Les Glaceurs just opened this brand new location on University, right by Place Ville-Marie. The cupcake that I ordered, i.e. Vanilla cake filled with "Caramel à la fleur de sel", was a real delight. A friend ordered the Mint Chocolate and was as delighted! Thankfully, we ordered to go (The only downside for this bakery is its size - There are only a few seats available, so if you are planning on staying to chat with a friend, I would recommend going at times when it is less crowded!) Great place, awesome location (only a few minutes away from McGill University - Perfect for my sugar cravings during the day!), delicious cakes, and nice selection! I highly recommend!

    Choco-choco, red velvet and caramel!

I think Les glaceurs have some of the best cupcakes in Montreal. I've tried alot of their flavors and I particularly like the choco-choco, the salted praline and the red velvet. I like that you can order a huge assortment online and pick them up. You have to order 24 hours before though. They have a location at metro Longueuil now also!

I tried the earl grey and almond paste cupcake. After visiting this cupcake shop on mutliple occasions over the years, I can say this is my abolite favorite cupcake! Sadly it is only offered for the month of February. The not-too-sweet cupcake even has tea leaves on the top. The almond flavor is present in the cake portion and not overly sweet, loved the icing!

An unassuming but tasty neapolitan "ice cream" cupcake

It's a cut cupcake and macaron and gelatin place that offers a free cupcake for your busy! So far, I've had their cupcakes and they've all been pretty good as far as cupcakes go. I used to get them solely at Cho'cola but since they closed down last year =( I don't have many other fave locations. I have the neapolitan cupcake which was a dense brownie-like bottom followed by a vanilla middle topped with a creamy fresh strawberry whipped icing. Totally delightful and I split half of it with my boyfriend to share the love (not the calories). We both agreed that it was a tasty treat, not sickeningly sweet, because it was a whipped icing and a great topper to any meal. However, probably because of the open display I'd say it was a bit dry for this cupcake. I've had others as well and equally great.

Spent 3 days in Montreal and had cupcakes every day. They are delicious. Salted caramel was our favourite.

This place was hands down a highlight of my Montréal food scene experience. The shop itself is very cute and cozy, with just two small tables by the window and a few chairs. The décor is simple, and so are your choices, which honestly works in their favor. When you step inside, you get a direct view of the bakers working their magic, which makes the experience even better. We ordered a hot chocolate, plain croissants, chocolate croissants, and a slice of the Kouign‑Amann. If you like a dark, rich hot chocolate that's not overly sweet, look no further, this is the place. As for the croissants, both the plain and chocolate versions were good but fairly standard. However, the real star was the Kouign‑Amann. It was served warm, perfectly crispy, and had just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. It was so good that when I finished my slice, I went back to the counter hoping for more but they were sold out. To be fair, I arrived around 2pm and they close at 3pm. Despite that, the line moved quickly, and the staff were some of the sweetest people ever. My only regret? I only bought one slice. I'd highly recommend this place, but make sure you get there early if you want to snag a slice of Kouign‑Amann before they sell out.

We both had a "tranche" /slice /portion of the flaky pastry originating from Brittany. While it does not look like the Kouign Amanns I've had before, it definitely tasted fabulous. We were not the only ones who thought so. While we ate our bounty at one of the two open tables, we saw person after person purchase whole galettes, possibly for an upcoming family gathering. The pastry had a sweet and crunchy crust and a buttery interior. Here, it does not resemble a croissant. Instead, the layers of dough were softer than the typical honeycomb structure of a croissant. Speaking of which, my sister also recommends the croissants here, which she used to have regularly when the shop was open more frequently.

While this storefront located in the middle of office buildings, when you walk inside the absolutely beautiful decorations remove you from the urban hustle and bustle. The other Pâtisserie Mahrousé location is the original, dating back to 1970 when it was started by a Syrian pastry chef. Was eager to try their fatayer, savory pastries. Surprised to learn that they didn't sell here single, individual Fatayers, I was extremely happy the super friendly staff allowed me to mix and match to make it a pack of 6! (My choice of Fatayers included the delicious Tomato with Olives, Spinach, Cheese and round Za'atar!) Before pulling away, my brother and his wife decided to join me inside. The welcoming people behind Pâtisserie Mahrousé's counter encouragingly offered us tastings of their delicious sweets. One was a Kunafeh sweet cheese pastry, another similar to a nut filled Baklava. Their mouthwatering sweet treat selection was impressive. (Note - Many traditionally incorporate pistachios, on trend since as I've repeatedly noted "Pistachio is the new Hazelnut!") We were able to truly relax in Pâtisserie Mahrousé's comfortable window seating with brass tables facing the well designed interior instead of the modern surroundings. An effective, well thought out layout! While my brother ordered an espresso, I tried their flavorful, thick Arabic coffee. It achieved an unanticipated moment of zen for us all! Would recommend here for anybody interested in a delightful sweet or savory bite! Looking forward to my next time in Montreal when I plan on making the original Pâtisserie Mahrousé location a stop on my trip!

The Long Version: My husband and I were flaking in our hotel room after walking around all day (15km). I then had a hankering for some dessert. I did a quick search online and found this Middle Eastern bakery only 400m from our hotel room. So we headed there. The bakery is very pretty. I loved the chandeliers and painted walls and ceiling. There's a limited amount of seating, but we planned on bringing it back to our hotel anyway. Upon entering we were offered a small sample of their cream kunafe with shredded phyllo. It was very tasty. I debated getting a large piece of it, but decided to stick with my original plan which was a piece of their cheese kunafe. It was $8.50. I got it heated up. Unfortunately by the time we got back to the hotel it had cooled down a bit and the cheese wasn't as pully, lol. So my cheese pull photos are not as impressive :( Nonetheless, the kunafe was delicious. I think it would have been even better had we eaten it there. Next time! Review #74 (2025)

I was intrigued, and since I can always go for some carbs I decided to head in and check this place out. Unlike most bakeries I visited, Boulangerie Guillaume has a much more modern look, and is larger than a standard bakery. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by stairs which led up to the main production area. All of the bakes were arranged on the back-wall perimeter of the space separated from the pedestrians by a glass wall. The color scheme was mostly black to contrast the bright yellow of the bags and signage. The arrangement of the bakes, combined with the color scheme and modern aesthetics, resulted in a stunning, visually striking presentation. I wasn't too hungry, but I can always go for some sweets and their date square looked good. I went with that, along with a cappuccino. The square was delicious - the dates were high quality, and the crust underneath was moist while maintaining its integrity. The cappuccino was also good, a great complement to the bake. Service was efficient, and overall I had a great experience at Boulangerie Guillaume. I definitely want to return to explore more of their menu - I noticed they had some savory items so perhaps for some lunch. Definitely one of the best bakeries I visited in Montreal.
