Coure, and Moulin Rouge, this restaurant live up to what I have read about it. Excellent French foods and friendly service. The restaurant is casual elegant with non overwhelming menu. Délicieux plats français!

Whenever I visit the Sacre Coer, I dine here, as it is very accessibly, on a quiet street - just off of the main street, with indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff and fast service. I really appreciate the english iPad menu that they have which come with photos as well. It definitely makes choosing between their assortment of classic French dishes relatively easy! The portions here are fairly substantial, you definitely won't leave hungry here. I got the entrecote & frittes (steak & fries basically) with a tasty mushroom sauce. I don't recall what cut of beef the steak was, but it was on the fattier side (yes please :-P ); perhaps ribeye, so it brought in a lot of flavor. Other folks in my table ordered the special beef bourguignon which was a huge portion, and flavorful. I definitely would come back here again!

The phrase which comes to mind in reviewing this location is "I'll BE BACK" The food is splendid, just splendid. We had the frog legs as appetizers, it was not a disappointment, Perfectly fried, not too dry, just perfect. We also had the Beef Stew. I searched high and low across Paris for the perfect beef stew and I believe I found it. My wife had the bucket of mussels in white wine and blue cheese. This was again an excellent choice. The gentleman who was sitting next to me was also an American and he had the duck with honey glazed sauce, he said it was finger licking good. All in all, I must come back to try other delicious items on their menu. We also had a Parisian elderly couple that sat two tables down and just when they are about to leave, they advised us to also try the Crepe. I later found out that they live in the Neighborhood and often visit the restaurant because the food is that good and affordable. A MUST COME BACK AND VISIT !!!

Perfect spot for French food near the Montmartre. They have an English menu available on the iPad and it was super simple to add the items we wanted. Our waitress spoke English and was very courteous. We ordered the French onion soup, escargot, duck confit, mussels, and wine. Had to narrow it down as we wanted to try everything! We really enjoyed every dish and the 6 pc escargot was the perfect starter/size if it's your first time! Duck confit was tender and flavorful, albeit a bit salty, and there was a very generous portion of mussels. Restaurant is small and cozy. Great place for a dinner/late night as they do it in France. Reasonable prices, would come back!

By far our best meal in Paris by far. The wait staff Salama and Edna were amazing, informative and sooo friendly. The beef bourguignon was delicious. Not to mention the scalloped potatoes which were so rich. The duck Shepard's pie was very delicious as well. The frog legs were really tasty and had nice spiced. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend.

We were looking for a place to eat some snails and frog legs, since we couldn't get a reservation at Sacred Flower (down the street). I was honestly disappointed but luckily I found this place based on the good reviews. The staff at this cosy restaurant were friendly and helpful, and accommodated us without a reservation on a Saturday night, with just a ~15 minute wait. I haven't seen any local in the restaurant except the staff...:) but they are nice, the food was good, the restaurant is clean and has a great location. Normal prices, not expensive at all and generous portions. We got carried away and ended up ordering more than just snails and frog legs LOL! Everything was delicious Our order: Frogs legs Magret de Canard Mussels with frites Crème brûlée I highly recommend making a stop here - we will certainly be back.

Went for my moms birthday (party of 5, make a reservation). Heads up the space is a little snug but that is normal. Food was excellent and service was also very friendly and accommodating.

English menu is available! Great service with wait staff who spoke great English. Large portions, delicious food, fair prices. The foie gras terrine was delightful. Mussels and fries were huge and well cooked with lots of flavor. The mussles there are generally smaller in size compared to US, so even though it looks like a huge pot, it isnt actually that much. The egg cocotte (egg baked in blue cheese) is delicious as well, and goes great as a dip with bread. The duck confit was soft and flavorful. Highly recommended!

On our visit to Montmartre, wifey and I stumbled upon this cozy restaurant along the picturesque cobble stone streets of Montmartre. I had the usual escargot and frog legs for appetizers and duck breast cooked to perfection for entree. Wife had the salmon, which according to her was the best salmon she had ever had. The waiter was very knowledgeable and made our experience truly special...lots of wine helped too!

Cute place!

Excellent! We had a salmon dish and beef bourguignon. We are from NV and were trying to avoid a tourist trap. This place was great.

The food was average, tourist-trap fare; adequate but utterly forgettable. There's no reason to go out of your way to eat here.

I started with the free-range eggs with mayo, and my wife started with the leeks with vinaigrette. The eggs were delicious, but the leeks may have been the best preparation I've ever had in my life. For our main courses, she had the egg muffin, and I had the sausage and mash. Our meal was superb. Whoever is in the kitchen has clearly learned the art of French cuisine well. Service was fantastic, the people-watching (we ate al fresco) was fantastic, and I simply couldn't think of a way to make this a better meal.

Luca was my server and he was very welcoming in hospitable to this weary traveler. I sat on the patio towards the end of the row so I could take in the atmosphere and people watch a bit. Luca Recommended a meal with a mashed potatoes and sausage with French bread and salad and it sounded tasty so I gave it a go! All the flavors went well together; mashed potatoes were well seasoned the sausage had a good flavor, and the salad with the vinaigrette added a crunch in an extra flavor as well. I drank a French hard cider while I gobbled up my meal, which also was new for me and tasted great after I was done my meal. Luke brought me a shot with rum and some other ingredients, including lemon that definitely hit the spot after a good meal.I recommend Brasserie Belanger for anyone near GDN Train Station that enjoys great food and patio dining. There were also tables outside but not many. The ambiance is good. The music is a bit loud for the amount of people that were dining in. The atmosphere is quite romantic with the dimmed lighting and the candles but the music does not set that tone whatsoever. Props to our server for bringing us extra plates when we mentioned we would be sharing the appetizer. Beef bourguignon with mashed potatoes (5/5): the portions were worth it for the price. They were quite sizable. When I was cutting, I could tell the beef was so tender. The meat was marinated very well and deep into it. Tap to pay is accepted. Overall, La Cave Gourmande is a small cute restaurant for some delicious french food. I highly recommend their beef bourguignon.

This place is a gem!…read more We were in Paris for two weeks and this place was so good, we had it twice. Located in Montmartre, this cozy 'cave' sits upon a busy street. As an American, you must get used to the slow pace that most restaurants run here. But, I've taken a sincere liking to slowing down and enjoying my food rather than eating 'on the go.' Order the beef bourguignon. It is amazing. Comes in a steaming pot with buttery mashed potatoes. Also tried the foie gras, escargots, and frog legs. Haven't had a dish that wasn't up to par. This place deserves more attention. A must visit if you're in the area.

The food was clearly homemade with care, and prepared with fresh ingredients. One thing I appreciated was that the food was not oily or greasy. I dream of the duck, frog legs, creme brulee, and chocolate delight - this was the best duck and creme brulee I have ever had. The duck and steak came with AMAZING potato wedges, which may be my favorite part of the meal. Service: this restaurant is a small family restaurant, owned by a father who cooks. His daughter managed the front of the restaurant when I dined here. She was incredibly friendly, spoke both French and English, and provided wonderful recommendations. The restaurant is decorated so that is feels inviting and warm, but not small.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.
