We have a kid with dairy egg and nut allergies so not all ice cream parlors are created equal. While they do say there may be trace amounts of cross contamination, they used a new scoop on request and showed me the ingredients in the vegan ice creams to make sure I knew what was in it (only allergen I saw was soy but thankfully our kid isn't allergic to it). Definitely a little bit of a tourist trap but good for a quick, expensive cone. They offer the cutest mini cone, a size I've never seen in the States. For 3.69$, you can get a regular, single cone, as well. I got the pistachio, which had a few chunks but I found a bit too artificial tasting, like it was made with pistachio extract. The place was beyond my expectations. And I can say that it is the best place for cupcakes . I went there during an afternoon and asked the sales women what was their top 2 cupcakes. She answered direclty , our best is the red velvet and the vanilla cupcakes. I tryed the red velvet and it was really amazing ! it was tender, fluffy from the inside and chocolaty. The topping was sweet to perfection. It was the exact right amount of every ingredient. This is how you get a client to by other cupcakes. I do recommand this special red velvet cupcake. read more

I walked past here one day while my boyfriend and I were in Montreal and I marveled at the cute display. Didn't get a chance to go in that day but my boyfriend proposed a day later and surprise surprise, he had custom cupcakes made from Les Glaceurs. They were adorable and my fiance told me they were super accommodating and the only place he could reach out to for help with the engagement (since many places are French speaking). Only thing is they got the date wrong for the customization but didn't really bother us but could see that being problematic with other custom orders. We were really happy with the outcome, minus the typo. The cashier was super nice and congratulated us on our engagement and said she was so pleased to have a part in our special day. Moving from 'French' to more of the North American vibe (but still with Canadian touches) the first of our next three sweet shops to visit would be Les Glaceurs, and although some will claim the trend is played out I still love the concept of individual sized desserts that allow me to sample a variety of flavors and therefore while it may seem outside my 'gourmet' tastes that means I still love a well made cupcake. Apparently a small chain centered in Montreal, Les Glaceurs had originally been left off my agenda as we had planned to get ice cream at Bilboquet, but when the shop was inexplicably closed and we found ourselves faced with cupcakes AND ice cream as an alternative we figured 'why not' - a surprisingly good decision that eventually led to us ordering three great cake including the standardizing Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, and the monthly special Tire d'Erable. Priced at $3.00-3.50 each and perhaps only 3-4 bites per cupcake expectations were high for the quality of these tiny treats and beginning first with the Red Velvet we were adequately impressed (aside from the red hot on top.) As the only un-filled option of the three the cake to cream ratio was spot on with the former dense and cocoa laden while the later was light and smooth with a bit of added sugar on the outside for texture. Moving next to the filled options, Salted caramel was an equally well constructed cake with a light vanilla batter topped with rich buttercream frosting and a drizzle of caramel, but what set it apart was what was inside - a liquid caramel center rife with sea salt plus a light dusting of fleur de sel on top. Moving last to the Tire d'Erable, an obvious choice given the season, our location, and my predilection to anything Maple - it was probably the best cupcake I've had in 2012. Beginning first with the same dense vanilla base as the Salted Caramel but this time swirled with maple in the batter and then replacing the buttercream ice cream with one of whipped maple butter before adding caramelized maple syrup and maple candied walnuts this was a flat out embarrassment of sweetness that pined for a glass of milk or coffee while also wishing I'd have ordered another - or picked up a few for breakfast the next day. read more

Also had one that tasted like a salted Carmel one the second night it was really good as well. We had just eaten brunch, so we decided to only order one thing and share- a red velvet cupcake. It was DELICIOUS. They packed the cupcake in a to-go container and we took some spoons with us to eat it while we walked. I don't really like cupcakes that much, but I was converted- I'm glad I don't live in Montreal, or else I'd be eating cupcakes here every day. Les Glaceurs deceptively boast fresh ingredients, but their fillings and icings and even batters, definitively come out of large pre-made bins. They use the poorest low quality cheap bulk ingredients and you WILL END UP TASTING THE FLAVOURLESS DRY JUNK-FOOD CUPCAKE, NEVER MIND INGEST A POUND OF WHITE SUGAR WHILE YOU"RE AT IT. Not worth it, even on sale, biggest waste of money. There are so many more wonderfully delicious, money-worthy truly flavorful, mouth- watering cupcake et gateau places to go to, that don't take advantage of customers by putting zero care and or quality or pride in their end-product. TGrocery store cupcakes are better tasting than these dried up over-priced cakes and without the rip-off price of falling under the guise of a boutique specialty shop!! If there's one thing I can't stand, is a privately owned boutique shop who dupes their customers shamelessly. If you're looking for a dried up cheap ingredient mouthful disguised in in hard, dried up bland, sugary icing and glitter, you're in the right place. Shame on Les Glaceurs!! What's not to like!! They offer a free gourmet cupcake on your birthday--just bring your ID. For group events, I recommend ordering their box of 12 minis. These come frozen and you just have to thaw them at room temperature for 30 min and you've got delicious one-bite cupcakes to go! They are small yet satisfying...maybe a bit pricey but not if you consider other cupcake places that charge pretty much the same if not more. During the holidays, they have a special decorated box of 12 minis which make an excellent gift (to share)! I personally like the taste and texture of their cupcakes but I've heard some people say that they're more on the sweet and slightly oily side. I have heard of Les Glaceurs and my friends have raved about their cupcakes and ice cream. I have dying to try their ice cream since they sell Le Bilboquet ice cream. It was very hard to decide what flavour I should get because they had so many!! I ended up deciding with red velvet ice cream. It was delicious and very creamy! There were chunks of cream cheese and crumbled red velvet cupcake. Their cupcakes also looked very good as well! I have tried their chocolate cupcake at the Robert Bourassa location, but it wasn't that great. Maybe this location has better cupcakes? I have ordered my birthday cake a month in advance. I went to the store 7 times to make sure eveything is ok and i have met 6 of them. I have received a real disaster in terms of taste and shape. Nothing was respected and i have all the proofs Ann- marie the one who answered me after 3 weeks of calling was unprofessional, and very verbally agressive. she ended the discussion without a notice and refuse to listen to me. They put the cake in a very bad pakaging that smells ( have pictures) + the flowers i have requested to decorate the cake on the top were inserted with a metal rod all inside the cake (pictures provided) the cake costed me over 200$ and all thrown in the garbage as it tasted the brown carton/ cardboards not used for food. I have refused the cake the day of pick up and they told me you have to take it and ask for reimbursement, now they refuse to talk to me. I was obliged to go buy another cake to take it to the restaurant for the bday party as that cake was a real disaster. read more

