Lemon meringue eclairs
Francie M.

I'm a sucker for cute pastries! I wasn't even hungry when I walked by this shop but I had to stop for a bite. They offered many unique flavors of eclairs, and I settled on the lemon meringue one which was not too sweet but not too tart but perfectly refreshing! I only wish I had enough stomach space to try their truffles Logistics: - limited indoor seating and some public outdoor seating in front on closed streets - no direct car access as front street closed for pedestrians but limited street parking on side streets

The best Éclair and you can tell the best ingredients! We stumbled upon this place and we are so glad we did!

Éclairs are found everywhere. They're typically covered in a sticky, overly sweet chocolate and a bit soggy from sitting for too long with its crème patissière filling. It simply becomes a pastry we eat without thinking much about. Mont Éclair is not selling pastries that play second fiddle to your coffee. It sells little jewels. The shop is small but full of light. The glass display cases show a colourful and enticing selection of carefully made éclairs. The flavour combinations are attractive and interesting. The tasful décorations are elegant and modern. We picked the vanilla and the pistachio. The vanilla éclair has little delightful pearl candies and a bit of edible gold. The taste was clean and suble, creamy as the pastry shell yields with a light resistance. The pistashio éclair was even better in my opinion, the gentle yet sustained flavour blooming bite by bite. It was a very pleasant visit. The shop also had a very beautiful selection of other sweets and bonbons!

Mont Éclair Pâtisserie Chocolaterie ... the loveliest small specialty bakery in the neighborhood of Little Portugal in Montreal, Quebec. I was so delighted to find a sweet spot with wifi ... so that I could finish my weekly online menu ... and this place made the find even sweeter. This small bakery run by two people, specializes in éclairs and has a wide array of flavors with stunning decoration to finish these tiny masterpieces. The 'scene' within the bakery case reminded me of the Wayne Thiebaud paintings of cakes at the National Gallery in DC. Absolutely stunning! The two women who are the artists of these beauties are kind, generous of spirit & patient.

We ate eclairs across Montreal (as one does) and Mont Eclair's chocolate eclairs were the best.

Review Highlights - Mont Éclair

The young woman working during my visit was warm and welcoming--she spoke both English and French, which made ordering easy--and she happily answered our questions about ingredients and flavors.

Really enjoyed coming here. A surprise find in the Complexe Desjardins located near the McDonalds,…read moreit's off the beaten path from inside the complex but worth searching out. Even though it was cold, we still stopped in for ice cream and the ice cream was terrific. A different take on a sundae with a hard chocolate shell, that shell is nearly impenetrable (even the thin layer) but was so good even by itself. And good ice cream too. Come and stop in! FOOD: The chocolates were good but not the best. See's Candies in California is so much better for flavor and variety. But we did love the look of them and the options they offered. The ice cream though is next level. Never had anything like it with that hardened chocolate shell. And even though it was tough to get through, it was delicious. I couldn't finish even a small one! So don't go too big unless you're sharing. SERVICE: Everyone was super nice and the portions were HUGE. Definitely they do it right here. COST: The chocolates were too expensive but the ice cream was a bargain! Definitely would go back if I'm in Montreal.

I placed my order at the kiosk, then walked over to the left side of the store where there were large vats of melted chocolate, with flavors such as cookies and cream, hazelnut, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and red velvet. She must have got it at a boutique in heaven" (Justin Timberlake) There's a plethora of pretty and beautiful things to choose from in this boutique. The Boutique Chocosina is in the heart of Old Montreal on Rue Saint-Sulpice. The gorgeous store is stocked with all types of chocolate, sweet treats, marshmallows, bars, gift baskets and gift boxes, bulk candy and pretty much whatever your sweet tooth desires. We picked up a small bar of salted caramel chocolate and a gorgeous chocolate bar with candied orange rind for us, and jars of caramel and chocolate covered marshmallows for the grandkids. Chocolate and orange combinations have long been a favorite of ours, and I gotta tell you, their version of this combo was fantastic. Delicious milk chocolate with a distinct undertone of orange. You'll find the store in Old Montreal on the corner of Rue Saint-Sulpice and Rue Saint-Paul Ouest just up the street from the Hotel Nelligan.

We went up and down the streets mostly window shopping, but we had to stop by this chocolate boutique. Inside, the shop is a sweet lover's dream. There were walls of colorful, bulk jellybeans in clear tubes, bins of sweet and tart gummies, and paint cans to be/filled with treats. On one wall, there were stacks of caramel pebbles, crunchy balls, and gummies. And by the door, there is an attractive display of sweet gifts. I went with the milk chocolate French bars. The chocolate was creamy, perfectly-tempered, and studded with milk, dark, and white chocolate pearls. I only purchased two bars but there is an online shop to indulge my sweet tooth for when I am done.