My friend Patrick and I were immediately enticed by the large window with adorable drawings of four cupcakes and an ice cream cone in between that read "Cupcakes, Creme Glacée & Sorbet Café." We looked at each other, looked at the door, and went in. The smell of baked goods is enough for those enzymes in your tummy, Mr. and Mrs. Ghrelin O-acyl transferase and kids to jump up and yell, FEED ME. They had special cupcake-ice cream combos that were a little less than $5--totally worth it. The service is fast and they're all smiles. I selected a carrot cake cupcake and vanilla ice cream and Pat went for the Red Velvet and vanilla. We chose two leather chairs right by the big window to sink into. And we sunk into them. People pass by and their eyes light up at the sight of ice cream cones with smiles drawn on them. The bakery smells of sweet icing and laughter. The actual store is a decent size, clean, chic and enticing to children and old folk. The bathroom is even pleasant! If you would like to know, the cupcakes were absolutely delicious. Trying to get away from the throngs of tourists that were herding themselves down Rue Saint Sulpice to port area of Old Montreal, I also started craving for some ice-cream and gelato. The sign hanging outside the door was all it took to convince me to seek shelter. Luckily not too many people were inside, and I was able to take a good look at the displays of cupcakes and ice-cream flavors. I decided on a lemon cheesecake cupcake and a mini sized very chocolaty looking with nuts ice-cream (a Moka-Foulli flavor?). After getting caught in a torrential (not even kidding) downpour without my umbrella, I was in serious need of some cupcake therapy of the Red Velvet kind. Lucky me that Les Glaceurs was right on my way back to the hotel. I was soaked head to toe so ice cream didn't appeal to me, but the cupcakes caught my eye. Oh, did they look good!! I got one of the red velvets and a coffee to warm up and settled myself in to enjoy. And enjoy I did. The cupcake was delish and the coffee hit the spot. The only thing about the cupcake that I wasn't crazy about was the icing. It was too sugary sweet for me. But the cupcake was perfectly moist and crumbly. The shop is a bit small and looks like it could get crowded easily (it was a tight squeeze when I was there on a Friday afternoon). There are some comfy chairs up by the window that would be perfect for a longer stay but this really is more of a grab and go type of place. read more

Really terrible experience from start to finish. Ordered 36 mini cupcakes for delivery. Cost over $70! The confirmation email said they would arrive by 16:00. I called and they said by 17:00. Then I called and they said by 18:00 They didn't get to me until 18:30! Zero communication from the store, and very hard for me to reach them when I tried to call (they don't pick up unless you call repeatedly). THEN, the cupcakes are smaller than standard mini, they are microscopic! You would need 6 per person. AND they got my order wrong! I ordered 9 x 4 flavors. They got two of the flavors wrong. I got in touch with them and they said the flavors were the same but just the colors were different. One of the colors they gave me that I did not want was pink! No apologies at all. I went to Les Glaceurs early last Saturday morning to order cupcakes. I asked if they could do special icing for a Baby shower (vanilla cupcake with gold and mint icing). The young girl who served me said: uuhh yes but went to see the asst manager who came to see me and told me that I had to order online. I replied: but Im here. I want to order 30 regular size cupcakes and 25 minis. Again she replied that I had to order online but then had a change of heart because I said I could go elsewhere. Which I should have. I gave my information, told them what I wanted. They did not want a deposit and did not give me an order no. and said it was ok with just my name. This morning, for the baby shower I went to pick up my order. They couldnt find it and asked me for my order no. because the boxes dont have your name, just a number on the box (which I wasnt given). Finally found my order. I asked the manager to show me the cupcakes and OH MY GOD vanilla icing with sprinkles, which is NOT what I ordered. I was livid so they went to the back and removed the vanilla icing and sprinkles and just did put vanilla icing and little gold balls on half of the cupcakes and mint icing with little gold balls on the other cupcakes, which is not even close to what I ordered. But at the cash the asst manager was very happy with herself to remove $10.00 from my invoice for the icing on a $140.00+order!!!! Were the cupcakes worth it? how wrong can you go with vanilla cake? I AM NEVER GOING BACK THERE. The service was horrible and at the end of the day, if you cant do what the client asks for, then say it, I would have gone somewhere else and most definitely have gotten better service to start and my order would have been perfect. read more

During my touristy stroll through the history Old Montréal area, I needed a fix for my sweet tooth! Lucky me, I see a black sign with neo green words "Les Glaceurs" with drawings of cupcakes and ice cream cones. As I walk in, the display of beautifully designed colorful cupcakes boast a delicious time yet to come. The price seems a bit steep with $2.95 per cupcake, $16 for six and $30 per dozen. I got the red velvet cupcake on my first visit and the rum raisin ice cream cone on second time back. The cupcake's frosting wasn't too sweet and in my opinion, if they scaled back on the frosting and made it slightly more moist, it would be perfect. The rum raisin flavor has always been my all time favorite ice cream flavor since I first tried the Häagen-Dazs variety many years back. The two other variations of this flavor at Lappert's in HI and at this location are equally as satisfying or better. read more

Ok let me start with... This place deserves at least a full 4 stars. Got some cupcakes to go there was red velvet of course, strawberry shortcake, caramel, coffee and something chocolate for my bf. Aside from the red velvet the vanilla based cakes were better. The red velvet just melted in my mouth and the strawberry shortcake blew my mind. I was expecting the caramel icing to be overwhelmingly sweet but to my surprise it was just right. Their icing don't overwhelm you and you can taste the goodness of the cakes which is a huge plus because they are so good even just on their own. Never tried the ice cream there so idk but I probably never will because its not even a choice to me if cupcakes are laying around calling my name. I was wandering around old montreal and happend to stumble upon les glaceurs, a cute little shop that sells cupcakes, french macaroons, sorbets, and ice cream! Its located off a little street right next to a huge church. The cute window display and the woman that I just saw walking down the way with sorbet peaked my interest. I walked in to find a variety of goodies awaiting my consumption! I decided to get vanilla macaroons, chocolate macaroons (that's all they had left) as well as pear sorbet and litchi sorbet! They also have maple syrup ice cream which was just to die for, but I could not consume it all by my lonesome. The vanilla macaroon was first. I took one bit and the whole macaroon opened with a bright white cream of goodness inside! It was amazing! Soft, creamy, and crunchy all at the same time! Then, there was the chocolate macaroon. At first bite, the luscious fudge center poked its head out and greeted me with intense chocolatey goodness! This was unlike the vanilla macaroon, which I was able to eat in three quick bites. This macaroon was meant to be enjoyed in many small bites, slowly, sensuously, and seductively. Damn, it was good. And then, the gorgeous scoops of litchi and pear sorbet piled high upon a simple cone. The sorbets are made by a quebec company, and they focus on using the freshest ingredients. The litchi flavor is ridiculously fresh. It does not seem to have any artificial flavors, only the sweetness from the juice of the fruit. Perhaps the fruit is pureed and then formed into this gorgeous sorbet? The pear sorbet is sweeter with rich flavor, texture smoother than the litchi, and mirroring an actual pear. It is a wonder to me that I have not found such amazing sorbet in the states. The canadiens know how to do it right, that's for sure. :) read more

As my taxi took me from the airport to my hotel in Vieux Montreal we passed Les Glaceurs. As sweat dripped down my back I knew the first thing I wanted to do after dropping off my luggage was to find my way back here for a scoop of ice cream. I didn't know they were also a cupcake shop, and spent a few tormented moments once I arrived debating between the beautiful sweets (specifically the Coco-Lime, Thé Vert, and Choco-Menthe) and the luscious looking ice cream options (including a triple berry sorbet and some cake-y, caramel-y flavor too that I'm STILL thinking about). In the end I settled for one scoop of pistachio on a sugar cone dipped in chocolate (FYI: despite being in a queue of all French-speakers, I ordered in English, and had no problems)... and it was perfect in every way possible. The pistachio wasn't in it's "traditional" green state, but a blissful white. It was super chunky with pistachio nuts, and had both that sweet and moderately salty flavor that was perfect on such a hot day. It also tasted even more fabulous once I hit that chocolate, crunchy cone part! I will mention that the queue was enormous; and, the more people that joined it, the more frazzled the girls behind the counter seemed. Still, despite being obviously rushed, they were super efficient! I had planned on going back each day that I was in Montreal, because I really needed to bust through a couple of those cupcakes; alas, I didn't have the time. When I'm back though, I've got a date with some of those baked goods for sure! read more
